Nice park, friendly staff, good office, pavilion and showers. Bathrooms could use an upgrade and it would be nice if camper were flat. Trails are short but offer everthing from easy to buggy.

Had a great time at the frostbite festival. Stayed in a tent in the primitive camping area. The facilities were clean and well light. Already have spots reserved for April and may.

Stayed at Kansas Rocks for a weekend event they had going on. The park was very clean as well as bathrooms were very cleaned and well stocked. The shower house was locked up do to the winter hours but everything else was amazing!

Fantastic park! Warm, welcoming staff that were very accommodating to a group of off-roaders from Minnesota. We will definitely be back!

Kansas Recreational park in Mapleton, Kansas Is really great place to camp out. Only suggestion would allow access to showers. Some campers don’t have their own showers….smilez

Campground Response

Pauline, the shower house is unlocked during our camping season. We never had any reports of the shower house being locked this past weekend, and we saw multiple people using it. Maybe the showers were full when you went to shower?

Stopped in for the weekend to hit my 31st and 32nd BOH trails. Highly recommend this park. This park is different as the rocks are smooth and slippery and the base is black dirt, not sand and gravel as most places. It rained the day before we arrived and the wet trail made for no traction conditions. Pulled a lot of winch lines. 2022 Extreme Recon Rubicon, front and rear lockers, 4.56 gears 3.5" lift 37" mud tires 12000lb winch. Front office was very friendly and helpful. 10/10 will be going back again.

The RV areas had plenty of room sites could have been leveled more. The people in the check in building were very helpful and knowledgeable. Tails had degrees of difficulty from easy for a novice to difficult if you wanted to test your equipment and driving skills.

It been 9 years since last trip to park and we was wowed. Lots of park and camping improvements. Great showers, clean restrooms, and open area for tow vehicles and RV’s. Trails well marked and made for a stressless weekend get away.

Super nice campground, vault toilets were the cleanest I’ve ever been in. Showers were great and we had a blast on the trails.

Beautiful park and great campsites. The area is a bit rocky but tons of area to find the right spot. Each spot has a nice fire pit as well as a nice big picnic table for us (metal not wood) and the staff is amazing. Shower houses are great with plenty of room for anything you need. Nice to be able to camp where you wheel. Can't wait for the next time we camp here again!

We lucked out in being the only ones in the primitive campground during the Frostbite event. Campground was spacious, not quite level but made it work and 99% clean (picked up a couple pieces of trash here and there). Couldn't hear any of the other campers from the RV lot. Trails were great, lots of variety. Maybe explored 1/3 of the property in half a day. We will be back.

The campground is very basic but also very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers are some of the cleanest I have EVER seen, and I have camped a LOT. Fully stocked, even with feminine products for the ladies which I thought was a very nice touch. There are no water hookups on the sites so be prepared for that! I was not and only had a gallon of water to last me two days and nights. :( The nearest town is about 20 minutes away so not impossible to get some but it was inconvenient. Also, there is no shade AT ALL on the sites and it is all gravel so if you're going when it's hot, bring cover! I also had to buy an adapter because the 30 amp plug they had there also worked for 50 amp but luckily they had one at their store onsite and they didn't charge stupid prices for it - it was the same as what I could've gotten it for on Amazon. Overall, very good experience and the off-road park itself is lovely. I can't wait to go back!

50 amp Electric only hook up. Store has 30amp to 50amp adapters for cheaper than Amazon. Staff was wonderful.
