Popular day and weekend jaunts from Green Bay include spots like Bayshore County Park, Potawatomi State Park, and Newport State Park.

There’s plenty to see and do in and around downtown Green Bay, if you know where to look. This is Packers football country, and the legendary Lambeau Field where they play is hallowed ground for an organization that has fans across the globe. Wherever you go in this great state, you are never far from a Green Bay Packers fan. Young folks and thrill seekers love the Bay Beach Amusement Park, which is a municipal venue that has more than 20 rides for kids and adults.

Heritage Hill State Historic Park is a living history village with different structures and exhibits representing different periods throughout the area’s history, and different interests as well, like the fur trade, faith and community, agriculture, and so forth. The Green Bay Botanical Garden has acres of native plants, roses, and apple trees, which have factored so prominently into Green Bay’s history. The NEW Zoo, or North Eastern Wisconsin Zoo, is just north of downtown, and an onsite aquarium. And, the National Railroad Museum is sure to please train enthusiasts of every age.
