Rules

Trash Removal

The dumpsters are for TRASH ONLY. The following items are not considered trash: grills, furniture, mattresses, cabinets, or electronics. Please dispose of your non-trash items by taking them home and disposing of them through your own garbage service company. If you are found dumping any items that are not considered trash, you will be asked to remove the items from the dumpster.

Swimming Pool

NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. All swimming is at your own risk. The pool will only be open during store hours. If the pool gate is closed and locked, no swimming is allowed. For children 17 or under to swim, the 2 adults responsible for their safety and behavior must register the child at the store to receive a pool bracelet. This is MANDATORY. If your child is found in the pool without a bracelet, your child will be asked to get out of the pool and cannot return until he/she has been registered at the store and received a bracelet. Babies/Toddlers must use swim pants in the pool. Diapers are not allowed in the pool. No pets are allowed in the pool area.

Park Speed Limit

A maximum speed of 5 miles per hour throughout the campground. This includes all vehicles, golf carts, bicycles, motorcycles, or any other wheeled method of transportation.

Smoking

There is NO SMOKING in the restrooms, cabins, playgrounds, or any Tamarack buildings. Please utilize fire rings or receptacles to depose cigarettes or cigar butts. Let us keep our lawns and roads clean!!!

Miniature Golf:

Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Campfires

All fires are to be contained within the fire ring. Fires should be no higher than 3 feet. No fires shall be left unattended and must be extinguished before retiring or leaving the campsite.

Campsite

It's your responsibility to keep the campsite clean. A person who vandalizes a campsite or any property within Tamarack Campgrounds will be prosecuted. If the person is a minor, the parents will be held responsible.

Golf Carts

If renting a golf cart, you must provide a valid driver’s license and sign the Golf Cart Rental Agreement. To operate a golf cart without an adult, you must be 16 years of age and have a current valid driver’s license. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a licensed adult driver when operating a golf cart. No Exceptions!!! If this rule is violated, your privilege of having a golf cart in the campground will be revoked. Golf carts driven after dusk must have headlights on the front of the cart. No flashlights are allowed in place of headlights. No driving golf carts after midnight is permitted. Golf Carts must remain within Tamarack Campgrounds. Please drive in a responsible manner and follow park speed limits.

Bicycles

NYS requires that children under the age of 14 wear an approved helmet. This law will be enforced within the campground. No riding after dusk.

Vehicles

Registered vehicles only. Limit one (1) vehicle per site. This rule is per code enforcement. Additional vehicles must park in the designated visitor parking areas. Utility trailers and boats must be placed in the visitor parking areas. Not on your site.

Black Water Dumping

All black water dumping must be done at the dumping station with your trailer. State law prohibits the discharge of blackwater on the ground or stored in containers.

Restrooms & Showers

To avoid accidents or injuries in the restrooms, it is mandatory that an adult accompany children under eight (8) years of age. A person that vandalizes any of the Tamarack Campgrounds Restrooms will be prosecuted. If the person is a minor, the parents will be held responsible. Please do not wash dishes in the restroom.

Playground

The playground is closed from 9:00 p.m. - 9:00 a.m. No Exceptions. An adult must supervise children under eight. The playground equipment is for children, not adults.

Pets

All pets MUST be vaccinated. Proof of current vaccinations is required. No Visitors’ pets are allowed without current proof of vaccination. Pets are welcomed but are required to be always leashed, this includes walking through the campground. Pets cannot be tied outside and left unattended. All pet feces must be picked up immediately. Please do not dispense your dogs’ feces into any fire rings. Barking (excessively) or growling dogs will not be tolerated. If any pet is creating a disturbance or being a nuisance, the owner will be asked to remove the pet. No pets are allowed in the POOL area or any of the TAMARACK BUILDINGS. Maximum two (2) pets per site

Campground Visitors

Daily visitors are FREE, except there is a charge of $5.00 per visitor for the pool. For each overnight guest, there is a $10.00 per night fee. Children under 4 are FREE. It is the responsibility of the camper to register each visitor at the camp store. All visitors must follow the campground rules.

Quiet Time

Quiet Hours are 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Any Camper under the age of 18 must be at their campsite (or) with an adult after 11:00 p.m. on any day.

Tamarack Campground is nestled in the beautiful Finger lakes region of New York.  

We are just a few miles from Hemlock-Canadice State Forest, where you will find amazing trails for hiking, biking, bird watching, and taking in the wildlife and surrounding scenery.

Absolutely loved this campground! Jen and Alisha in the office were the best! Super friendly and helpful. Even all the campers were nice! I rented a golf cart for one day and returned it the next. About an hour and a half later, I went back to the office to rent it again. Tracy in the office charged me another full day instead of the weekend rate. My stupidity. But Jen and Alisha made it right and refunded me the difference. I thought that was great! Highly recommend this campground!

Such a beautiful campground especially during foliage! I didn’t get anyone’s names, but the girl who checked us in was fun and welcoming. And the manager helped me back my camper in with no trouble at all. The folks who are there seasonally are kind and welcoming as well! Awesome playground for the kids too!!

I always come during the weekdays for a few nights. Good value and people. Seems you have to use a golf cart to go anywhere. Felt odd walking or on a bike. Nice pool, especially when there are less kids. Bathrooms need some attention: Dark stalls and showers, no hooks for clorhes or benches to use for un/dressing.

People were super friendly. Facilities needed to be cleaned more. The sites were very rocky and small. It appeared to be getting many updates. We saw great potential if they get the updates done and get a better cleaning crew.

We should have checked the events page, we did not know a band would perform a sound check for an hour before playing until well after dark. Signage to the campsites did not exist and the map scale is elementary school grade, we took 3 wrong turns and ended up 5 minutes down a construction road before turning around again to find it. 5 golf carts drove down what should have been a dead-end, but apparently is just an off-roading loop for carters. One even brought both their dogs running past our campsite off leash setting off a "holy-shit!" with our leashed dogs. Would not recommend, will not visit again. 2 stars for cleanliness and friendliness, but it is not a campsite.

I was hopeful that this would be a place that me and my family would frequent but after our first trip, I will honestly say that will not be the case. We were brought to our site since it was our first time and told where to park the camper. Come to find out the following day, they put us on the wrong site. Luckily the people coming in were nice enough to take the other site so we didn't have to move. The seasonal campers have zero consideration for the people visiting for the weekend, or for anyone really. One seasonal site blasted music until 11pm to the point where we could feel the bass 3 sites away. Not appreciated by a family with little kids. The pool was nice, but the playground was rundown and dangerous. Save your money and the headache.

Very nice campground. Spacious sites with lots of trees for shade. Pool and store are good. Only issues we had were the kids that kept walking thru our site. I mean like right in our site. And the paper work you get when you check in did not include a map, wifi info or weekend activities most campground do or they give you that info on check out. We will be back in the future mabey for another try.

Went up to the gate before office closed and our code did not work. Had to walk into the campground to find someone. Called me after we found the manager to tell me they’re having problems with the gate and no one knew we had a reservation. Don’t recommend the tent site, we ended up sleeping in the car and leaving early in the morning. Map says there’s bathrooms next to the tent sites but it’s a gross porta pot. The manager was nice, I’ve just been the better campgrounds. Not well kept or organized. Lost out on another night we paid for, no one answered back phone call.
