1-19 and 49 are on a RV loop; 20-39 are tent sites; 40-48 are pull through sites. Tents are allowed on all sites.

The Bison Plant Trail is a hiking and biking trail for the whole family! It is located nearby and popular all year long. Also, it's a great spot for birding!

In my opinion this campground is not ready to be open. The campsites are unfinished and not close to level. There is debris from the clearing of trees everywhere and the grass in the campsites is unable to be mowed due the the debris. We have a 36ft toy hauler and it was difficult getting into and out of the campground. We got our camper set up and went to bed. Around 1:00am the trains started to pass by. After 8 trains passing by and blowing the whistle I got very little sleep. I took a walk around the campground in the morning and discovered I could literally throw a rock to the train tracks. We booked 3 nights but stayed one.

Campground Response

Hello, Laurie. As the person who mows, I was wondering what you meant about unmowed and debris filled sites. Perhaps you are referring to some tent sites that are still not open? Those sites I leave unmowed until we are ready to open them. It’s true that we just turned that area from woods to campsites just a couple of months ago, so we have a lot of work left. We look forward to continuing to make improvements!

I'd rather camp in a ditch. All sites are uneven and grass/weeds were not cut so extremely unpleasant. No one was there.when I arrived to check in and give me the code for the locked facilities. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Campground Response

Hello, Yannick. The codes for the restrooms are sent in your reservation confirmation email. The sites are self check-in. If guests have lost their codes or need other assistance, our number is posted outside the office, on the sign, and on our website.

WARNING: A railroad line passes directly next to the campground. We were woken at around 5:30 by two consecutive trains coming through. This is clearly a “Work in progress" facility, which looks to be fairly nice when complete. Bathrooms need clothing/towel hooks. Should move to a soap dispenser (rather than a bar of soap) for both hygiene purposes as well as to prevent theft. Otherwise, quite clean. Please include bathroom code on check-in emails and online reservations for those who arrive late.

Campground Response

Hi, Chris! You are correct, we are brand new and just opened sites this spring! We have lots of improvements planned that we are looking forward to. Online reservations can be made through our website, mellowmoosecampground.com, regardless of check in time. The bathroom codes are included in the reservation confirmation email. Thanks for your review!

Was hooked up to a 5 Amp and was drawing 30 amps and that train was very annoying would come ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT my question is WHY WOULD YOU LAY OUT A RV CAMP GROUND BY A rail road track was woken up 3- 4 times night

Campground Response

Sadly, it’s impossible to get away from the trains in Minot. Sometimes there are no trains and sometimes the tracks are busy; there doesn’t seem to be any schedule that we can decipher. We are sad you had a poor experience; the electrician is scheduled to come and check that site.

This will be a very nice campground! They are still working on it so 4 stars for now. There is a nice bike trail super close, the bathroom/showers were private, very friendly hosts/owners. Be aware that there is a train track close, I don’t think they blow the horn at nite, anyway, I didn’t hear it! I would stay again and look forward to the finishing touches.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying with us, Lynn! We look forward to hosting you again!

Brand new camp ground has a lot of room for improvements. The train horn was a bit loud being in a tent right next to the tracks. The one thing I can see being problematic is the bathrooms there are three total only two with showers.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying with us, Selena! We are happy to say the rest of the bathrooms will be completed soon!

The hosts were great, for just starting out the campsite and campground was perfect! Reasonably priced and added another night for a great price! We came from Minnesota for the ND State Fair and were very satisfied with our whole trip.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying with us! We were happy we could host you!

Although we didn’t see any moose haha, we had the most mellow weekend tenting at this campground! It’s new, clean, full of nature, the owners were super friendly/helpful, and a super bonus was that our drive to the ndsf grounds was less than 10 minutes. I would 100% recommend this campground for your weekend stay in minot!

Campground Response

Thank you so much for your review, Katelyn! I wish we could get some trail cam photos of a moose in the campground -we’ve seen them nearby but not actually in the campground yet. 🫎We hope to host you again!

Nice folks. Will be very nice when completed. May be trying to fit too many campers in first loop. Consider spreading thing out a bit. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Campground Response

Thanks for staying with us Mike! We learned a lot this weekend and we will see what we can do to improve the first loop!
