WMRV was built in 2008, so it was built to handle big rigs. There are 22 pull-through sites with water, sewer, electric (20,30,50 amp), a picnic table, tree, and free WiFi.  There are 3 dry sleeper cabins; 2 with 2 beds (a full & a twin) and one with a queen bed. They all have a small fridge and microwave. There is also a room with a queen bed, table & chairs, sink with water, and some kitchenware.  WMRV is just off Main Street so it is easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants, a close drive to hiking, fishing, and ATV areas yet is a quiet homey place to spend a night viewing the "International Dark Skies", resting from a mountain adventure or staying the entire summer to escape the humid heat of other states. Westcliffe has been known as the best kept secret of Colorado, so come visit WMRV and be amazed at the beauty of the area nestled between the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

This underrated campground is owned and operated by some very amiable and hard working to ensure everyone has a great time! Other than great owners it has everything any camper needs from really spacious and wide sites to choose from that have all the amenities one could ask for to a lot more. There are a lot of fun activities that would get anyone smiling and having a good time. The location is amazing as it has a lot of beautiful nature surrounding it yet so close to some really nice shops, restaurants and attractions. This is truly a hidden gem that needs to be brought to light as not only do you get everything you need as a camper or traveler, it is all for a really great price, which only makes it better!

Very nice quiet campground. Office was very helpful to my needs.

Mark Nelson

Not suitable for tents. Office would not receive me or provide service to me.

Campground Response

I am sorry for your experience. We do have many tenters stay with us, either in the grassy ends or along the west fence. I am refunding your payment. We have an illness in the office apartment and a sign is posted to call me directly or see me at the main house. Please come again to find that we are very accommodating and welcoming.

I have been full timing for 10 years and have stayed in in the finest resorts from Oregon to Key West. Wet Mountain RV is my favorite. No pool, no tennis court, who cares? The staff and location is top shelf!!!

Campground Response

Thank you for staying with us. We are not a resort by any means just a simple quiet place to call home while you are here. Please come stay with us again.

Tom McDowell

Awesome place within walking distance of downtown. Vince made us feel very welcomed! Really enjoyed it!

Campground Response

We are so glad you liked our park. We enjoyed having you stay with us. Vinnie is great:)

Latisha Snow

Thank you for another great getaway. Westlcliffe is being home away from home. The cabin had exactly what we needed when we arrived late. The porch light was on, and a comfy bed to sleep on. Please make sure the shower is getting cleaned. I noticed a couple wads of hair in the womens restroom. It would be nice if this campground had like a community area....like a KOA campground. Coffee and breakfast. We enjoyed Vince and his family. Very polite people!!!

Campground Response

I'm so sorry you had hair in the drain. ICK! We will pay extra attention to that but might have someone in between us cleaning and your shower. We have had a community room with kitchenette and bathroom; however, COVID had changed some things:) YES indeed Vinnie and family are super great hosts:)

Rosie Horvath

Excellent stay. Good hookups. Great view and location. Could use better wi-fi. We loved staying here.

Staci Kish

Great place to stay! Clean, convenient, and wonderful management.

Campground Response

Thank you for staying with us and the location worked well for you. We pride ourselves in cleanliness and friendliness. Please come stay with us again.

Jeremy Hancock

Very peaceful campground. Good central location near town, diesel, and propane. Nice spots; power, water, sewer all good. Could not get WIFI to work, suggest improving service.

Campground Response

Thank you for staying at WMRV and for the review. I'm sorry you had trouble with the WiFi. We do have the fastest offered but when we are full and everyone is streaming or leaving their sites open on their devices it pulls a lot out and leaves little for others. Sometimes the signal gets blocked with the big rigs between you and the router. Hopefully you will come stay with us again.

Linda Flaherty

Close to downtown. Friendly staff. Nice cabin. Mattress was just a little too firm for me but nice king size bed. Very clean restrooms and showers. Beautiful sunsets and view of mountain range.

Campground Response

It was nice having you stay at WMRV and we appreciate the kind words. We try really hard to make sure everything is very clean, especially in this crazy COVID time. We do have a GREAT view of the Sangre de Cristo range to the west so I'm glad you got to enjoy our sunsets. Please come again.

Richard Tiller

Great place! We stayed in the cabins before our hike up Music Pass and it was just what we wanted. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Clean shower and restroom. Accommodated us for late check in as well. Will stay again!

Campground Response

So nice to have you stay with us and do hope you will come back. Safe hiking 🥾

Todd Baker

Very clean park. Located right in town so convenient. And park manager is very friendly and helpful.

Campground Response

Thank you. We are glad WMRV worked for your stay. Vinnie is awesome.

Linda Jacobsen

My adult daughter, my 9lb dog & I spend a July night in cabin #2, it was great!!! The cabin was clean, comfortable, cute and functional; the communal bathroom/shower was clean and close. It was really nice to sit on the porch at dawn, sipping coffee and taking in the Sangre de Cristos. I highly recommend staying here if not Ritz Carlton snob.

Campground Response

Although I did not get to meet you personally, Vinnie and Taffy spoke of you, and I was on site when you returned to say you were successful in your adventure. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and will be glad to have you return. Thank you, Marlys (owner)

Wonderful spacious sites right downtown, walking distance from the main highway going through town. It is literally a block away from the main center of Westcliffe. This is a delightful campground, well maintained, shaded with trees and level sites. The hosts are accommodating and friendly and they are always tending to the upkeep of the property. We will definitely return! Thank you!

Chris Jansky

Great campground right in the middle of town! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again

Bill Bradley

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities functioned as expected. The RV park serves the purpose as intended I guess, but for a recreational stay it does not meet what I prefer. The actual RV park has a lot to be desired. It is not much more than a dirt parking lot with RV hook ups. Finding the RV Park was a little challenging as there is not a sign on the main street and the U Haul trucks in front of the park hide the park from the street.

Campground Response

Yes it is just a park not a resort as most of our guests are here for festivals and events or building their own homes. It is dirty due to the location or the city streets would flood from the runoff of concrete pads. And due to state laws there can not be a sign on Main Street as it is also a state highway. I’m sorry WMRV was not what you expected.

Jason Pelchy

We really enjoyed our stay at the park. The people that own it are very nice and very helpful. The RV park is very clean and really close to downtown. We are definitely going back.

Campground Response

Thank you so much. We hope to have you back again. WMRV

Bert Tricia

We have enjoyed staying at this RV Park several times. The owners are friendly and unbelievably helpful. The Park is right downtown Westcliffe which helped us as we had our storage unit in Westcliffe - and the location of one to the other was a big help. The park being downtown (cute little Western town), you can walk anywhere downtown and enjoy. Then you have the wonderful views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The air is fresh and the skies are blue with sunshine. Just remember, winter doesn't end there until June.

Campground Response

We loved having you two here. Please travel this way again if you get the chance to just enjoy your time and not have to work so hard. WMRV

Jeff Hill

Loved the campground and the people who run it.

Bruce Libbey

Really enjoyed my stay at the RV park we stayed in the cabin very warm and cozy and the staff was a great help and they were very friendly would recommend this place right in the middle of town easy access to walking around downtown .
