About Lake City

Lake City, Florida Campgrounds and RV Parks

An hour west of Jacksonville rests Lake City, Florida. It sits at the top of the state, near the Florida-Georgia state line. It is also a short drive to either side of the coasts, so a few hour trip could land you on the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. Lake City is also near one of the largest national forests in Florida. There are a lot of Lake City RV Parks and campgrounds, so once you are tired from a day outside rest your head easy at one of the local parks.

Osceola National Forest has nearly 200,000 acres of Florida wilderness, making it one of the largest in the state. Cypress-hardwood swamps and pine flatwoods make it one of the most beautiful forests in the United States. It is also uniquely Florida. The forest flows north across the border into Georgia and the John M. Bethea State Forest. There are also several RV Parks and campgrounds in Lake City to rest in, after a day in the park.

Lake City is just south of Big Shoals State Park. The park offers picturesque views of its Limestone bluffs and some of the best Whitewater rapids in Florida.
