The staff was very nice, but quite honestly, for the price, there ought to be a picnic table available at every spot. Also, there was no indication of the nearby airport with flights taking off before 5:00 a.m. The women’s shower was always sandy, the floor of bathroom always looked dirty, hair in the sinks, and the garbage can in the bathroom was never emptied in the 3 days we were there. Unacceptable.

This is our 4th time staying at the Monterey County Fair RV Park. When we come, we usually stay for at least a month because of its location and with the service provided. The park is kept very tidy and clean and everyone is so friendly. We will be back!

We were given site 51 in a corner of a dusty gravel area with no shade or trees. Our site was 10 feet away from the animal waste pit which smelled really bad & had flies. I asked to shift sites but was told no. We left. This site is unfit for anyone to stay in.

After we set up and unloaded our car we had to park it in a lower parking lot. Very inconvenient cuz we keep stuff we need in our car. Bathrooms need to be deep cleaned. There is a pretty severe grade in the upper parking area. Our trailer almost couldn't get level. The sewer/electric/water hookups are shared by 2 sites and they were on the wrong side of our trailer - inconvenient again. Staff is very friendly!

The people are friendly and the place is centrally located to Monterey County. Little dusty in the gravel camping spots.

Pros and Cons of staying at the MCF. PROS - You cant beat the location. Central to most activities in Monterey. You are within 5–10 minutes of downtown and 15 minutes of Carmel. For the most part, the grounds are clean. CONS There is a fire station close by. Airplanes are taking off and landing. There are 2 areas to camp, up above on pavement and down below on dirt. The dirt area needs to be cleaned up. Knee-high weeds where you park. It seems like the garbage cans only get emptied maybe once a week. There are no dumpsters down below. I would stay again, but only on pavement area

The stay & price were good. Quiet by the golf course but the low flying airplanes at all hours of the day & not were not so favorable. Also the huge dip at the entrance & exit gate caused trouble for our tow trailer. We have a repair now. The on site staff were super! We would probably stay again

Mixed feelings as I didn't really have high expectations after reading some of the reviews: *2 stars for the facility and staff as (1) there is only one shower for men and one for women (2) the camp host's bull terrier rushed our leashed elderly scottie as we passed by and the only response from her was "Oh, terriers" with no apology for not restraining her dog(3) absolute inflexibility about moving us to a similar more shaded spot and (4) as mentioned in the reviews, some of the sites are not at all level and the hookups are hard to use. Take leveling blocks along with power cord and sewer extensions. *3-4 stars for the location: Even with the noise from the nearby airport, there is a nice golf course right over the fence a 10 minute walk away(some stray golf balls may show up near your RV--ours took a hit) , all the action in Monterey is a long walk, bike ride or a short Lyft ride, Carmel is just down the coast, State park facilities nearby, and it's only a three hour drive from our home. *?stars for price as it was about half the price of anything else in the area, I'll leave that up to the reader of this review. Enjoy the day, and safe travels.

This RV park is basically a nice park, with very beautiful surroundings that are Monterey Fair Grounds, which are combined with the RV Park. There were lots of bathrooms all over the park. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The price was good for the area. Some negatives: There is only one shower for men and only one for women, with poor dressing facilities. The RV sites were adequate, but only one electrical box for every two sites that had to be shared. If both RV's needed a 30A connector, one had to use a 50A converter on the same circuit.

Nice grounds and close proximity to any direction you're traveling. Unfortunately, the Fairgrounds leases the property as a storage yard for rock, so the trucks are coming through to drop off loads next to the RV's. Additionally, there are planes flying overhead waking you up as early as 5:15 AM, and late at night after 11PM.

Clean park, employees are really nice. Dog park is nice, property is fun to walk around and it’s gated. However, go in knowing: there’s no WiFi, it’s a party spot, lock up your stuff and you are in the flight line. But overall we would stay again.

Location Location Location. Biking distance to the wharf and downtown. Groceries nearby. The sites are good, no problem with utilities or infrastructure at the park. They keep trash cans everywhere and empty them often which is really nice. The sites themselves are not very private, no screening or dividers. No amenities. Many blackout dates when the fairgrounds are being used. Wifi is not great. No other options this close to Monterey
