About Los Ojos

Los Ojos, New Mexico Campgrounds and RV Parks

Los Ojos is known for its remoteness. Tucked between a couple of indian reservations and two national forests, Los Ojos is one of the most gorgeous and remote areas of New Mexico. It’s also just a short drive across the border into Colorado. After a day of enjoying nature and its beauty, head home to one of Los Ojos RV parks.

The San Juan National Forest crosses from New Mexico into Colorado, allowing for the beauty of the prairie and the snow-capped peaks of Colorado. The nearly two million acre park is home to hiking trails and tons of wildlife and plant life. There are multiple camping options in the park, as well, which offers up RV parking. After a day spent in the park enjoy a short drive back to one of Los Ojos RV Parks – Sky Mountain Resort RV Park and Rio Chama RV Park.

Across the border in Colorado is the Rio Grande National Forest, which is connected to the San Juan National Forest. This forest is one of the best kept secrets in the country. There are plenty of options for hiking and taking in the spacious views of the snow-capped peaks or mountains. There are also plenty of places to stop and take in the beauty. Pull out the binoculars and marvel at the wildlife and plant life. Updated November 7, 2016
