We arrived well after dark and was a little difficult navigating through the fairground to our site but we made it. I had to turn the trailer around so our hookup was on the right side for the pull through. We booked online which was quite simple. Overall, the area was quiet and clean and would recommend to others. Oh, the walk to New Salem Sue the next morning is about a 1/2 mile so a nice jaunt even if it was windy and a bit raw!

What a great park!!! Very quiet and lovely grounds all around the campsites. Well lighted at night to walk my dog. The owners and New Salem obviously take great pride in caring for this property. A true pleasure staying the one night. Highly recommend!! Just be aware that this is water and electric only.

Great little campground right off interstate, yet its quiet. Sites have fire pits and picnic tables, there are dumpsters for your trash too. Would stay again if passing through the area.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Quiet, simple campground that I'll return to but, please put in a sewer system.

Everything awesome. Just need to work on getting sewer hook up. Hard to stay for a long period of time.

Nice quiet convenient place, stayed multiple times and will again. Biggest downfall, no sewer hookups. How can you have power and water with no sewer?

Very nice campground, comfortably and easy spot to set up a tent. Place at a fire ring and a picnic table. Very Quiet. Only thing that there appeared to be 1 Port-o potty pretty far walking distance but that wasn’t a huge deal to me, especially for the rate you pay a night. The place was well cared for, and it backs up against a gold course. We did leave early to try to knock off some time off of our 10 hour drive go Montana.

We can't say enough great things about our stay at North Park Campground. We are touring a large amount of North America by bicycle this summer, and have seen many Campgrounds in the last two months. As far as catering to cyclists, this Campground goes to great lengths to make your stay comfortable. We especially liked the grassy campsite surrounded on three sides by a privacy fence. The nearby shower house was super nice & clean. The attached laundry and kitchen were top notch. The kitchen had stove, oven, microwave, sink, prep area and table and chairs. Add to the fact that it was air conditioned on a 90 degree day and we say heavenly. The camp hosts were so friendly and helpful. Especially when we went to leave only to find our bike AND trailer were unusable. They worked with us as we tried to solve our issues, and even let us use the shop space to effect repairs. All this really made quite the impression on us. This is the best of the best in our experiences with campsites after thousands of miles traveled.

Campground Response

I am glad you had a good experience at your campground, but this review is not for the North Park Campground in New Salem, ND. as we do not have a shower house, laundry or kitchen.

This campground has become a regular haunt for us! It’s quiet, well kept and the cost is reasonable. Good clean power and water. Sites are all gravel and relatively level. The roads in the campground are also gravel but well kept. The grounds themselves are mowed and free of trash. There are two dumpsters located one at each end of the campground. The is one port-a-potty. No bathhouse. The sites are all back-ins except for one group site. Except for the group site, all sites face east. So your site gets lots of Sun until afternoon. There are plenty of trees on the west end of the sites so lots of shade in the afternoon. Sites have fire rings. There is no dump station but about one mile north of the campground there is a Mobil/Exxon truck stop with a dump station behind the building in the south-west side of the truck parking. Overall we love the little gem on the prairie!

North Park Campground is a well maintained, quiet park. There’s a nice playground and shade. There are many sights nearby. The one drawback is that there is no hookup for septic. If a family was staying for any length of time they might have to tear down camp and go to the local station to dump.

Very pleasant and peaceful place to stay. Easy access. Slightly confusing on the pull thru's but figured out. Will get a back in next time, very easy compared to some I've seen.

We love this park. It is quiet and widely used. To us it is a great kept secret! We were on Site 12. Loved it. Takes a little more effort to get the side to side level but not terrible. Water and electrical hookups worked as advertised. The grass was cut and there was no trash lying about. At times you can hear the traffic from the Interstate but even then it is barely noticeable. There is a portapotty on site. We did not use it. There is no shower house on site but we are self contained. Tenting will present a challenge in that respect. Overall, This Campground is excellent for those simple weekend get aways!

Really good camping experience. Quiet and just relaxing. Although we were not impressed with the water smell. Luckily we brought water bottles to drink out of. A gassy sewer smell every time you ran water. Once hooked up we did run the water lines, but it would just smell throughout camper.

This is an ideal spot for a peaceful night’s rest. With electric and fresh water hookups, it’s great and has plenty of room between sites. Also, I had made a mistake with my reservation and they adjusted it without any problems.
