Tucked near a state park and a large lake, Glen Elder offers up plenty of outdoor activities. This small, adorable Kansas town is one of the most unique towns. It sits along the Kansas-Nebraska border, and it is within driving distance of Kansas City, so if you wanted to catch a Chiefs game that would be possible. Glen Elder State Park has a variety of outdoor activities, so there is something for everybody. There are plenty of miles of hiking trails, which offer expansive views of Glen Elder and Kansas. Bicycling and mountain biking are also encouraged in the park. The park also rests along one of the largest lakes in Kansas, Waconda Lake. The lake is full of crappie, walleye, white bass, channel catfish, saugeye and a few others. It is a great place to fish. The lake accommodates boating, as well as canoeing and kayaking.
