Pinon Hills RV Park is located two miles West of Capitan, New Mexico along Highway 380.  Since you're coming to the country, why not stay where it feels like country.  The park is near the Smokey Bear Historical Site, Lincoln, Fort Stanton and Ruidoso.  Capitan boasts the nicest small town grocery in the county with an old fashioned meat market.  The closest big town is Ruidoso, a thirty minute drive.  The park is located near meadows and country farmlands, so look out for the occasional cow, horse, deer or elk.   Free range chickens roam the campground.  The RV spots are conveniently larger than normal so slide outs and rig size aren't an issue.  You will love how you aren't met with a list of rules and paperwork, come and visit a simpler time.

Amenities at this park include: big rig access, pull thrus, water, sewerage, WIFI, 30/50 amp sites, and it is a pet-friendly campground. We can't wait to see you there!

Great place to unwind from your busy life. It's kick back and relaxed atmosphere,is a must. 2 miles from Capitan, a great grocery store, and several resturants if you don't want to go to far. 30 min,a beautiful drive to Ruidoso. Inn of the mountain God's,for some lunch and gambling. There are a lot of days trips you can take.then come back to relax. Steve and Carolyn are fantastic. I will be back.

Bird's eye view of the campground from Google Maps.

Lincoln County's biggest attraction (besides Pinon Hills RV Park) is Smokey Bear Historical Park. This park memorializes the famous bear that was rescued from the Capitan Gap Fire in the Capitan Mountains. This mountain has a highest peak of 10,201 feet.

Rig or car washing

Rig or car washing is not allowed because it's not recommended. We are on well water so you really wouldn't want to spend the day rubbing the hard water spots off your vehicles.

We love dogs! We also love our chickens so if your dog is a chicken chaser, keep them on a leash. If your dog sticks close to you, no leash is required.

Check in/ Check out

Check in is after 3:00pm. There is no need to contact the office before you park and set up. If you arrive late, just quietly park and hook up. We already know who you are, were expecting you. Check out is 12:00pm. Contact the office if you are playing to hard to leave on time and if no one is expected to arrive in your spot, you can check out later.
