Quite and very convenient good price. Having a Mexican Restaurant within walking distance was great! The only issue I had was that the wifi did not work.

Campground Response

Sorry about the wi-fi, Teresa. A big storm took out a component. It's been ordered. Hey, don't forget about our pizza and beer cafe!!! We have some really neat recipes, and we make awesome salads too!! Safe travels!

Easy access from I-70. Level sites. Clean amenities and grassy areas. Owners have a good vision; this place will be quite an “oasis” from travel in a few more years.

Campground Response

Thank you, M! Glad you like our vision! We're working on it. Enjoy your travels!

Great location with several places to eat nearby. Laundry room is excellent and staff is friendly and welcoming. Bathroms are clean but in need of an update, however there's little pressure in the showers. Regrettably wifi is nonexistent in the RV sites because a storm blew the tower. It's only available in the laundry room. Few trees for shade in the park.

Campground Response

Glad you enjoyed your stay, Francisco. Sorry about the wi-fi. That huge storm took out one of the components. It's been ordered. Yes, the park is a bit dated but because of the dated components you get a space and showers that are much bigger than typical. FYI, the toilets are only a year old. Have a nice trip!

Campground Response

Thanks for visiting! Safe travels!

Great place for overnight stay. Easy access from I-70, friendly staff, clean campground.

Campground Response

Glad you enjoyed your stay, Sarah. We are also a great park for an extended stay! There is a lot to see in middle America and Kansas holds some of the most beautiful sights of them all! Safe travels!

We stayed here overnight as we traveled west on I-70. They are far enough from the freeway that noise was not an issue. The staff is friendly. The sites were good with full hook ups. I would stay again.

Campground Response

Wonderful, Michael. We hope to see you return! Enjoy your travels!

Campground Response

Just an overnight stay for us this time through but we would stay at High Plains Camping again. Check-in was quick and easy after an easy in, easy out alongside I-70. Only used 50amp power which was excellent. Andy in the office was very friendly and efficient.

Campground Response

Thank you John! I pleased you enjoyed your stay! Come back again and stay a bit to see all the neat things in the area and try our awesome pizza in our cafe. We've got some neat recipes that you've probably never tried before! Enjoy your travels!

Office staff was nice, the park it self seems run down. They parked us in a row that was right on the freeway off ramp and was very noisy. That night it rained very hard and the next morning when we opened the door to to a lake 4- 6 inches deep that our motor home was sitting in. We couldn't get out with and un-hook utilities with out getting our feet completely wet. The low rating is due to the condition of the park, the distance to bathrooms and laundry rooms, lack of drainage when it rains, and the noise. Not what I would have expected for a Good Sam recommendation.

Campground Response

Thank you for you review, Danice. I'm sorry you stepped out into a puddle. It's supposed to rain tonight and my staff will check out your site to see what kind of "lake" appears and what modification can be done. As for "distance to bathrooms and laundry", our park is 14.9 acres with 98 potential spaces. There's no possible way every guest can be parked next to the washrooms and laundry. As for the park "condition", you should have seen it when we bought it in June 2022! You'd be praising us for all the work we've done thus far to rehab what we've done. No doubt, there is more to do...it's a work in process. Safe travels!!!

Very efficient stay for an overnighter. Easy in and out. Full hookups. Right off the interstate and fuel across the street. Good Mexican restaurant next door.

Campground Response

Thank you, Tony! Come back and try our pizza we make in our cafe located in the main building! It's awesome and we have a few really neat recipes you've likely never tried and maybe never heard of but they're delicious!! Safe travels!

Okay for the price. Bathrooms dated but clean. Friendly staff. 50 amp only, make sure you have an adapter if you’re in a 30 amp rig. No pool despite photos. Looks to have been decommissioned some time ago.

Campground Response

Glad you enjoyed your stay, Bill. All or our RV sites have 30 & 50 amp breakers except a couple that are clearly marked. If yours didn't work, we would have been happy to take a look if you had let us know. That said, good advice...smart RVers should always have extra equipment for contingencies. Yes, the building was built in 1966 so some things will not be as modern as if we built it yesterday. However, all the toilets are new water-saving, elongated 17" high modern toilets and while the shower stalls might be from 1966, they are quite roomy. So most visitors are quite pleased with those two main bathroom items. Yes, sorry, no pool. The lining was old and shredding last year, so we didn't open it this year. Good Sam has removed that pic yet. Enjoy your travels.

We loved our stay here. Thought that it would be noisy the two days that we were there. But, with the trees planted all around, you could hardly see traffic or hear road noise. Nice place. Would definitely stay again.

Campground Response

We're pleased you enjoyed your stay, Tom! We look forward to your return. Enjoy your travels!

Staff very friendly and helpfull. Convenient to I-70 with a fuel stop across the street. Highway noise was fairly moderate. Site was large enough to remain hooked up. All the utilities worked flawlessly. We did not use bath facilities so can't rate them. Great base camp to visit Little Jerusalem Badlands state park and Monument Rocks.

Campground Response

Thank you, Greg! We're pleased you enjoyed your stay. Safe travels!!

Great little campground with grass sites. Evergreen trees were totally around our area which blocked a lot of the wind. Well maintained. Restrooms were nice and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. We came in a day early which wasn’t a problem. Close to I80 but we couldn’t hear the noise.

Campground Response

Thank you for the kind words, Liz. I'm glad you felt protected from the wind coming off of I-70. It's been pretty windy these last couple weeks, but it helps keeps it cool too. Enjoy your travels!

Super nice people and the camp grounds is being updated but the accommodation were great. Everything was in good condition and very enjoyable

Campground Response

Thank you, Dale, for noticing we are continuing to update and repair the park. There's been a lot to do since we bought the park, but we continue to make it better. Clean up, paint, new trail to bathhouse, new toilets, new shower heads and curtains, create a welcoming cafe atmosphere with awesome pizza recipes, and spray to kill the burr and goat head weeds is among what we've done. What's coming is new clothes washers and, as always, continued work on the weeds. Safe travels!

Great stop on the Great Plains Highway. Full hookups with stable electric and good water pressure. Sites in the back are all grass which was nice considering the wind and dust that is Kansas. Near I 70 but we were not bothered by noise in this back section. We were in site 308 which is on an end nearest the freeway, I think. Maybe 301 would be farther from the highway. The owners are trying to make improvements and are good managers. Most visitors seem to be overnight but if you stay a day or two there are some great sites to see. I would stay here again.

Campground Response

Thank you, Sandra! We are doing our best to make improvements. In fact, we recently put in a pea gravel trail leading to the bath/shower rooms. The new clothes washers should be here soon. And, yes, we are continuing to rid the park of the sand burrs and goat heads. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Enjoy your travels!

Receptionist provided RV Repair names when the main living room wouldn't retract. Repair man showed up as soon as he could. Retracted the room in about 15 min & we were on our way.

Campground Response

So happy Travis was able to help you. Come back and see us again some time. Safe travels!

Positives: Close to the interstate. Nice grassy parking spot. Negatives: Advertised a pool, but it was not functioning (90 degrees out). Advertised laundry facilities, but only 1 of 4 washers was functioning- didn’t check about dryers because we drove several miles to a laundromat instead. I understand there are new owners, but did not see evidence of any repair work or improvements being done. In its current condition, would not stay again.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review but you are completely off-base about the washers. Three of the four are operational and my park manager explained this when you spoke with her. She tried being accommodating to your needs, but you weren't having it. That said...we just bought four new washers last week!!! We're excited!!! As for "no evidence of repair work"...seeing as how this is your first visit to our beautiful park, you wouldn't know what has been updated. So to say "nothing is being done" is kind of a disrespectful comment, I'd say. In fact, last year we installed all brand new toilets in both men's and women's restrooms, we've painted fencing, we've updated water hydrants and electrical systems, we changed all of our lighting to LED to reduce our environmental imprint, we updated our pizza cafe, we cleaned up unkept areas of the park, and now we're buying new washers. Please think about what you are saying and know what you should know before reviewing a business. We look forward to you visiting again so you can see all these things and talk with our staff to learn about the park, its' history, and the work that's being done. Safe travels!

This is a nice spot right off I70. It is an older part that was recently purchased. The entrance has lots of potholes. Travel slowly. Check-in at the office. There is a small convenience store and a cafe. A Mexican restaurant is in the front, and a gas station is across the street. The site #308 was grassy and very spacious. There was water, sewer, and electricity. Lots of bunnies made it fun. It can get very windy, so management advises you not to put your awning out. The wifi was typical park wifi. I used my Starlink. The bath house and laundry could use some TLC. Not very clean but usable.

Campground Response

Thank you for the review, Kelley. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. The entrance has been fixed as you saw our team working on it during your visit when you stopped to talk with them. I'm curious about your "bath house" comment. What exactly does "needing TLC" mean? And if it "wasn't very clean" so much so that you felt compelled to say something in a review, in the five days that you were here, why didn't you come into the office and let my management team know? My manager, Jana, checks the bathrooms twice a day for any "problems" guests left behind to clean up after and she thoroughly cleans it twice a week. So I'm having a hard time with "not very clean". As for the wi-fi, sorry about that. Actually, our wi-fi has been reviewed as the best wi-fi in any RV park BUT that said, we were having some issues with the access points and our IT guy has run an update so it should be back to "best wi-fi ever". Safe travels!

Very nice and super accommodating management. Sites nice and spacious. Mostly gravel and weeds, but, hey, this is west Kansas. Good Mexican restaurant right next door. Only 1 issue: water had to be shut off for repairs. I was told it would only take 15-20 min, however, it actually was off about 3 hours. That really was not an issue for us, though, because we visited tha Buffalo Bill Cultural Center, just missed the city antique car show and the fossil museum was closed on the weekend. We did find this neat little old timey sweet shop that had hand-dipped ice cream in a waffle cone. All in all, I'd stay there again. It's a young couple just trying to make go of the business. I hope they make it.

Campground Response

Thanks for the review, Fred. Our park managers, Andy and Jana, are great! And we've brought on two new people. Sorry for the water issue. We had a broken hydrant, and it was being a bugger to disengage from the main line. That usually doesn't happen. Glad you enjoyed the ice cream shop. I wish Fick Fossil was open for you...it's a really cool place. We hope to see you on your next trip through. Safe travels!

Fair campground. Several areas with burrs. Bathrooms: Ladie's bathroom missing toilet paper in some stalls. Men's bathroom missing toilet paper in some stalls. Two sinks need to be replaced - stains at overflow areas.

Campground Response

Well, you really upset my manager, Jerry. She took your critique very personally since she checks the bathroom twice a day and always adds a roll to the stall if the current roll is at 1/3 or below. So, she's finding it extremely difficult to believe that you found stalls completely empty of TP. As for the "stains" on the sinks at the overflow area, that is rust that naturally occurs over time. They aren't dirty and they don't need to be replaced. You must have simply caught her between rust cleanings. Safe travels!

Ok for an overnight stop. Roads need to be improved . Dog run is full of stickers I know stlckers are hard to get rid of but keep trying

Campground Response

Thank you, Carroll. The holes in the road at the entrance have been filled. We just brought on two new hands, so they were able to find time to get out there and make those repairs. That area takes a beating from the semi's pulling into the Mexican restaurant. Sorry about the stickers in the dog run. Thank you for recognizing they are a pain to get rid of and your patience. We're actually planning a little rehab to the dog run this summer. If we're able to get to that, we hope you come back and see what we've done. Enjoy your travels!

Perfect campground along the GAP. Only issue - and this was not the fault of the campground - were the incessant trains along the other side of the river who blew their air horns all night long........

Campground Response

Thank you, Michael! Safe travels!
