Tucked among sandstone, woods, prairies and the Illinois River, Marseilles, offers many opportunities for outdoor activities, camping and spending time in an RV. This small community is family friendly, but enjoys visitors to its surrounding parks.

Like the town of Marseilles, Illini State Park is family oriented with several large picnic areas and beautiful views. Bordered by the Michigan Canal and Marseilles Locks, the 510-acre park also offers many outdoor activities, including boating, camping, cross country skiing, fishing, geocaching and metal detecting. There are campgrounds within the park. Or, you can put you can park you can head back across the river to the local RV park, the Glenwood RV Resort. There is a swimming pool, basketball hoops and hot showers.

A little over five miles south of Marseilles is the Marseilles State Fish and Wildlife Area. The park offers several types of hunting – dove, squirrel, pheasants, quail, rabbits and coyote, as well as deer and turkey. There are several different seasons for each type of hunting. After a day of hunting, you can rest in the Troll Hollow Campground, where thousands of campers have camped. The family-owned and family-friendly campground offers tent camping and RV parking.
