Join us at The Refuge on Roanoke Island where one may take advantage of our 15 spacious nightly rental sites located on the south side, overlooking the water and offering our guests beautiful views. Our sites feature 30 amp and 50 amp electrical services while accommodating vehicles up to 45 foot long. Enjoy our full service bathhouse, coin laundry facilities as well as air conditioned and heated bathrooms where one will find two showers in both restrooms as well as three toilets and a dual vanity in both facilities.

If you are joining us in the summer time be sure to take advantage of our pool overlooking the sound and pavilion area. We ask that you swim at your own risk as there is no lifeguard on duty. You may find lounge chairs stretching the length of the pool for your comfort. Of course, if you are looking for more active water sports you can make your way down the docks where you will see that the canal reaches to the sound for anyone interested in setting out on a kayak or canoe to enjoy the natural scenery of Roanoke Island.

If you're looking for a more passive approach to enjoy this beautiful setting, feel free to sit back and relax for a picnic lunch at our pavilion. This covered shelter and the surrounding picnic tables provide the perfect ample space to enjoy quality time with other travelers while recaping a lovely day spent on the outer banks of North Carolina. We cannot wait to have you join us here at The Refuge on Roanoke Island. Whether its for a night or two, we hope to see you soon!

Not having site number ahead of time is very aggravating. Same thing happened last yr. 4 rigs pulled in & we were the last one. Nobody knew where they were to park so our car is sticking half out on highway & we can’t move forward. Then our spot had the other coaches in front of it so we couldn’t park & get out of the way. Very unorganized. I understand you now have an on-site person, which you did not have before.

Beautiful campground! Small quiet has there own “pond” very close to marinas and great seafood! Had to extend due to Miss Ophelia coming in and showing her tail and was not an issue. Camphost made it happen. Cant wait to go back!

The Refuge is a quiet and quaint campground. We have stayed several times and will go back. It has a nice pool, a great water view and bike trails close by. The host is friendly and easy going. The bathhouse is clean and very nice. It also has an outdoor sink area and work area which makes cleaning fresh caught fish easy. We will return in the coming year.

We are so happy to have found The Refuge. A small, quiet campground with with our trailer backed right up to the pond where one can enjoy morning coffee, and evening sunset, catch-n-release fishing or setting a crab pot. Such a relaxing spot! The grounds are well kept, the bath house is kept so clean all the time, and the pool is refreshing after a day at the beach or touring the area. We also enjoyed the Sunday morning service in their pavilion by the water. We have found our go-to campground for future visits!

My found this place last minute. What a wonderful surprise! The pool grounds were clean and very well maintained, the pool was refreshing and the people were wonderful too. The location is fantastic and not too far away from anything. We'll definitely return in the near future.
