Nestled along the river of the same name, St. Clair, Michigan RV parks are available to the north around Sarnia and Marysville, and to the south closer to Algonac. Saint Clair Flats State Wildlife Area which allows hunting as well as a nice quiet place to observe rare waterfowl across it’s more than 25,000 acres. Algonac State Park has about half a mile of protected area long the St. Clair River, with about fifteen hundred acres extending behind it, teeming with flora and fauna and accessible year-round. There are three well-maintained trails of varying lengths to choose from: the shortest is the Algonac-Blazing Star Trail, the longest is the Algonac-Oak Savannah Trail, and at one mile the Bridge to Bay Trail represents a happy midpoint for those who want to be in nature but who also don’t want to become part of it! The park offers hunting, fishing, skiing in the winter, and more flora and fauna you can shake a walking stick at. Approximately half an hour west of Saint Clair is the Wolcott Mill Metropark which features a mill that was built in the mid-1800’s as well as a working farm with classic farm animals. Wolcott Park itself has a golf course and miles of well-maintained hike, bike, and horse trails extending into the wilds of Michigan, as well. The Great Lakes Maritime Center, north of the St. Clair, MI RV sites, is a fantastic place to gain a deeper understanding of the area’s industrial and economic past, present, and future.
