I do not like RV Parks. The last time I stayed in one was over eight years ago when I used to do so frequently. Now I boondock all the time. But I was in the process of getting a South Dakota drivers license and needed a proof of residency paper which amounted to a printed receipt for a one night stay at a motel or RV park. Camp Dakotah would fill the requirement. What a pleasant place to stay. It was peaceful and quiet, everything I seek. Also, in order to get the printed receipt I needed to go online and make a reservation to be in the system. The nice young lady did it for me, saving me that grief. I enjoyed my stay at Camp Dakotah and was in no hurry to leave the next day.

Thank you for staying! Glad we could help you out!

Nothing wrong. Nothing exceptional - on a one night stay.

Camp Dakotah was clean and quiet. Served our purpose as an overnight stay well. The campground is old so don't expect too much. The gravel site was shady and level. Don't expect much more.

For us it was perfect. If you are looking for a fancy campground with lots of amenities this is not for you. But if you are looking for full hook-ups, quiet, in the country, washer/dryer, close to town, lakes, state park/rec areas then it is the perfect stop. You will find people who are work campers but they were all very quiet and respectful, no issues. Dan the maintenance guy was really nice and the owner is very kind.

It is good for a short stop over. The pictures on the website are a bit deceiving as the parking spaces are passable at best. They are gravel with very little grass except for the area around the playground and activity area. The host was friendly and parked us in a better site than we had selected online. It would be helpful if the spots were identified online like they actually are at the site. We would stay there again if we go that way.

Dan was helpful getting us set up with water for my camper when we arrived. I would stay again in the future.

Upon arrival no one seemed to know we were coming or had a reservation. A manager finally arrived on his motorcycle and showed us to our location. The place was very bland. Of the three toilets in the facility, one had no stool, one said not in service and the other was moderately dirty. Would definitely be our choice to not stay there again.

Nice place. Pleasant owners.. Gravel level sites w FHU. & wifi.. Bathroom. Shower & laundry. Some resident mobile homes.. This stop was a lot of contractors working on interstate.. Lots of stuff to play. Playground. Basketball. Horseshoe. Cornhole. Nice grassy area for tenting. Worth the visit.. Mile off Interstate but not a noisy.

This was an overnight stop for us, about a mile from the freeway, so it was quiet. Don't expect beauty or luxury, but it certainly provided the basics.

Honestly wasn’t for me and my family. We showed up and did not feel safe, we fled to Fargo 80 miles north and thankfully they had a place that was more what we were looking for.

Man camp for workers. Not a family campground no grass anywhere discarded air conditioner laying on edge of park. Heavy metal objects discarded on edge. Campers very close together. We did not stay drove on thru even though we had reservation for two nights.

I did not stay there. I had reserved it for two nights. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner. She was very nice. Based on old reviews I had it in my head that it was a playground type of park with grass, etc. It is now a mancamp. Lot's of construction equipment, and associated machinery. I am sure if you are working in the area it would be a fine park. We did not setup. We just drove on to another park. If you are looking for a State Campground style it may not be your choice.

Owners were very friendly. Decent sized sites, some trees and shade. Only complaint is the electric service. Paid for 50 amp, got a 30 amp plug that was hooked to a 20 amp breaker.

Campground Response

There are two 30 amps and a 50 amp on the same post on the site you were on sorry you were unable to locate the 50 amp plug. Thank you for visiting us!
