Rock Hound State Park

Overview

Located on the rugged slope of the Little Florida Mountain range is the Rockhound State Park. Named after people who search the land for precious stones, the area is known to have an abundance of agates and quartz crystals. Several hiking trails also provide spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, and an easy means of taking pictures and witnessing gorgeous New Mexico sunrises and sunsets. Bike trails are also available, as are several winter activities and a small nearby swimming beach.

Amenities at this park include: 30 amp sites, water, a playground area, showers, restrooms, tent camping, big rig sites and pull thrus. For a peaceful visit and a chance to experience the beautiful southwest landscape, reserve a spot early and head over to Rockhound!
