Being outdoors in Idaho is an easy thing. There are so many national forests, natural beauty and activities. Hagerman, Idaho is no different. Near a wildlife management area and a national monument. Hagerman is unique. It is also just south of a couple of forests and national parks. The town is also known for its location near the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer. After a day exploring the natural beauty of Hagerman, head over to a nearby campground or RV Park – some of the best in Idaho.

The town is known for the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, which contains the largest density of hagerman horse fossils in the United States. The fossils are found in one famous area of the park, the Hagerman Horse Quarry. The fossils are famous, because they are some of the last evidence of animal and plant life before the Ice Age. The monument isn’t well known, but is a great place to visit. And, it offers some of the best scenery, with rolling plains and mountains. After getting a history lesson, head over to one of Hagerman’s campgrounds or RV Parks.

Just south of Hagerman is the Hagerman Wildlife Management Area. The area is home of plant and wild life, such as songbirds and shorebirds.
