The Papalote Rancho Viejo Campsite is located in the gorgeous Big Bend National Park and is a great place for an authentic outdoor adventure. Campers can enjoy hours spent on nearby golf greens, plenty of space for ATV tours, wildlife viewing, birding and great eateries close by. Within hiking or driving distance from the campsite are a number of great natural attractions for exploring or day trips. Travelers can look forward to a number of scenic trails, such as the the South Rim Trail, Lost Mine Trail, Window Trail and Boot Canyon Trail. There are also bodies of water to explore or river raft, but visitors tend to favor the Langford Hot Springs, Cattail Falls, Santa Elena Canyon River and the Terlingua Creek. And of course, for excellent sunset viewing, stargazing, mountain biking, climbing and hiking, there's a ton of great peaks around the park. Camper favorites include: Casa Grande Peak, Mule Ears Viewpoint and Lost Mine Peak. Amenities at the park include: water, toilets, picnic tables and fire rings/grills. There's so much to do an experience near this park, you'll want to extend your stay!

This is a really nice campground for the entire family! We had a very lovely stay here. We were so welcomed by the very friendly staff that was very accommodating. There were a plethora of sites to choose from, depending on the camping we wanted. They had more than the basic amenities and I loved how many activities they had to choose from. It was really relaxing for the whole family. The park was nicely maintained as were all the facilities. I really enjoy clean utilities and facilities. I loved all the wonderful beautiful sceneries that surrounded the area. Overall this was a very relaxing place to stay for a great price. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
