Just southeast of Hartford, East Hampton is tucked between a couple of state forests and a wildlife area. East Hampton contains three villages – Middle Haddam, Cobalt and Pocotopaug. This beautiful Connecticut city is a great place to stop and enjoy some outdoors time, or check out one of the local museums. Snakes, turtles, birds and a variety of wildlife make up the Babcock Pond Wildlife Management Area. There are multiple hiking trails in the area. They pass through forest and marsh, while taking you out near Babcock Pond. Take one of the guided hikes, which will introduce you to the unique biodiversity in the park. After a day spent in the wildlife area, head over to one of East Hampton’s RV Parks.

The northern half of Hurd State Park is in East Hampton. There are plenty of trails for hiking and mountain biking, or you can enjoy a calm relaxing day picnicking with your family, as you take in the gorgeous setting of the park.
