Near the campground is a number of excellent attractions to engage every type of camper. For the history-buff, the area is a historical hub with several museums including the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum, Eddison Museum and the Dishman Art Museum. For the nature-enthusiast, there's plenty to fall in love with surrounding the campground, such as the Beaumont Botanical Gardens, Doornbos Heritage Park and Village Creek State Park. The Beaumont Riverfront Park and Smith Lake Water Park are camper favorites, and among the many outdoor attractions, travelers can go swimming, fishing, biking, hiking, scenic viewing, sunset viewing and boating. And of course, this beautiful city is home to excellent southern restaurants and an understated nightlife ready for the urban adventurer to explore. Amenities include restrooms, showers, 30/50 amp hookups, free WiFi & free cable TV and laundry facilities. Full Hookups with both 30 and 50 amps. They have about 10 pull through sites that are used for short term stays. Long term stays are primarily back-in. Most sites are full sun, but there are a few that are shaded. Sites are reasonably large and include a picnic table (no burn puts however) and the park is big rig friendly. Sites are level and have concrete pads and the park roads are paved and generally in good condition, although drainage is a problem with a lot of large puddles forming on the roads when it rains. They ask the age of your vehicle on the registration form and the form indicates that they have the right to refuse an RV if it is in poor condition. WIFI/Cable are both available. WIFI access is through TangoNet but our experience here has been better than other parks with athe same provider. Cable is also free. They have a Laundry Room with 24/7 availability. Top loading washers are $1.25 and dryers are dryers are $1.00 for 40 minutes. Both work well and the room is very clean. Bathhouses and showers are clean and there was plenty of hot water. I was glad to find out this morning that they were also heated since it was a chilly morning. Finally, there is no pool, hot tub or play ground for children. There is a small lake with catch and release fishing. The couple who run the park are very friendly and helpful. The park is generally quiet, although there is some road noise from a near-by interstate and construction site. THere is also a train track (spur) that has some activity (one or two a day). In general, I would recommend the park for a short stay in the area or longer term (as we are intending) if you don't have children. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group
