Well life IS an adventure so they say,  and we’ve found ours right here in Chinook, WA.

Here at RV Park At The Bridge in Chinook, WA, the views of the Astoria-Megler Bridge are stunning! We are 1/2 mile West of the Astoria-Megler Bridge on the WA side. Please be sure to look for the main East side park entrance. There is large RV PARK SIGN near the palm trees~ BE SURE TO NOT pull into neighbors private driveways. TY.

The sunrise, the sunset, and the lights of the city of Astoria, Oregon are a real draw for many. Others just love the convenience of being so close to Astoria, Oregon (4 miles across the bridge) yet vacation or live in Chinook, WA.

The previous owners of the RV Park (formerly known as Mauch's Sundown RV Park) became our friends and they knew that with my husband’s skill set (and my hospitable nature), we were the right ones to take over the RV Park when they retired. How could we pass up the opportunity to invest in a Pacific County community, the people who live here in Chinook, WA and those who vacation on the OR & WA Coast? We continue to upgrade and beautify the RV Park...and love on y’all. We feature full hookup  RV sites along with a few tent sites for those seeking more traditional camping.

The mouth of the Columbia, Buoy 10 and the Pacific Ocean are known for their plentiful bounty~Sturgeon, Salmon (Chinook & Coho), Tuna, Halibut, Bottom fish, etc are waiting for you!

Visit Columbia River Maritime Museum, The Astoria Column, The Captain George Flavel House Museum especially if you are a Goonie! Challenge yourself at High Life Adventures and go for a thrilling zip line. Visit Historical Fort Stevens State Park & Fort Clatsop...or have a beer at local brewery. New breweries, cider houses and distilleries are just around the corner, so what are you waiting for? Create your adventure!

In WA, check out Fort Columbia Historical State Park, Cape Disappointment and their Waikiki Summer Concert series. Visit Fort Canby State Park in Ilwaco, WA. & North Head Lighthouse. Take a hike, ride a bike, enjoy kayaking or just go fly a kite at the International Long Beach Kite Festival.

We welcome you to stay with us @ RV Park At The Bridge!

This is of the east side closer to the Astoria Megler Bridge. We have two premium, 50 amp sites #1 & #2. And two pull through sites 50 amp or 30, #4 & #6.

Wanting more adventure? Check out some favorites!

  • Clark’s Dismal Nitch 230 US101- about ½ mile east of the Park. Dismal Nitch was an important part of Lewis & Clark expedition. They had made their way across the country, only to be stuck here for nearly a week waiting out a fierce winter storm in 1805. Informational signs will guide you.
  • Middle Village Station Camp 354 US101, Chinook WA- about 2 miles west of the Park. There is a paved parking lot that is just off the highway with some RV and bus parking. Enjoy the smooth footpath all the way around through the park. Easily walkable. Wheelchair accessible. It’s about a half mile long. There are several observation decks where you can look out over the area, and lots of informational signs. An interesting feature is the three large concrete canoes where kids are welcome to climb on and enjoy.
  • Fort Columbia State Park 475 US101, Chinook WA- about 3 miles west of the Park. A great example of a pre-World War II coast artillery fort with interpretive signs to explain what you're seeing. It provides a vivid glimpse into the history of the area. The museum in the barracks building provides history of the area and the use of the fort over the years. The movie is excellent! It was a beautiful place for a picnic lunch. Don't miss the Powerhouse trail. It is short, interesting and has a beautiful view.
  • North Head Lighthouse Fort Canby State Park, Ilwaco, WA Beautiful forest trails meander their way to 2 historic lighthouses. A great shooting location for photographers! Ideal for families, children and dogs. Amazing beaches too!

Very nice park. Theresa was was very pleasant to talk to and it was nice and quiet

Campground Response

Thank you Brandon for your kind words. We very much appreciate you choosing to stay with us. Yes, site 25 is a little further off the road but still good views, Wi-Fi service, and close to the bath house. One of my favorite sites in the park! Happy travels!

Our stay at RV Park At The Bridge was perfect. We were just passing through and stayed one night. Communication with Theresa was great and she helped redirecting us to a more appropriate spot on a late rainy afternoon. We had a restful night's sleep and would stay again when in the area. Thank you, Theresa, it was nice meeting you and discovering our common connections!

Campground Response

Hi Nancy, so happy that we connected!! Glad to provide you a lovely safe spot to enjoy a good rest! Happy travels my friend!

Carol Black

Great RV park for the road weary traveler. View the bridge and water. Easy on/off Route 101. Although it rained both days, the sites have enough gravel that you can still walk your dog. Small park but with clean restrooms and laundry room. Nice grassy areas and community fire rings. Road traffic noise to be expected, but quiet at night. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Manager Theresa communicated through text with necessary information about checking in. 5 stars for convenience, contact info, and traveler amenities.

Campground Response

Hi Carol. Thank you for taking time to review our park! Very informative & helpful. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to the next time. Happy travels, Theresa

We stayed for a night here on our way back from Northern CA. They were great support helping the 2 rigs get into the park spots. Owner is very nice. Has the cutest creek running through it. The only downside is the road noise... but not a deal breaker. Gorgeous view of the bridge and river. great spot to hang out and go visit Astoria!

Campground Response

Thank you Deb for your awesome review! We too love the views. Noise not so much either but there's nothing I can do about that.. until next time, happy travels! Theresa

Chris

Great hosts, very helpful. Location is very noisy as it's RIGHT next to highway 101. Most spaces are narrow and all gravel. We were parked next to Office and it did fit our 40ft trailer.

Campground Response

Hi Chris, thanks for the review. We take pride in serving our guests! Yes we are on 101 but have some sites backing up to the little creek that are quieter. Happy travels, Theresa

James Nimesgern

too much mud. not maintained very well. road noise. too many long term people. very nice restrooms

Campground Response

Hi James, Sorry it was such a deluge of rain the days you were here. We very much enjoy our thoroughly vetted full-timers. We are a drug-free drama free park. They are bread and butter during the down months. Thank you for the comment about our restrooms. We very much take pride in keeping our park welcoming and clean!

Randy Koth

Very clean RV park. Helpful staff Most of all we had a beautiful view of the Columbia River out our side windows!

Campground Response

Thank you Randy for all those. Pretty little stars! Yes, the views of the river are fantastic and you were certainly in a primo spot! Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We hope to accommodate again in the future.. Happy travels, Theresa

We were booking a last minute road trip and could not find our usual type of campground. This is what was available. For RVs this would probably be great. For smaller rigs, so-so. Likely 5 Stars if you were in a 28' rig wanting/needing full hookups. However, we were in a Volkswagen Eurovan and were the smallest rig in the whole place. Spots were extremely close to each other. From our perspective, 3 stars. But....lovely location right across from the mouth of the Columbia River. It was on a busy highway. Not a big thing if you were inside your rig watching TV. Kind of noisy to us. Park was clean and the restrooms spotless. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Overall we had a good stay but next time we will look for a campground that is more our style.

Campground Response

Thank you for taking time to give us a review. Glad we're able to accommodate you on such short notice and on such a busy week in August. Happy travels.

Great stay parked right next to my friends loved the view across the river looking at Astoria the bridge and all the ships coming and going.

Campground Response

Thank you Allen for taking time to give us a great review. Glad you enjoyed your time here. We too love watching all the ships and the river views! Be well and we hope to accommodate in the future! PS your friends in site 6 are awesome! We love our repeat guests! Until next time, be well! Theresa

Larry Holt

Lovely location, right on the water. Facilities were well kept and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Downside: it is right on US 101 and the road noise when outside is pretty high. Inside we slept just fine. It is a really nice place, more so if you are a 35 foot rig with 4 slide outs. The spots are parking spaces that just barely fit modern RVs. We have a VW Eurovan Camper and we were by far the smallest, least tricked out unit in the park. This place was nice, but just not our kind of place. We are more the National/State/County park type of campers. We booked late and this is what was available.

Campground Response

Thank you Larry for your review! Our park has been an RV Park since the 40s and was designed for smaller RVs at the time. However we have a number of sites for Big Rigs (45') that are easy to get in & out of. Happy travels, Theresa

Darla Brown

4.0
nice owners and camp hosts

Campground Response

Thank you Darla. It was nice to meet you and glad you were able to spend time with a lifelong friend! I love seeing people enjoy the property & the little creek!

Angela Arnold

This is a great little park. The views are spectacular across to Astoria. The hosts, Sheila and her husband, were the friendliest we have encountered in our full time travels. They really made us feel welcome. The only negative is the traffic from 101. If you are sensitive to noise, it might be a problem for you. We would definitely return.

Campground Response

Thank you Angela for your helpful review. We look forward to accommodating next time. Happy trails, Theresa!

Barbara Shugart

No space for chairs, no picnic table at our site. No space for cooking outside. Crammed between 2 other rvs. Made my reservation months in advance and had the worst spot. Very disappointed

Campground Response

Hi Barbara. Yes you made your reservation end of April for July, and by that point we were already fairly booked. We offered you a site that had nobody to the left and right of you but you chose number 11 because of the sweet little deck to have your cocktail on. Had you expressed your disappointment at your choice, we would have been happy to permit you to move. A picnic table would have been no problem to provide either. Sorry you felt you were unable to communicate any of this to us at the time. We wish you happy travels, Theresa

Randy Hawks

Great little campground. Host very helpful. Close to Astoria for exploring. Beautiful view of the Columbia River.

Campground Response

Thank you Randy for choosing to stay with us! Glad you enjoyed the area and our close proximity to a variety of activities and sights! Happy travels, Theresa

Lorae Winnett

Great location, the laundry room was nice and clean. Cute little stream running through it and some nice common areas. The big rig RV spaces are very tight. Very little space between trailers and not much backup space from where vehicles are parked to where the RV’s are parked. Our RV was backed in to early one morning when another guest was leaving. Hosts are so nice and very helpful!!

Campground Response

Thank you Lorae for your review. It's helpful for others and we appreciate it very much! Thanks for staying with us! Happy travels, Theresa
