Pro: we decided to do a getaway for a few dayys. This is a Small campground and was quiet which is what we wanted—to see the fall leaf colors changing and go to the canyon which is very close by. We had a 26’ motorhome and it’s self contained. Had no issues for electric,WiFi or sewer or leveling. John said they turn off the water on the 31st of October but we decided we camp there anyway and he kept it on for us. We saw Silhouettes of deer on the horizon at evening, birds and squirrels and our two pups enjoyed looking out the windows at the little critters. We will come again when the weather is warmer and stay longer to tour the area. Con: Would like to have trash barrel nearby to put our small amount of waste into but took it with us. Thank you John

Lots are small and only 10 of them however they are big enough to fit big rigs. We were at lot 1 on the end. Not level like lot 5 through 10. GPS is a challenge download your maps to be ready to go offline. Super close to overlooks and the farm next to camp is pretty. Wifi is spotty so be prepared. Price was right. Hookup was good.

This campground met our needs because we were traveling in a small RV with a friend who preferred a motel room or cabin. That is a difficult combination to find in the Grand Canyon of PA area. The location cannot be beat. About one mile to some attractions, 10 miles or so to Wellsboro. Firewood is ample stack at fair price. All sites have water and electric. Owner is friendly. Briefly, the motel rooms are pedestrian but serviceable. New bedspread and nicer linens. Clean but not attractive. Pretty hanging flowers on the porch. However, unless you have our specific need you may want to look further. The RV sites appear recently added, I expect primarily to serve workers during the fracking boom. They are small (our 24 foot camper van fit and perhaps another 5 or 6 feet would be possible. Fifth wheel or type A would be impossible.) No trees, etc between sites. There are around a dozen sites, cheek by jowl. We were the only persons at the campsite so this was not a problem but would be otherwise. Though the online map showed a shower house I did not see one. If you don't have your own bath, this is likely a no go. The sign said tent camping was available at $10 but I saw no tents high leaf season on a Friday night so am not certain they are currently in use. There is also a bar and restaurant in the evening. Mold issues were apparent during check in so I did not try these.

Nice stay in the mountains. John, the owner is in unassuming and respects guests privacy. Sites are level and full hookups performed just fine. Will stay here again.

We wanted a week away from everything and we got it at Grand Canyon Motel Resort and Campground. What a beautiful place! The "Grand Canyon" is about a mile down the road. That, too, was beautiful! The lounge is suitable and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Everything we tried on their menu was awesome. We highly recommend this campground.

Very tight turn for 33 foot motorhome, tree tops not cut back to go over motorhome sides, top. Sites are hard to level on. Electricity connections good, water and sewer not good. No bathhouse or bathroom for women. Property nice, back of buildings very messy. It is close to the Grand Canyon. Would not recommend unless you have a tent or small pull behind.

0/5. The “shared” bathroom was the men’s turned into a shared bathroom so as two females showering in a shared space we locked the door. The camp site had a fire ring but no grate. There was lots of junk behind the motel, where the shared showers were and it was not a good look.

So I will preface by saying this was our first rv camping experience, so this is an uneducated opinion. The campground is quiet, but no frills. The website says 30/50 hook up but it is only 50. The public showers were locked and there was no obvious place to dump our garbage. Wifi was non-existent. The owner/manager was friendly. It is a small campground with a much larger, busier one up the road. This one is small and only a handful of people were there- it was nice and quiet. The proximity is close to a watchtower, which is nice. While it lacked amenities I would expect at a commercial campground, I would return for a quiet stay.

Set out for a nice few quiet days to take in the tranquility and peace. Mission accomplished! As another party stated, not the ritz but would definitely come back. Two thumbs up for the attending of the campground owner John. Thanks again!!

This was a nice small quiet campground. We were at site #9, shared with a non/used camper, so we didn't have to share a site. Gentleman running camp very friendly and helpful. May not be the Ritz, but we enjoyed our stay ! And would come again. Thankyou, for a nice week.

What shower? No one said anything about a shower. What Wi-Fi? No one told us anything. Jammed side by side- site #3 (motorhome) it was quiet but that was the best I could say. Was very run down. This was my least favorite RV Park ever. But no sites available in the state park and this was close. Adequate for a 1 nite stopover.

Campground Response

Did you ask about showers? You did get a site with full hookup? (you did) Motorhomes do have showers in them unless you ask to know where the showers are. Did you ask for Wi-Fi password to get on the net work? By the way cell or Wi-Fi not the greatest with the amount of people in this area. Sorry your stay was not that nice.

RV site 1 had no picnic table, or fire ring. I really could have done with out the Trump flags and signs located around the facility. I see the political crap all week long and the last thing I want to see on a get away weekend is political garbage

We had a large group for a bachelorette party. Originally we had booked to stay in tent spot number 7 but had a large group and were unsure of parking due to it being fall and most of the paths were covered with leaves. I asked the owner if we could change to spot number five to accommodate our large group and he switched us without hesitation. The tent sites were very pretty in the woods especially in the fall. I would camp here again.

A campground with personality! John, the owner, wears many hats and manages a wide array of services with a laid back attitude and friendly hospitality. I loved the Labor Day weekend I spent there. The primitive campsites are nestled into the woods well; and, for John, I think there’s room for more. If your lucky enough, you might meet Fred, the pseudo-campground supervisor, a venerable one no less. The kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back, so to speak, and ensures you have a stay you’ll remember for a lifetime. I lucked out as he’s not there all the time. Although anecdotal, all this is to say, can’t wait to go back! Also, for the pragmatic types, can’t forget to mention the bathrooms were clean and the showers we hot with great water pressure. There’s also a bar with pool tables, restaurant, and more all on-site.

Second time back tent camping and we love the secluded sites.
