Came here with great expectations for our Glacier park vacation since it was close to West entrance and looked great for camping. When we arrived to our shock they said they couldn’t find our reservation for two nights. After making us wait for almost an hour (not necessarily to help us) they dig up and found that our reservation was cancelled a month ago ! We never made any cancellation call. I am 200% sure on this. If we cancelled it a month why would we show up on the day of the reservation? They kept wrongly insisting that we canceled it and refused to accommodate us in any for the mix up they caused. For them customers n customer service don’t matter. It’s all about money n business. Imagine you are on your dream vacation and come into relax and crash onto bed after a busy day of hiking and being outside in the sun and you are told at 8 pm when most other places are closed, that your reservation was canceled. I wish there were strongest consumer protection laws to address such unruly hoteliers. At the end we made our own reservation far away paying hefty last minute prices since we had no other option.

Campground Response

We were asked to cancel this reservation because of smoke more than 30 days in advance. The gentleman received a refund per his request. We followed our policy as clearly stated. I am sorry for your inconvenience but not our fault.

I made a reservation on February 2019 for staying at the park July 18th - July 25th 2019. On February the park charged my credit card the entire amount of my staying which was $333.84 instead charge just a reservation fee. On July 11th our vehicle broke down and we were not able to make it to the park on-time. On July 12th (6 days before our arrival) I called the park to let them know we won't be able to make it because our car broke down. I was happy to let them keep the amount equal of the first 2 nights of my staying. However the park's representative very rudely informed me that they won't be able to refund any of my money and that their cancelation policy states that the cancelation has to be 10 days in advanced in order to get partial refund. The park never informed me about the cancelation policy during my reservation back in February, all they care about is money and profits and they can care less for the customer satisfaction/service. We called the park 2 days before our originally planned stay and they said they were full. So, not only they kept my money of the full stay, but they also filled the spot we had cancelled which proves the greed of the owners. If you care less for customer service and basic principles of human behavior, this is the park for you. Just keep in mind that if something doesn't go as planned, they have your credit card, they keep your money (or at least they think they do).

We had to cancel our reservation to this park because of the wildfires. We were returning to Glacier to drive the Going to the Sun Road but because of the wildfires, most of the road is closed. We gave 17 days advance notice yet were charged a $30.00 fee for cancelling. I feel it's unethical to charge this fee when it was an act of nature forcing us to cancel -- not because we just changed our minds. We'll be back to drive the road someday but we will NOT stay at Mountain Meadow RV Park.

This campground is NOT big rig friendly - sites are too short and too narrow. They don't honor specific requests for reservations - we requested 50 amp over 45' in March and today June 29 we showed up expecting what we had already paid for but they put us in a site barely big enough for a 38 foot with tow and 30 amp, then told us we could only be there for 2 days and have to move to another site - a sight that no 45' RV could park level and impossible to drive through. Good Sam Club should review this camp ground and remove the Big Rig friendly. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
