About an hour north of the Mexican Border is Deming, New Mexico. With its proximity to Mexico and nearby mountain ranges and forests, it is one of the most biologically unique areas in the state. Within driving distance are a wildlife refuge, a national forest and one of the most unique areas in the United States – White Sands.

Several Deming RV parks are within short range of all these natural wonders.

Nearly 275 miles of desert have been covered by gypsum sand, which makes large dunes that resemble waves – this is the White Sands. It is one of the natural wonders of the world and people come from around the country to visit the dunes. For miles and miles, there is gorgeous white sands that make for one of the most picturesque scenes in all of New Mexico. After a hot day visiting White Sands, you can drive a short distance to a Deming campground or RV park, such as Sunrise RV Park, A Deming Roadrunner RV Park or Little Vineyard RV Park.

Also within White Sands is the San Andres Wildlife Refuge, which is home to a diverse set of animals, including sheep and 175 different species of birds.
