Well...life IS an adventure so they say! And we’ve found ours right here in Chinook, WA.

Here at RV Park At The Bridge in Chinook, WA, the views of the Astoria-Megler Bridge are stunning! We are 1/2 mile West of the Astoria-Megler Bridge on the WA side. The sunrise, the sunset, and the lights of the city of Astoria, Oregon are a real draw for many. Others just love the convenience of being so close to Astoria, Oregon (4 miles across the bridge) yet vacation or live in Chinook, WA.

The previous owners of the RV Park (formerly known as Mauch's Sundown RV Park) became our friends and they knew that with my husband’s skill set (and my hospitable nature), we were the right ones to take over the RV Park when they retired. How could we pass up the opportunity to invest in a Pacific County community, the people who live here in Chinook, WA and those who vacation on the OR & WA Coast. We continue to upgrade and beautify the RV Park...and love on y’all. We feature pull thru RV sites along with tent sites for those seeking more traditional camping.

Explore along the Columbia River where Lewis and Clark Expedition took place. Visit Columbia River Maritime Museum,The Astoria Column, The Captain George Flavel House Museum especially if you are a Goonie! Challenge yourself at High Life Adventures and go for a thrilling zip line. Visit Historical Fort Stevens State Park & Fort Clatsop.. or have a beet at Fort George Brewery. New breweries & cider houses are popping up, as well as distilleries, so what are you waiting for? Create an adventure!

In WA, check out Fort Columbia Historical State Park, Cape Disappointment and their Waikki Summer Concerting series. Visit Fort Canby State Park in Iiwaco, WA. & North Head Lighthouse. Take a hike, ride a bike, enjoy kayaking or just go fly a kite at the International Long Beach Kite Festival.

Please come visit, or stay a while.

We welcome you to RV Park At The Bridge!

An OLD aerial view..but the park is divided about equally East & West by a little Creek.

Wanting more adventure? Check out some favorites!

  • Clark’s Dismal Nitch 230 US101- about ½ mile east of the Park. Dismal Nitch was an important part of Lewis & Clark expedition. They had made their way across the country, only to be stuck here for nearly a week waiting out a fierce winter storm in 1805. Informational signs will guide you.
  • Middle Village Station Camp 354 US101, Chinook WA- about 2 miles west of the Park. There is a paved parking lot that is just off the highway with some RV and bus parking. Enjoy the smooth footpath all the way around through the park. Easily walkable. Wheelchair accessible. It’s about a half mile long. There are several observation decks where you can look out over the area, and lots of informational signs. An interesting feature is the three large concrete canoes where kids are welcome to climb on and enjoy.
  • Fort Columbia State Park 475 US101, Chinook WA- about 3 miles west of the Park. A great example of a pre-World War II coast artillery fort with interpretive signs to explain what you're seeing. It provides a vivid glimpse into the history of the area. The museum in the barracks building provides history of the area and the use of the fort over the years. The movie is excellent! It was a beautiful place for a picnic lunch. Don't miss the Powerhouse trail. It is short, interesting and has a beautiful view.
  • North Head Lighthouse Fort Canby State Park, Ilwaco, WA Beautiful forest trails meander their way to 2 historic lighthouses. A great shooting location for photographers! Ideal for families, children and dogs. Amazing beaches too!

I knew about this park over 20 years ago, I've driven by and glanced at the park and it just seemed like a gravel parking lot with hook ups that seemed close to the main road up the peninsula. This year I was looking for a place to stay on the peninsula that was close to Astoria. I read the reviews on how the hosts worked to turn this park into what it is today. Impressed I made reservations. Theresa responded quickly and was very friendly and cheerful. She asked me a few questions and based on my answers moved me to a larger site to accommodate my rig and tow vehicle. I originally was going to car dolly my toad but last minute complications with the dolly forced me to flat tow my toad. Also I made a mistake with the nights I planned on staying up there and Theresa was very accommodating and helpful. The park is very nice, they have done an excellent job of making you feel welcome with their personalities and flowers. The view out our front window was amazing. There was road noise but we weren't bothered by it at all. We'll be back.

Perfect place to stay while exploring Astoria or the dozens of smaller towns north and south on the 101 in this area. The hosts were extremely gracious with our late arrival. Bathrooms have nice amenities, very clean and close to all RV spots. Absolutely beautiful view of the bridge and Astoria. We will definitely look to stay here any time we are visiting the northern Oregon and southern Washington coasts!

The Park was great and location had great views. the weather did not go well. but a great trip thank you

Campground Response

Hi Gregory! Thanks for the great review. We love the views and location as well. Midwinter weather tho is certainly something to contend with. Surprise! Snow? Ice & wind storm? Thank goodness you had a generator! Be well friends!

My wife and I needed a spot to park our rig for a weekend getaway at the coast. This was exactly what we needed. It’s clean, well located, and affordable. Bath house is small but secure and well maintained and we were able to enjoy hot showers. It was a bit of a squeeze to back in but the camp host was ready for our arrival and expertly guided us in. The location can’t be beat-you are right across the bridge from restaurants and entertainment in Astoria, or head the opposite direction and explore Cape Disappointment, Long Beach and surrounding area. The view of Astoria’s lights at night is a treat. We will stay there again.

Campground Response

Thank you Brian for your most excellent five-stars! We have worked hard to create an enjoyable place to rest after all the fun exploration in the area! Surely this will be a very helpful review for others! Happy trails and hope to accommodate you both at another time!

Maricela Keifer

We had a wonderful stay at the park. Awesome views and it was centrally located to various places and beaches to visit. Theresa and Preston were great and we had the opportunity to check out the view from the deck. We will be back and hope to bring others with next time!

Campground Response

Thanks Brian and Maricela! We enjoyed your visit and look forward to your return! Be well friends, Preston and Theresa

Ann Fricke

We stayed for a quick overnight in early August. When I made the reservation they said if they were full we may have to dry camp as it was a weekend and we only needed one night. That was fine with us. So....they were full...they called to let me know. Got there...the host were great and showed us to our spot. It was perfect. The deck is a great place to view the lights of Astoria. The hosts and owners are awesome. Bathrooms are great. They are working hard to make the park a special place. If we are back in the area we would stay longer.

Campground Response

Thank you Ann for your review! I think it's really helpful for people to know that communication is key and, yes, we do put a lot of effort into providing special spaces for campers to enjoy, relax and connect. We very much appreciate your words, heart and encouragement. Preston (& Brinley & I...when she wasn't bouncing around as 5-year-olds do🤸) really appreciated and enjoyed convo with you both on the deck! We would love to spend some more time sharing stories! Until then be well friends, Preston and Theresa.

Andrea Smith

David Witiak

Clean and well cared for. Bathroom were like being at home. Laundry was good. They have a little patio area where you could have a glass of wine and watch the river. WiFi was strong and free. The camp hosts were from Iowa, what more could you want?

Campground Response

Okay David you know Kathy and Dave really loved that last part there lol!! Thank you so much for your helpful review. And yes that little deck was such a great addition! Happy trails, Theresa

Russell Stewart

Loved the hosts, decorations, our spot, it was beautiful!...Wish the owners would not display their political views and make it a non political park.

Campground Response

Thanks for the five stars Russell! Glad you enjoyed your spot and we're able to relax! We support our 1st responders!

Lynne DeLano

The campground is very pleasant & tidy and bathrooms/showers/laundry facilities are excellent. The hosts/owners are personable, helpful and aim to please. View is great and access to explore the area is excellent. The only downside is it's location right on busy Highway 101 which is noisy and scary with big rigs. Too scary to go for walks or bike rides.

Campground Response

101 does get busy. Both not good and good. You are right..we are a great location from which to go explore. TY for staying with us Lynne.

Kimberly Nelson

We were so impressed with this place. We drove in and the camp hosts were expecting us and called out to us by name to welcome us and show us the ropes. They gave us great advice about where to visit over the next couple of days and we were so grateful since that wasn’t even on our radar and it ended up being epic! The bathrooms and showers were very nice and clean and centrally located. We met the owner later that night and she was so friendly and accommodating. Our one and only suggestion for improvement would be the WiFi. It only worked if you were outside and closer to the access point. We also enjoyed the views from the upper part of the park, with beautiful views of the bridge and river

Campground Response

Looking into installing more extenders for the Wi-Fi. I'm so glad the places you ended up visiting were in fact 'epic' as you said! I love them too! Happy trails & hope to catch you next time too!

The camp hosts were excellent. The location was central to both the Oregon and Washington beaches. This sites were well maintained. The owner however was a supreme pain in the posterior. About an hour after we had set up the owner asked us to move after another customer placed their rig too close to us and then asked again saying she had another person she needed accommodate. We moved the next AM but no one showed up in our original spot. She did not apologize or even acknowledge our efforts to break down and re-set up. Again I place no fault on the camp hosts - they were helpful and friendly.

Campground Response

Hi Douglas~ had you given me all the information needed to book a site appropriate for your size, a move would not have been necessary. Glad we could accommodate your special circumstances. Ended up looking like the site provided you exactly what you needed! Happy trails.
