A funky, back to the 60's, vibe. Showers and restrooms clean. Great place to kayak and bird watch. Good value.

Estella Woodley

Great service by staff, easy to do business with. We were in spot #12 and could see the ocean and hear it all night, it was great.

Campground Response

We are excited you enjoyed your stay with us. Hope to see you again. Safe Travels

Curt Anderson

Pros: easy pull thru. Cons: it is just a patch of uneven grass with hookups at the front of a very run down trailer park. The beach is small and not very pretty and you must walk thru the trailer park Finally. Very expensive. This should have been 20 per nite but was 70

Campground Response

Hello Curt, I would like to point out our pull- thru site fees for full hook up are $42.00 a night, which is what you paid. I am sorry it did not meet your liking, some prefer black top, which is not what we offer. We are a rural RV park located on the mouth of the Smith River.

Traci Woodward

Very outdated 😔 Picnic table was pretty much unusable. Access road was terrible. Definitely didn’t look anything close to pictures shown on website

Meghan Cosgriff

My dog thought this place was absolutely perfect! Lots of grass and room to walk the beach. Many nearby ocean access spots. We will be coming back!

chris cuppoletti

Wonderful campsite.

Campground Response

Thank you Chris! Hope you can stay with us again. Safe Travels

Patrick Byrne

Not a good experience. The bathrooms and showers are only open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. $60 a night and you can’t use the bathroom.

Campground Response

Hello Patrick We apologize for your inconvenience. We have had to adjust our restroom hours due to the COVID 19 requirements in our area. Happy Travels

Melissa Jo

Ended up having to cancel our reservation , or of the price I was expecting something that you would get at a KOA Camping site , truly need to do some work on this property, honestly should be embarrassed to be renting it out for camping right now ,

Michelle Marikos

Truly hope the tribe can bring this place back to any resemblance of what they have envisioned. It needs a ton of work, all of the old motel buildings need to be demolished, be cause of terrible black mold, the RV park has so much potential, there is a lot of room to do great things but is going to cost a lot of money, unfortunately right now you can tell that the place is in limbo and that the residents of the mobile home park that is combined with the rv park are not happy and will tell you all about it whether you ask or not.

Lora Jones

Doesnt make ANY business sense having a nice RV Park with a name customer's can't properly pronounce. Perhaps if one was Native American they could pronounce it. Totally doesnt make ANY sense at all. I know people wont stay there just because of that reason. May want to seriously rethink that exclusive name.

Campground Response

Thank you Lora for your opinion. Xaa-wan'-k'wvt is the Tolowa spelling for Howonquet. The park was purchased by the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation. The Tolowa have a long history with this area and want to preserve it. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at our park located on the Pristine Smith River, with an outstanding view of the River and the Pacific Ocean.
