Beautiful location situated in the mountains between Loveland and Estes Park near Carter Lake. Extraordinary views. Mule deer and wild turkey will walk through your campsite in the fall. Excellent staff, clean and well kept facilities. Windjammer bar and grill has excellent smoked Bar-B-Q and is literally next door. Opening again for the season May 1, 2022.

This campground is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, restful place to stay. It is a very short drive to Carter lake and not too far from Estes Park. There are no showers, however, but it was not a problem for us. Clean grounds and lots of wildlife visitors. Friendly hosts.

The owner was so sweet and very understanding. It was my first trip with my remodeled restored vintage 1981 winnobago cheften. And the rv park was clean and well maintained with a store on site. Will definitely be back for more then a night as soon as possible. Looking at reservations as i type. Love this place.

Campground Response

Thank you for the great review. Look forward to having you back!

Debbie who runs the place was very nice , it was a clean campground. I gave it three stars because the space that we were in was super tight we had a proximately 6 to 8 feet between the trailers on either side of us that’s just too small of a spot for $45 a night.

Campground Response

Scott, thanks for the review. True that some spots are tight, comes with a small, intimate campground

Perfect place to try out our new Camper. I made a mistake when I booked my reservation and the owner couldn't have been nicer! Lots of deer, wild turkeys and bunnies. We will be back!

Campground Response

Thank you Carrie!

Great location. Near a boat ramp for Carter Lake and not far from Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a short stay and arrived late due to traffic. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. We had site #14, it has a great view of a hill and it is at a corner so you have more privacy and better views. There were wild turkeys that came by and we had to stop for a herd of elk down the road on our way back from visiting RMNP. The sites were gravel and sites 11-13 were close, but others looked to have more room. We have a 36ft motor home and fit easy with a towed vehicle in our spot. Full hook up and can’t beat the price. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet place not needing an amusement park included 😊.

Campground Response

Thank you Sarah for the kind review. Yes some sites are a bit tight, but the reward is its not the fast pace of the larger campgrounds.
