Well...life IS an adventure so they say! And we’ve found ours right here in Chinook, WA.

Here at RV Park At The Bridge in Chinook, WA, the views of the Astoria-Megler Bridge are stunning! (We are 1/4 mile from the  Astoria-Megler Bridge on the WA side) The sunrise, the sunset, and the lights of the city of Astoria, Oregon are a real draw for many..other just love the convenience of being so close to Astoria, Oregon (4 miles across the bridge)yet vacation or live in Chinook, WA.

We’ve been coming to this RV Park for years to enjoy the natural beauty of the Oregon Coast, the rich history of Astoria, Oregon, Chinook, Ilwaco, Long Beach Peninsula and enjoying the Columbia River bounty. Fishing the mouth of the Columbia River or crossing the bar and fishing the Pacific Ocean is amazing! and fun...and I’m hooked!

The previous owners of the RV Park (formerly known as Mauch's Sundown RV Park) became our friends and they knew that with my husband’s skill set (and my hospitable nature), we were the right ones to take over the RV Park when they retired. How could we pass up the opportunity to invest in a Pacific County community, the people who live here in Chinook, WA and those who vacation on the Oregon Coast & Washington Coast? We are excited to continue to upgrade and beautify the RV Park...and love on y’all.

Explore along the Columbia River where Lewis and Clark Expedition took place. Visit Columbia River Maritime Museum, The Astoria Column, The Captain George Flavel House Museum especially if you are a Goonie! Visit Fort Stevens State Park & Fort Clatsop...Or have a beer at Fort George Brewery. New microbrews are popping up as well as distilleries.

In WA, check out Fort Columbia Historical State Park, Cape Disappointment and their summer concert series,  Visit Fort Canby State Park in Ilwaco, WA. & North Head Lighthouse. Take a  hike, enjoy kayaking, or just go fly a kite at Long Beach Kite Festival.

Please come visit, or stay a while. Consider RV living permanently!

We welcome you to RV Park At The Bridge!

I recently stayed at this RV Park. It has been under new ownership for a year and this couple are doing a beautiful job of getting it fixed up. I arrived at sunset and Preston directed me into the site and helped me hook up the essentials. Both Preston and Theresa are warm and welcoming. The view was fabulous, encompassing the bridge to Astoria; it's twinkling lights and an vermilion sunset! I wish them all the best in their new endeavour!

Laura Farmer

We're just home from our first weekend of RV vacationing. We happened upon this RV park option and chose it for its view and close proximity to Astoria. Teresa was so sweet and welcoming. We pulled in late on Friday night in the rain and she was quick to come out and welcome us and help get us settled and hooked up. (Like I said, we're new at this!) We enjoyed a night of playing cards outside on the nice wood picnic tables provided and watched the beautiful sunset over the horizon. We will look forward to staying here again as Teresa made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. Clean bathrooms, showers and dressing rooms, laundry too! Oh and and a nice dog area for "business" too.

Campground Response

Thank you Laura for your kind words. It was pleasure meeting you all and so glad your stay was great!! See you next time. Happy trails!

An OLD aerial view..but the park is divided about equally East & West by a little Creek.

Clark’s Dismal Nitch 230 US101- about ½ mile east of the Park. Dismal Nitch was an important part of Lewis & Clark expedition. They had made their way across the country, only to be stuck here for nearly a week waiting out a fierce winter storm in 1805. Informational signs will guide you.

Middle Village Station Camp 354 US101, Chinook WA- about 2 miles west of the Park. There is a paved parking lot that is just off the highway with some RV and bus parking. Enjoy the smooth footpath all the way around through the park. Easily walkable. Wheelchair accessible. It’s about a half mile long. There are several observation decks where you can look out over the area, and lots of informational signs. An interesting feature is the three large concrete canoes where kids are welcome to climb on and enjoy.

Fort Columbia State Park 475 US101, Chinook WA- about 3 miles west of the Park. A great example of a pre-World War II coast artillery fort with interpretive signs to explain what you're seeing. It provides a vivid glimpse into the history of the area. The museum in the barracks building provides history of the area and the use of the fort over the years. The movie is excellent! It was a beautiful place for a picnic lunch. Don't miss the Powerhouse trail. It is short, interesting and has a beautiful view.

North Head Lighthouse Fort Canby State Park, Ilwaco, WA Beautiful forest trails meander their way to 2 historic lighthouses. A great shooting location for photographers! Ideal for families, children and dogs. Amazing beaches too!
