Join us at The Refuge on Roanoke Island where one may take advantage of our 15 spacious nightly rental sites located on the south side, overlooking the water and offering our guests beautiful views. Our sites feature 30 amp and 50 amp electrical services while accommodating vehicles up to 45 foot long. Enjoy our full service bathhouse, coin laundry facilities as well as air conditioned and heated bathrooms where one will find two showers in both restrooms as well as three toilets and a dual vanity in both facilities.

If you are joining us in the summer time be sure to take advantage of our pool overlooking the sound and pavilion area. We ask that you swim at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty. You may find lounge chairs stretching the length of the pool for your comfort. Of course, if you are looking for more active water sports you can make your way down the docks where you will see that the canal reaches to the sound for anyone interested in setting out on a kayak or canoe to enjoy the natural scenery of Roanoke Island.

If you're looking for a more passive approach to enjoy this beautiful setting, feel free to sit back and relax for a picnic lunch at our pavilion. This covered shelter and the surrounding picnic tables provide the perfect ample space to enjoy quality time with other travelers while recaping a lovely day spent on the outer banks of North Carolina. We cannot wait to have you join us here at The Refuge on Roanoke Island. Whether its for a night or two, we hope to see you soon!

Checked in on 6/9/21 and out on 6/13/21. Site 15. Friendly staff, very clean pool and facilities. The view is incredible! Will definitely come back.

Timothy Tedesco

Most peaceful place on the outer banks! Loved it!

Brittany Cooney

We really enjoyed our stay! Nice sites, gorgeous views, and great location to everything we wanted to experience in OBX.

Renae Hiltibran

Very nice, quiet campground with nice bathhouse and laundry. It accepts dogs but has no fenced area. The lots were right on top of each other. Pretty views of the water.

Jim Mander

Spotless bathrooms, great hookups, awesome water view and Ron the manager was a hoot! A no frills but very comfortable campground!

Marla Crowder

Nice park and in a convenient location to all the OBX sites.

Suzanne Nordsving

Great quiet location with beautiful water view. Loved the board walk over marsh. Very clean restrooms

Meghan Shatto

Our site #4 was great! Waterfront with beautiful sunrises and great walking paths and boardwalks around the marsh. Will be back for sure!

Debra Small

It wouldn't let me rate it. But it was a 5 star. We had a great time! It was clean and friendly place.

Chuck Armstrong

This is a seasonal facility with a few overnite sites available. Sites are spacious and flat. No on-site management but Roverpass is responsive to inquiries. This was the perfect, uncrowded spot for our Outer Banks visit. O'neals seafood market/cfe is not to be missed. Published rate is $50 the the actual rate is $70 which is reasonable for the area. We did not check-out the restrooms.

Clifford Mooneyham

Really peaceful, clean and friendly campground. Cable didn’t work, but who goes to the beach to watch tv anyway. Would love to be able to have a fire but ground fires are not allowed. The pros outweigh the cons so I’ll be staying there again.

Calvin Lewis

Very well maintained. Quiet, pet friendly. Beautiful landscaping. Would definitely stay here again.

Ray Black

Cable tv Sucks been that way for years ,need a new provider , prices to high

Tammy Morelen

Great campground ~ love the waterfront sites ~ tidiness of the campground and seeing Ron when we go;)♥️😊✌🏽

David Smith

The cable didn’t work as well as expected. But the park was lovely, quiet, and close to everything!

Steve Welty

Great place to stay. Ron is very helpful and friendly

Darlene Lewis

We had a great time

Site 27 was difficult to back down into. It is also very noisy due to traffic on main route. Not relaxing. Otherwise park was a nice natural setting. We would return if we could stay in the loop near the marsh.

Mike Ruffin

Nice place. Pricy but location makes up for price. Did not like check in. No one at office and when I did find someone they went in another place and said park on site ... well no papers no nothing about rules.(except stern warning “do not park on grass”) Not friendly at all. But I would stay again for location

Anne Wells

Beautiful park!!! Very nice man running the park. A bit pricy for retirees, but very convenient to all the Outer Bank activities.
