We had a great relaxing time at Sleeping Bear Retreat! We tent camped at #4. It was quiet and everything we needed (food & ice) was available for purchase . The bathhouse was clean and importantly, the water was hot for showers! We arrived by motorcycle and were able to park right by our tent. The view overlooking the pond was really nice, we would definitely stay again.

Very interesting property with plenty of activities and trails! Covered wagon was clean, ample lighting for night and ac/heat worked great. Also had space fan, plenty of electrical outlets if someone needed that. Bathrooms/showers were perfect for camping. Hot and cold water worked great. Can't wait to go back!

We had an amazing time here! The tipis are awesome. The grounds are extremely beautiful. Bathrooms are noce and clean, with hot showers. A very near rustic sink to use to wash hands and dishes. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Their pets also loved to come see us! 10/10 would recommend!

Our group was extremely disappointed. We actually left early the first morning instead of staying all weekend :( It was run down and did not match the pictures on the website. One (definitely not modern) sink for all bathrooms to share. Two of the four were padlocked. There was a group of people with the bathrooms blocked by tables and chairs for several hours. They were loud and obnoxious (cursing) until 2:00 in the morning

Campground Response

you not having a great experience with us is unfortunate but could I ask what you mean by run down?? I work very hard on the up keep of this place. what photos are you speaking of as I have many photos of different times of the year and yes different years, am I supposed to delete all my old photos of past good times?? by that standard I would have to do a new photo shoot every month. I searched many places to get that sink as I thought it was unique to the setting we have. as for the pad locked restrooms, one was being serviced and the other is the utility room, as for the obnoxious people I have no idea as I was not informed of any such activity but sadly those kind of people are everywhere.

Covered wagon was awesome, comfy cots. Rain got in the way of a fire but we still had a nice time relaxing in our covered tent with heat. Bathrooms were clean and close by.
