I remember living there when it was the base Mobil Homes park back in 1985- 1988. I have such good memories of that base. It looks so different now.

Prairie Pines is just a short drive from the University of Illinois campus. Prairie Pines is in a rural area with trees, water, electric, and a waste hookup. What makes Prairie Pines a "5 Star" is the friendly people and staff. We locked ourselves out of the camper right before a graduation ceremony. I was in a panic. The staff came right over, helped explore options, and found a drill so we could drill the lock. Both neighbors offered to assist. It was a pleasure to meet people who are kind and caring!

About a mile south of Rantoul Illinois it was originally the trailer park for servicemen when the airbase was built, is now a pristine campground...all full hookup sites, near Champaign, the Chanute air museum is a must even if you're not a war or plane fan, the old exhibits are still great...very clean, quiet, and friendly hosts...would recommend and give it 6 stars out of a possible 5 - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
