Lake Cunningham - also referred to as the "C", is a 390-acre lake surrounded by a 1,050-acre park located in north-central Omaha, Nebraska. The lake was constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation and opened to the public in 1977. Recreational activities included camping, no-wake boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling, picnicking, kayaking, and horseback riding.

In 2021 the park reopened after being closed for renovations and the draining of zebra mussels. The completed improvements to the park include a six-mile concrete multipurpose trail that loops around the lake and crosses over two new pedestrian bridges. The new loop trail is a never-before-seen experience that attracts both walkers and bikers, giving them the opportunity to enjoy nature and wildlife.

Lake Cunningham features the West C Campground which has 41 concrete RV sites with electrical of 20, 30, and 50-amplifications. The West C Campground also has an upgraded bathhouse facility. The East C Campground features 42 concrete campground stalls complete with water, electrical of 20, 30, and 50 amps, and sanitary at each pad as well as a new bathhouse facility. There are 7 primitive camping spots. All new grills and firepits will accompany all the campground stalls. All RV sites have access to a freshwater fill station and a dump station when you enter the campground entrance. For more information on the amenities of each campground, please visit our website

This was our first time staying here and we were very happy with the campground. Everything was very clean and well kept. Campground host was friendly and helpful. Lots of trees for shade, nice roads and walkways for bike riding. Absolutely no complaints. Only thing we wish it had but doesn't, would be a swimming area for the kids for the hot summer months.

Delightful stay. Very clean campground with plenty of trees and beautiful atmosphere with the lake nearby. Highly recommend

This was a great campground. Really nice host and beautiful scenery. The only reason I could not give this place a 5-star rating is: It says that you have 50-amp but the electrical pedestal at my site was not wired right. When I plug into it my surge protector, it stated that L1 was missing. I could not run my bedroom AC unless I plugged into the 30-amp plug. Good thing it was not hot at the time I was camping.

The park is Beautiful. Can’t wait to go back!

Awesome campground! Can’t wait until full hook up area is open! Spacious sites. Only disappointment is only one shower in restrooms.

I had a very good weekend with family and friends. Although, I don't like paying for showers after paying for campsite and then supplying cold water while we were showering. The downfall is they only have 7 tent camping sites and seem to cater to people that own RVs but overall it was a good time.

The host was very nice and very helpful. The newly opened camp sites were very easy to get into and had wonderful views of the lake. The security at the campsite made us feel very comfortable.

Spic and span as always. Safe with super helpful staff. Families that one meets are so personable, kids, dogs are plentiful and well behaved. Site 41W has a street light that’s prob too bright for a campsite.

Enjoyed a great site, clean and well taken care of. The only negative comment I have is about the wind but nothing that can do about that. Easy in and out. We stayed with a 35 ft travel trailer.

Amanda McHendry

We had a wonderful time at Lake Cunningham! It was our first time taking our 3 year old camping. The playground is super close to the tent sites and she loved that she could play all day. The bathrooms are nice and clean. Camp host was amazing and made us feel immediately welcomed. The bike path around the lake is wonderful. We had a really great time!

What a pleasant surprise! Lake Cunningham is a camper's paradise! In the city limits, but it feels like I've driven miles to find a fabulous campground. It was private, beautiful and AMAZING! The new pads and bath houses were worth the wait. The Camp Host, Supervisor and Brook and Amy (Managers) were so welcoming and accommodating! I will be back but know I will have to book well in advance because this jewel will be "discovered" soon. Lake Cunningham staff, keep up the EXCELLENT work! We appreciate you.

Deneen Glass

Loved all the improvements and all the shaded campsites. Only thing I would change is if they have to charge a dollar for the showers at least give a twenty minute shower. Five minutes for a quarter is fair rate. Otherwise they are already adding water to each campsite. And the whole park is beautiful.

Campground Response

Hi Deneen - Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback, we appreciate it!
