Mineral Wells and Jacksboro offer wonderful antiquing and old downtown experiences.  Two miles from the park is Perrin Grocery "aka Pirates Cove".  All convenience items for small town America as well as old time breakfast, burgers, pizza, deli sandwiches at old time prices.  They are also our areas gas station and the best aged rib eye steaks for miles.  Fresh eggs, bread and all the things you need.

Love Love this park. Very nice and clean. Tons of things to do. Very family friendly. Best place to have family reunion. So much for kids and family to do. Something always going on. Yes there are rules to follow just like other parks. They are for the best to make things safe. Treat it like your home so it is best for the next family. Prices are very reasonable. Beautiful park with lots of RV spots and the cutest down to home Cottages. Owners are very nice and accommodating. They make you and your family feel at home๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

LOVE THIS PLACE!! The owners and staff are courteous, personable, accommodating, and patient (especially with the little ones). Of course, this opinion comes from one who follows the rules and does not seek special treatment (hint to those who only gave 1 star- obey the rules!). The owners are well aware of what is going on on their business grounds, for good reason! The park is very clean, cleverly designed and themed, and family friendly. The train ride for kids is ideally scheduled at 10am and 4pm. The laundry facility is tidy with only $1 per machine. The 4 pool areas are clean with the basic extras if needed, such as life jackets (PFDโ€™s) for the kiddos. The RV sites are spaced with reasonable room and the cabins are impressive. Grills and tables are filth-free! The prices are ideal and well worth the consumer dollar. Weโ€™ll be back! This veteran owned company is worth the trip, Semper Fi!

Thank you for taking time to write these kind words. They energize us greatly. We must however set the record straight in one area. Although greatly honored with your writings, we are not of the military family. We simply are citizens that love our country and hold our military dear to our hearts. We have been asked over time if we are military, and are honored when this is suggested, perhaps it is our desire to "run a tight ship" and have the rules respected. Thanks you again for choosing Mitchell Resort for your valuable vacation time. We understand you have many options, but thank you for being here. We look forward to many more visits from your family.

Watch out campers. If you cancel they will charge you 10%. I donโ€™t see where they say they will do it on the website. We are very disappointed with them. I cancelled 2 1/2 weeks early.

Campground Response

Hello Diane- we are sorry for your experience. We do have reservations information on our webpage for event weekends that states payments are non-refundable . We did try to make you happy by refunding a non-refundable reservation by offering refund less 10% which helps offset the credit card use for both transactions. We are sorry you are still not happy and have left a review that is not a full story. We never pre-collect rv reservations unless it is an event weekend ( as yours was).

This Rv park is very nice, however, the owners are shady and accused us of smoking and having a dog in one of their cabins. The dog stayed in my parents RV and did not ever go into the cabin. My brother and his wife did not smoke in the cabin. They do smoke but they smoke where it is allowed. There clothes and other stuff have the smell on the as well as dog hair but the owners would not listen and were very rude about their accusations. On top of that their wifi is horrible and cell phone service is non existance. So if you want to pay extra be called a liar then this is the place for you. I will not go back. I would not even give them 1 star but it wont let me fix it.

Campground Response

Yes, you did smoke and have a pet in the cottage. Your Taylor Family organizer apologized to us after the family reunion. She did see the animal coming and going into the cottage. We all know there was serious smoking in that cottage. It took several days of a commercial ozinator to rid the smell from the walls .
