Just southeast of Hartford, East Hampton is tucked between a couple of state forests and a wildlife area. East Hampton contains three villages – Middle Haddam, Cobalt and Pocotopaug. The northern half of Hurd State Park is in East Hampton. There are plenty of trails for hiking and mountain biking, or you can enjoy a calm relaxing day picnicking with your family, as you take in the gorgeous setting of the park.
