Lake Cunningham Campground is CLOSED for the season. We will be announcing our 2022 opening date this winter. Please check our website for this information. Thank you for a first great season open. We hope to “C” you soon!

Lake Cunningham is a 390-acre lake surrounded by a 1,050-acre park located in north-central Omaha, Nebraska. The lake was constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation and opened to the public in 1977. Recreational activities include camping, no-wake boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling, picnicking, disc golf, archery and horseback riding.

Completed improvements at Lake Cunningham include a six-mile concrete multipurpose trail that loops around the lake and crosses over two new pedestrian bridges. The new loop trail is a never-before experience that will attract both walkers and bikers, giving them the opportunity to enjoy nature and wildlife.

Lake Cunningham has 42 new campground stalls (East C) complete with water, power and sanitary at each pad as well as a new bathhouse facility. In addition, 41 upgraded camping stalls (West C) are in the existing campground with upgrades to the current bathhouse and advances to the electrical from 20 to 50 amplification. There are 17 tent camping spots. New grills and firepits will accompany all of the campground stalls. Neighborhood Offshore provides kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals and classes that are accessible for park-goers and to our Lake Cunningham campers. Located at Pad site #20 on the West C Campground. Non-camping customers must park in Entrance #1 (marina) and walk over the marina pedestrian bridge to site #20 in the West C Campground to check-in. Open 7 days a week by appointment (https://neighborhoodoffshore.com/)

Security cameras and lighting have been integrated at park entrances and parking lots to ensure the safety of visitors. Other entrance renovations include new gates, signage, and newly paved parking lots. All shelter buildings around the park have been renovated,1,100 new trees have been planted, and old trees and overgrown areas have been removed. The marina docks have been restored with previous amenities for slip holders. The former trademark lighthouse has been reconditioned and stationed at the docks as the lake’s focal point. New restroom buildings will accompany the Marina and the campground.

Loved all the improvements and all the shaded campsites. Only thing I would change is if they have to charge a dollar for the showers at least give a twenty minute shower. Five minutes for a quarter is fair rate. Otherwise they are already adding water to each campsite. And the whole park is beautiful.

Beautiful surroundings. My dogs appreciated the grass (yes we cleaned up).

Can’t wait for the water hook up! Will definitely be back. Only negative comment is being next to the dumpster for the 7:00 AM trash pick up… really?

It was nice weekend. The only problem is there was not enough toilet paper in the bathroom. The person who check the restroom never restocked when she was there, only restock in the morning. Then someones kids made a big mess around the sinks.

It would of been 5 stars if the water would of been good in full service. It was beautiful and very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the trails, lake and playground with our granddaughter.

Ed the camp host was extra special for me. I had surgery and we were displaced from our home for a couple weeks due to construction being done. He checked on me a couple times a day and was a fantastic person. Very friendly and helpful. We were on the full hookup side and had no water but the camp host I just can’t talk enough about how clean he made the bathrooms and was very attentive to my needs.

Nice! We have complained the last few years, when we travel (39' Class A towing a car) to Omaha to visit family, there's very few places to park the rv legally. So when we saw this campground reopen, we decided to try it. We were in #82, nice and flat pad, didn't even have to level the rv. Very clean area since it's all new, nice mature trees and more than average space between most sites. The site pad was too narrow to park next to the rv with our slides out, and too short to park in front of it. The friendly staff gently asked us to not park on the grass, we were happy to comply as best we could. We were using this as a base camp, so didn't even see the lake or trails. It will be nicer when the water is turned on next year (then it will get 4.5 stars) Great value for the price. Overall, we were very happy, and will definitely be back next year. In the future, could the park be open year round (without water)? We "rv" about every other month, and would stay here winter months.

Had a great time. Weather was beautiful and the lake was quiet and peaceful. The host was very nice and so was security from signal 88. Halloween contest was a bonus and there is nothing like watching a Nebraska football game out under the stars. (maybe a win but it was still fun) Only negatives.... teens from the public trail came in and were skateboarding around doing (tricks) next to my car. And someones dog got loose and was running around visiting other camp sites. (It was nice but you never know)

Missed 3 of 5 nights due to our own family medical concerns but our site was saved and the two nights were the best recovery we could of had. Did not want to leave. Scheduled to come back for the last five nights of the season. Love the new Campground and all the updates throughout the entire Lake and marina as well as the Campground.. Excited to see what next year will offer.

Use to camp here frequently was decent before improvements. The upgrades are fantastic, not sure if worth the aggressive price increase or not accepting access passes. Some of the staff were less than polite in the enforcement of rules and were in violation of some themselves. They’ve turned a hidden gem into overpriced, under equipped KOA campground. Not sure if I’d return.

Beautiful campground. Once the water lines are repaired this will be a booked campground. Lovely spacious sites. Our only complaint was the Stink bugs. They were all over our motorhome and we are still finding them in creases.

1).We had a wonderful time this weekend. Just the bugs where reallly bad covering your tent had to knock them off from the outside before you go out. 2).why west c couldn't not be full hookup like east c.people was coming through have a friendly conversation ant they was say the mosquitoes was really bad on the otherside. 3).Why they didn't built a convenient mini market store where you can also book your site and check in at .cause alot of people doesn't have a CC like koa. 4).you can sale camping items, ice ,wood, food, ect.or order food.

Clean and beautiful, great staff. If you're tenting, very limited area. But has a playground in center. Nice bathroom facility, modern flush type. Area is patrolled by staff. There is a pump house near a couple sites, so stay clear of there if you ear sensitive at night. Very nice place. The bike trail is awesome, 6 miles around lake.

High price for partial hookup. No water at site. $8 for small bundle of firewood and $1 for shower. Would not recommend.
