It was an easy on off overnight camping spot. The bathrooms were nice and clean and the showers are nice. Some of the longer term campers were very lax on the leash rules for the campground, which made me nervous.

Asked for a level site when I made my reservation, but was given a totally unlevel site. Office was closed when we arrived at 2pm and there was no help, or signage, as to where our site was. We had to drive up and down the dusty gravel roads to find it.

Campground Response

Hi Robert! We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with your stay. We usually do not have a problem with people getting campers level, but if you had reached out to us, we would have been happy to have switched you to a different lot. No, we are not open on Sundays just like a lot of other businesses. We did however send a text message to you on 4/17 with a map showing where your lot was located, along with your lot number and bathhouse codes you might need during your stay. In that same message, we gave you the after-hours number to call if you needed any further assistance. That same after-hours number is posted in red on our office door for our campers to call if they need assistance when the office is closed and our park host is on-site and happy to help.

Great place to stay. I was there long term and it was perfect for my situation. Dog park for puppy breaks. Playground for the little ones. Good wifi. Nice central facility with showers and laundry.

We stayed here for 6 nights while visiting family in the area. It was great for our needs even though most of the sites were long term. Unlike other long term parks we’ve seen, the spots were neat and well maintained. Our short term pull through site was level and easy to access. The only drawback was the traffic noise from I-24. We will stay here again when visiting family.

Campground Response

Hi Cindy! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a nice review. We have a great staff who work hard to keep the park looking nice. We are conveniently located right off the interstate, which does give us some traffic noise. We hope you come back to see us soon!

One of the best parks I’ve stayed in. Clean and quiet. They have very nice laundry facilities as well.

Campground Response

Friendly reception. But the park is nothing to raved about. The daily price should be tamed down for the parked gravel and open facility (pull-through and back-in) and no cable. Noisy due to road noise near-by. I stayed there for a day and was not impressed. WiFi has not password and very slow. Bath House: cleaned but crampy in each shower stall, should have more hooks and a bench for each shower unit. Cleaned cloth can easy get wet if you're not being creative because there's no place to put them. Have additional hooks and a small bench in each shower stall to put dry items will go a long way.

Narrow road with steep ditches to get to the campground. Our first visit and the entrance road was not well lit. We came in after dark and could barely see the sign. Difficult to find our site in a dark campground. Large potholes in the campground roads. It was ok for one night passing through but we probably wouldn’t stay there again.

This was park was easily accessible however the road noise from the Interstate was horrible. And we were disappointed that we were given 2 sites as close to the Interstate when the whole row of sites farther away were available. It didn’t make sense that we were given the sites we got. It may not have made any difference but..?? It’s a very basic park- good enough for an overnight stay if you don’t mind very loud road noise all night.

Newer stop and go camp ground with perm residents. Off I-24 hwy68 Cadiz exit. Very clean and open no trees since it was a farm field b4. May need a few leveling blocks but an over all great place. Staff are always great, very very friendly. Close to restaurants if needed 1/4 mile. We stay here when the State Parks and corp campgrounds close for the season or we are heading back from the south. 50a/30a sites water and sewer heated water post if needed. Hard to find a phone number on line. I mentioned it and they are looking into it. We will definitely return

They have really cleaned up this park! We stayed here in 2021 and they had a lot of junk trailers, and there was a problem with the electric. This stay in 2023 was a pleasant surprise. The new manager has cleaned up the park, put all new electric and sewer and got rid of all the junk. The park is very nice now. Gravel pull thru sites can accommodate large rigs with room for your tow vehicle. The manager is as sweet as can be. We broke down on the stop before we got here and she was awesome on rescheduling our reservations. We will definitely stay here again. It’s also easy on and off of 24 and or 68-80.

Got there after 10 hours driving from Gulf Shores AL. Had a reservation for overnight. 8:30 pm arrived. Very dark out, poor lighting. Was assigned a spot via text. Found campsite was occupied. Pulled along side that site to regroup. Got stuck in mud there. Kind gentleman pulled truck and trailer out. Got another text to take any site in B aisle. The whole B aisle was vacant except the one that was assigned to us. Pulled in different site. Driving home the next morning I get a call from them saying I owe $275 for damage to grass. Told them we weren’t paying it. They sent it to collections the next day. A simple phone call instead of text would have avoided getting stuck in mud. I get a lot of texts and wasn’t checking them every few minutes especially after 10 hours driving I just wanted to park and sleep. Nice bath house though.

Campground Response

Hi James! I am sorry to hear you were upset with your stay. I understand you had been traveling all day and were tired and just wanted to get settled. Let me clear up a few things for you that might help. We had someone wanting long term camping show up randomly around 8 pm Monday night before you arrived, without a reservation and decide to park their camper in B1 without letting our office staff know. Our B row is only for our overnight guests and all pull through lots making it easy for our campers to get into and settle after traveling. Our campground is conveniently located by I-24, the lights from the interstate and our many security lights around the park make it very easy to navigate in the dark. Lot B1, was your assigned lot number on the reservation you yourself made online, not through our office staff. You received an email confirmation immediately after you made your reservation with your assigned lot number, your spot was not assigned via text as you stated. Campers who plan to arrive after office hours usually call the office and let us know and we tell them to call the after-hours number if they need any assistance once they get there. You did not reach out to us letting us know you would be arriving after dark or after office hours. Due to this, our park host contacted you at 5:09 pm reminding you of your lot number and directions to your lot including all the information you would need to use the campgrounds amenities and provided you the after-hours phone number again. Instead of calling our after-hours phone number, you pulled into the grassy area beside B1 to "regroup" after we had over two inches of rain over the weekend, not choosing the gravel driveways or any of the other 18 vacant graveled lots open in the B row. After you got stuck in the grassy area, our groundskeeper and a camper at the park generously gave their own time to pull you out after office hours when you asked so you didn't have to call a towing company. We contacted you the next morning after assessing the damages which were estimated to be 40 ft long tire tracks and ruts that were 8 inches in the deepest parts, causing major damages to the lot. We nicely asked that you cover the expenses for the damage you caused, and you stated it was our fault, and hung up on our park manager. We then sent you an email asking for $200 to fix the area, along with pictures of the damages and a copy of the agreement you agreed to online when making your reservation. It states that you are responsible for any damage done to the lot during your stay. We felt that amount was fair and would help cover most of the cost to repair the lot. We allowed you several days to pay the bill, and then stated we would turn the bill over to collections if you didn't pay it by a certain date. Due to lack of communication and your unwillingness to pay for the damage, we have no choice but to turn it over to our collection agency. We did not immediately turn it over to the collection agency as you stated in your review. We hope this gives you some insight as to the sequence of events that happened during your stay with us. We are not asking for money to make a profit off of your mistake, rather to be compensated for the damages.

Outstanding place to stay for a day, month or year. The customer service is phenomenal and the showers, laundry, and bathhouse are up-to-date and clean. 24 hour onsite host is extremely helpful with any requirements. Our home sold faster than we expected as work required we to transition from one state to another. This was a convenient option for the last couple months we had to be in town. HIGHLY recommend!! Oh and definitely try Triplets and Harper House restaurants... some of the best dining we have ever had!!!

Nice pull thru for an overnight stop. Convenient off the highway and clean showers and restrooms. Only problem is drainage. Rained all night long and the next morning we were breaking down in the mud. Still would stay here again.
