Great park for an easy overnight stay. Manager is so nice. McAlester roads are a little confusing and some with no names so make sure to map out how to get there from highway 69.

Trains were extremely close and being not use to there loud train whistle I would wake up with each passing train. Gravel pads weren’t level spent over an hour trying to get our motor coach to almost be level in order to open slides. Glad it was a one night stay

Good for overnight stop. Some pretty, green long term sites. Someone’s cows unseen, but a little too nose close! May be a little hilly for big rigs. Management is very nice—a big plus. Would stay here again.

Good for overnight stay. Mostly long stay, but has some pull thru’s that fill your needs for level spot, 50/30 electric, water and sewer. Easy in and easy out. Check in at hotel with friendly lady then drive behind to RV parking. No amminities!

train noise with accompanied horns, cattle auction house and bawling livestock accent the area adjacent to this older park. bathhouse? still closed, under remodeling. One and done.

Campground Response

Paul, Thank you for staying with us. Sorry about the noise, I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out that we can not keep the train from coming through town. We also support our neighboring business that provides our ranchers with a avenue to sell their livestock and to continue with their efforts to bring a good and solid economy to our area. Thank you for your support and gift to our park to bring a remodeled bathhouse to our guest. Have a bless trip sir.

Too bad a review of zero stars isn't possible. Crummy looking place with lots of full-timers. Unpleasant woman at the desk. NO working bathroom. Would they open one of their motel rooms for toilet or show facilities? Nope. You'll love this place if you happen to be one of T-Rumps delusional followers. They have a notice posted on their front door blaming President Biden for fiscal problems exacerbated by T-Rump. Boy, we were glad to get out of there.

Campground Response

Sam, Thank you for making your donation to the reelection campaign of Donald J. Trump. Your support is appreciated more than you can possibly imagine. We will forward your contribution on ASAP. Further more we look forward to seeing you again!! Thank you for your business and best wishes to you!

Price was high for 1 night stay. Made my reservation online and it doesn’t give you an assigned site. The owner called me 2 times to check if I was coming, felt a little pushy.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you feel like the price was to high. We truly want to keep our prices down but due to the current economic condition created by the Biden admin. We will be raising the rates again. And to address the "pushy" Staff always calls our guest when they make a same day reservation like the one you made. Just to accommodate the arrival and make the transition as easy as possible. thanks for staying with us.

Camp sites were nice - enjoyed the full hook ups. Did not know that the train tracks were across the road - train noise and whistle was awful - especially at midnight! Will look for another campground next time!

Campground Response

Thank you for the kind review. However we do not control the train. Thanks

Convenient location. Easy in/out.

Stayed one night as we were traveling through. Pleasant staff, clean park. Gravel sites and staff were using tractor to level and add gravel etc. Seems there's a fair amount of long term people there and they're quite noisy. Fair warning there is a train that comes by about every couple hours through the night (not the campgrounds fault) so it's hard to get a good night's sleep. Cost is reasonable.

Nice park, just needs some sprucing up in the front (the building that used to be a bar). First impression no that great but staying was fine.

We stayed for three nights in October 2021. The sites are good and level and no complaints about the site. Price was good. Easy to find and close to attractions and easy to get around from the campground to the surrounding areas. There is a train that runs accross the road and it runs several time a day and night so some could be bothered by the sound of that. My husband was awakened by it during the night. The roads in campground are OK if you don't go up to the higher levels where the bathhouse was. There seems to be some drainage issues on the one side as the road up a hill was very washed out in some places. Si need to be careful driving and walking around the campground. The website advertises a bath house and laundry. The bathhouse was dirty and mold in the one available shower. No ventilation in the shower. There were several individual showers but only one was working while we stayed there. The rest were padlocked with signs not to use. The campground is big and while most campers may use their unit to shower in they should not advertise a bathhouse if it is not available or in as poor condition as this one was. The toilet area was better. Lots of stalls and sinks but the electrical outlets were right by the sink area and were not GFI protected outlets. There were no plates around the outlets. While better than the shower area, it does need a good cleaning as rusty in places and spider webs etc. They advertise a laundry on the website but this was not available. There is a large room in the same building as the bathhouse but there were no operating machines in the room and the room was locked. There is a hotel right in front of the campground with what looks to be long term residents living there. We watched several of them bring dogs out of their rooms and walk them in the camp ground area or right in front of the campground and not bother to clean up after their pets. At times they were not even on leashes. On the paper we were given when we checked in it clearly states no pets in hotel rooms so obviously they changed their rules but failed to update the campgroud rules.

An OK campsite but, in my opinion, the bathhouse is a joke. About 8 stalls with 6 of them with out of order signs on the door. On the 2 that were available, the doors didn't close properly. That bathhouse should have been demolished and replaced years ago.

Campground Response

GENE, Thank you for your review. I understand the bath house is old. However, it does have all new sinks and toilets. Cleaned and stocked every Monday. Yes I have closed most of the shower stalls due to the fact we just do not need that many stalls open. I must say though the property is for sale and if you would like to front your money to make the improvements I will be glad to sell it to you. Safe travels!!!

Was okay for the one night stay. There is a a small airfield close by with air traffic. Also a railroad on the same highway with trains every few hours with very loud horns.

Campground Response

Tim, Thank you for the review and the opportunity to have you in our park. I'm sorry about the airport and the train. I wish I could do something about both but unfortunately I don't have any control over either of those businesses. Once again thank you for staying with us. Doug, Owner Valley Inn RV Park

Quiet pull through. We stayed one night. Close enough to level. Easy on/off the highway. No problems!

Campground Response

Barbara, Thank you so much for your kind review! Safe travels and hope to have you in our park again someday. Doug, Owner Valley Inn RV Park

Site was changed to A site that was difficult to level the RV. Had to dig a hole to get water line hooked up to the hose bib.

Campground Response

I would like to apologize for the site change. We do try to accommodate everyone with the best site possible. When we are busy and filling up sometimes it just can't be done. So I do apologize for the inconvenience. As to the water line. We know we have a few to fix or modify. Thank you for your business and we hope you find safe travels.

If you are looking for an overnight spot along the way, this can work. Did for us. One story old low end motel with RV spaces in back. Not classy or attractive … we wouldn’t even give the bath house a try… much less the bar out front. Mostly long term residents. Turned out quiet, residents just regular folks easy to get along with.

Campground Response

Thank you for the opportunity and staying with us. I'd like to say our property is older and the buildings are dated a little. However our bath house is clean. Sinks and toilets are all new. The bar is the oldest running bar in McAlester and is a popular place for many people. I don't advertise classy or attractive. We work hard to keep our park comfortable, affordable, and clean. Once again thank you for your business.

Tells you it is $35.00 per night. Then as you check out it adds a "Processing Fee of $5.00" which is non refundable. Then it asks if you want "Trip Insurance" for an ADDITIONAL $12.00, which I clicked NO. But, as I finished, it added the $12.00 anyway and no way that I can find to change. And, of course, the $5.00 will not be refunded. So, the $35.00 per night, which is expensive, turns into $52.00.

Campground Response

I'm sorry you had an issue with your booking. Not really sure how you booked online and was asked for trip insurance? No where on our online booking engine do we ask for trip insurance. Once again sorry for the inconvenience but we do not do that. Thanks again

Overall...pleasant experience. Full hookup, pull through site. Somewhat of a downward slope. Gravel and asphalt drive. Leaving out RV scraped the bottom due to rut in drive...very slightly. Cow pasture of some sort behind campground...they didn't sound happy. Didn't bother me. Train nearby...heard all through night. Didn't bother me. Overall...decent overnight stop. Office staff was cheerful and friendly.

Our experience at this park was poor. The roads are not well maintained. The bathhouse showers and toilet area were not well maintained and cleaned. The outlets in the women's bath didn't work and it may be because the outlets have been turned off as there are no covers-a direct safety violation. The location near an active railroad line where trains ran every half hour in the morning and evening whistling all the way from one end of town to the other definitely didn't allow for a peaceful visit.

Campground Response

Beth, I would like to apologize about the roads. We have had several heavy rain storms recently. It is a challenge at times to grade the roads back into a better condition due to how much rain we had. I assure you we keep them up often. The Bath house has all new toilets and sinks. It is cleaned every Monday. With all the rain it has been harder to keep it clean. The RR is something we can not control and they are following Federal guidelines when sounding their horn We are doing our best. Thank you for the opportunity.
