Join us at The Refuge on Roanoke Island where one may take advantage of our 15 spacious nightly rental sites located on the south side, overlooking the water and offering our guests beautiful views. Our sites feature 30 amp and 50 amp electrical services while accommodating vehicles up to 45 foot long. Enjoy our full service bathhouse, coin laundry facilities as well as air conditioned and heated bathrooms where one will find two showers in both restrooms as well as three toilets and a dual vanity in both facilities.

If you are joining us in the summer time be sure to take advantage of our pool overlooking the sound and pavilion area. We ask that you swim at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty. You may find lounge chairs stretching the length of the pool for your comfort. Of course, if you are looking for more active water sports you can make your way down the docks where you will see that the canal reaches to the sound for anyone interested in setting out on a kayak or canoe to enjoy the natural scenery of Roanoke Island.

If you're looking for a more passive approach to enjoy this beautiful setting, feel free to sit back and relax for a picnic lunch at our pavilion. This covered shelter and the surrounding picnic tables provide the perfect ample space to enjoy quality time with other travelers while recaping a lovely day spent on the outer banks of North Carolina. We cannot wait to have you join us here at The Refuge on Roanoke Island. Whether its for a night or two, we hope to see you soon!

Barbara Cohen

Just an amazing friendly quiet campground with a beautiful view!!! So much history to explore on Roanoke!! Thank you Ron for having us!! We will be back!

Marc Cohen

Great little quiet campground, will be back

Wilmer Sullivan

enjoyed out brief stay at the Refuge. It seemed well managed and taken care of. esp , how Mr Brown made sure you knew where and how to park and the rules up front and what the park had to offer. We look forward to our next visit

Roxane Almond

Love it! It could definitely stronger internet and cable to compete with other campgrounds. Scenic location. Already made next year's reservations. Enjoy seeing and talking to Ron...very attentive. Margaret was easy to work with on the phone. Great experience.

Megan Nishikawa

The place is pretty and the bathroom is clean. If you’re looking for a place to stay long term it would be fine. But the showers ran out of hot water fast, the camp host was rude. This is a residential rv community not a campground.

Jim Kurst

We loved the view from site 3 and the facility was clean including the shower area. Only draw back on that particular site was the sewer connection was too high above the ground all the other sites where lower. We definitely are coming back.

Dave McKinney

Great clean campground and reasonable. This has been our third time staying here. It won't be the last. We hate to leave.

Jordan Embrey

Such scenic view and great amenities! The dock was very expansive and a great walk around the water and marsh. All sites are neatly kept and is a CLEAN campgeound! My husband and I look forward to returning.

Rhonda Furtney

Great Place, Just a 1 night trip to attend a wedding. We will make plans to come back for a longer stay

Andy Tremblay

Very quiet and restful campground. It is a true refuge in the Outer Banks of NC which can be a boisterous place.

Mark Warren

Great campground in a fantastuc lication Clean restrooms, there are a significant amount of long term trailers mixed with campers Unfortunately the individual running campground lacks customer service skills. I have to assume ge is owner of property and thats how ge stays employed. Rude and abrupt woukd be an understatement and appears to be recurring theme on all reviews

Linda Jackson

Beautiful campground. Very well maintained. We loved our site, the lake was right out our camper door. We were able to sit at our site and fish. Very peaceful. Ron was great, making sure everything was ok during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Joan Videen

This RV park is very beautiful & quiet. The access to dining, shopping & special sites is easy. Ron, the caretaker, is very friendly & helpful!! We hope to return next year!!

Gary Weatherly

Great little campground. Definitely going back again.

loyce Ragsdale

Extremely nice and quiet campground. We only came down to fish but i will definitely be back with the wife. Ron is a great guy and makes sure any questions you have are answered.

Jose Rosas

Beautiful campground. Clean, organized, spacious and open . Giving 4 stars just because there’s no fire pits .

Alex Torres

Quiet campground perfect place to relax away from the tourist spots, but close enough to be able to get to those spots within minutes. We will definitely try and get back there.

Mark Kerkhoff

Clean and friendly campground

Kathleen Davis

We had a peaceful 2 days here. Sites for transients are all on a lovely pond. Quiet setting. Boardwalk surrounding the pond for walks. Close to Manteo for shops and restaurants. Sites are gravel but no problem for leveling.

Roy Richardson

Clean, well kept, east to book and easy check-in/out. Limited spaces for non-permanent, but sites available are nice. Rock instead of cement pads but that's ok. No rug allowed on the grass but I understand the reasoning. Nice people!
