Many who choose an RV resort in Clearwater County do so to be close to one or all of the massive natural designations in northern and central Idaho and neighboring Montana. To the north is Coeur d-Alene National Forest and Heyburn State Park, which offers campsites along with two lakes and plenty of well-maintained hiking trails. Closer to Clearwater County are the Saint Joe National Forest and Mary M. McCroskey State Park. To the east and south of Clearwater County are Lolo National Forest, Bitterroot National Forest, Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests, and Wallowa-Whitman National forest which straddles the Snake River and the border with Oregon. Collectively these designations represent a massive protected forest area with very few people, so if you’re looking for some peace and quiet you’ve come to the right place!
