Birmingham, Alabama Campgrounds and RV Parks

Birmingham is the most populous city in Alabama. As a metro area, it has plenty to offer in terms of nightlife and popular entertainment. This gorgeous, southern city also has plenty to offer in terms of outdoor activities. It is located near two national forests and a variety of streams and lakes, which offer up a bevy of water activities. After a day spent checking out local entertainment or one of the forests, stop near one of Birmingham’s RV Parks.

At the southernmost edge of the Appalachian Mountains rests Talladega National Forest, which is just southeast of Birmingham. At just under 400,000 acres, it is one of Alabama’s largest state parks, and contains a diverse eco system. There are plenty of hiking options, as well as places to take in views of the rolling hills of this beautiful park. Horseback riding is also welcomed in the park. After a long day in the park, take a short drive to one of Birmingham’s RV Parks – Hoover RV Park, Carson Village Mobile Home Community or Rusk Mobile Home Park.

Just north of Birmingham is the Bankhead National Forest, known as the “land of a thousand waterfalls.” It is home to the state’s only National Wild and Scenic River, the Sipsey Fork. With bluffs made of limestone and plenty of streams it has plenty of gorgeous views.
