City of rocks, camp & climb, RV spot is such a great option for when the city is packed. The bathroom is really nice and the owners are helpful and available, and It’s so close to everything. Rock city Mercantile & Pizza is within walking distance, minutes to city of Rocks or Castle State Park, Durfee‘s hot springs. It’s the perfect location for visiting these parks and is reliably available. Our dog loved running around in the open space to start the day . It’s really nice to be able to make a fire and have a big table available. The ground is pretty flat for tent and car camping. It also has Wi-Fi! Overall CR camp and climb is a great option!

Walking distance to the ranger station and town. Rv sump site less than a mile away and near the city of rocks entrance. Friendly onsite persons with lots of info.

Even though the weather rained on our stay it was well worth it. The thing that stood out most was that the owner stopped by shortly after our arrival and made sure we didn't need anything. He was extremely welcoming and kind.

Campground Response

We appreciate you and hope you come back soon.

The campground's proximity to the City of Rocks National Reserve makes it a dream destination for climbers wanting more amenities than the reserve's dry sites. Beyond the climbing opportunities, the owner's personal touch was what truly set this campground apart. Throughout our stay, the owner Steve made it a point to check in on us and ensure we had a memorable time, had everything we needed, and got our trailer hooked up. Their genuine hospitality and passion for the area were evident. The well-maintained RV sites and amenities added to the overall comfort of our stay. Easy access to water hookups and reliable electrical connections made for a hassle-free camping experience and kept us comfortable despite the unexpected weather encountered during our stay. The perfect blend of climbing opportunities, exceptional customer service, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape makes it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a memorable escape.

Great simple campground that will be even better in a few years once the trees are established. Talked with the owner who was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Had a nice stay over the holiday weekend. Steve and his family put out the welcome mat, offering a new camping alternative in Almo. Nice tent sites, full hookup sites and a clean bathroom. We will be back!

We stayed at this park for two nights in mid-june. The weather was perfect. The park is relatively new and is well laid out on a gradual slope. The water and electricity worked fine and there is a free dump nearby. There is also restroom and dumpster. The park is located just outside the City of Rocks National Reserve. A little too far to walk to but doable if you are in a hiking mood. The owner was very friendly and attentive and came through the park several times a day. We have been to the National park before and we will definitely stay here again our next visit.

The site was perfect for our needs. A cheap place for a large group to camp. They were very accommodating (they didn't even give us a hard time when we accidentally set up in the wrong spot). The only downside is one of the nights a herd of cows was brought into the adjacent piece of land and they were not quiet.
