Activities 


Located in southeast Alberta, Bentley is a small community set inside a historic park. Around the perimeter of the park, you will find many shops and restaurants. The town has something to offer everyone including golf courses and shopping malls. During the busy summer months, Bentley is filled with campers who are passing through on their way to nearby National Parks or Waterton Lakes National Park and Glacier National Park. With so much to do in Bentley, there is no reason why you would want to spend your time stuck at home.

 

Food

To satisfy the stomachs of all of the campers, there are plenty of restaurants in and around Bentley. You will find a Mcdonald's, as well as Burger King and a Tim Horton's. For something a little different, there is also a small microbrewery called Big Rock Brewery that serves food and drinks made with Big Rock beer. If you are looking for something more unique to give your family the taste of home, you can get great King Eddy bison burgers made with 100% bison ground beef at the local butcher shop—a local favorite located on the edge of town. 

Art and Culture 

Bentley is a great destination for lovers of art and culture. Nature lovers will enjoy the huge, ancient trees found along the drive into town. The historic park where the town is located is also home to many interesting historical buildings including a library and a museum. The museum serves up everything from dinosaur bones to local wildlife, making it an interesting attraction for campers with kids of all ages.

With such beautiful surroundings and so much to do, you may want to consider booking in advance for your trip to Bentley. If you are visiting during the busy summer months, it is strongly recommended that you make reservations early since some campgrounds fill up quickly during this time. All of the campgrounds and RV parks inside the park have a website or Facebook page which will have more information and online reservation forms where you can book your stay ahead of time and select a campsite in the park. 

Transportation 

There are two ways to get to Bentley, Alberta. The first option is to drive your vehicle and camp. There are numerous campgrounds within the park and along the park's edges. For those people who want to experience a more active camping trip and would like to hike, bike, or paddle a canoe, there are also several nature trails that run throughout the park. For those who want to avoid being in their vehicle while they create an adventure, there is a free shuttle bus service available on Saturdays and Sundays when the campground lots can become very crowded with cars. The buses are free of charge but have limited seats so reservations are recommended especially during the high tourist season (May – September).
