About Fremont

Fremont, California is the closest suburb to Silicon Valley and, for that reason, is commonly identified with it. Although it’s hills are not generally as steep as closeby San Francisco’s, it’s still comprised of rolling hills throughout its territory. Temperatures there allow for camping throughout the year.

Fremont’s temperate climate is ideal for all land-based camping activities like hiking and biking. There are nearby lakes great for fishing and kayaking, but swimming is only for those who can brave the chilly water.

Though there aren’t any RV parks in the city of Fremont, itself, there are many in its neighboring city of San Jose. Located 18 miles southeast of Fremont, San Jose has parks containing a combined 50 plus miles of hiking and biking trails. The Trailer Tel RV Park is one worth highlighting, as it has over 170 RV sites, all with full hookups. Amenities include WiFi, a carwash, a pool, and a fitness center.

Despite the fact that you can’t camp your RV in the city, most campers will enjoy Fremont, as many of its attractions combine entertainment with physical activity. Coyote Hills Regional Park, comprised of nearly 1,000-acres, has many miles of trails for walking and biking. Birdwatching is popular at the park, as well.

For less active outdoor activities, people generally go to Central Park. There, guests enjoy relaxing by Lake Elizabeth, picnicking, and playing golf at the 9-hole course northeast of the park.
