We had a wonderful time at Creekside Mountain RV Park. A great place to park and see the sites. Very convenient to Sturgis, Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. Rita is wonderful and the place is maintained beautifully. Backs right up to the Mickelson Trail with access to walk or ride your bike.

Very small tight spaces no room for bbqing, no fire pits, or restrooms, showers or laundry room the owner rides around on a cart & is not so nice. Not a welcoming RV camp. We spent 4 nights there, very expensive for so little. I was so glad to leave. The day before we left, I hurt my ankle, as I was walking up to the trash bin to dump my dogs poo, without another soul around, before I had a chance to leash my dogs up, here comes the owner on her cart (not caring that I was limping) she talked so rudely saying leash up your dogs, she glared at me & drove off on her cart. What a killjoy sour attitude to paying customers that are already over paying for basically no amenities & on top of that a owner who stomps out your vacation fun, never will I ever stay there again. We paid too much for that kind of abusr

Campground Response

Wow! For someone who came in a day early and left a nasty message on my answering machine because they wanted to be parked due to their not knowing their check in date. You made the reservation saying 3 dogs not 5. Also signed the rules . Dogs will be leashed. Back behind the campground is ok. Sorry you feel the way you do. I dont advertise amenities. As big as you are you should have all you need.My prices are decent. For what you get. And fires are not allowed during high fire index! I do have portables. You sound like you are not a happy person! You sure didn't think like that the day before. Only til I told you to leash your dogs. Not fair to other campers. Thank you and have a good day !

This was by far the best campground we have ever stayed at. Well situated in the heart of the Black Hills. Rita, the owner, was an exceptional hostess. She made us feel at home. Very clean and we'll kept. My husband and myself will have no problem recommending Creekside to others.

This campground was situated perfectly to see all the major sites in the area. Very clean and well kept. Small and very quiet which was surprising since it’s on a busy road but the road quieted down significantly at night so not trouble sleeping at all. Rita the owner is exceptionally nice. She takes the time to personally greet all her guests at their campsite with a map of the area and explains where things are and makes suggestions for good places to eat which we found very helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Perfect creekside property! The grounds are beautifully kept. Trout swim abundantly in the creek behind the camp. The owners have a walkway by the creek on their property and there is immediate trail access to the bike/hike trail. The owner was very helpful in accommodating a late arrival and helped with adding an additional day to our stay. This camp is nicer than other camps that I have seen in the Black Hills! When I come back to the Black Hills, this camp will be my first call!

Nice park. As advertised there were no amenities but that was fine as we had what we needed. The entrance definitely needs lighting because it is very difficult to see from the road at night. The night sky was beautiful. The road to our site was very tight but she did tell us that and she did help us to our site. The owner can be a little harsh, but I don’t think she meant to be so we gave her the benefit of the doubt as I’m sure dealing with people in this industry can be difficult. All in all, the park was clean and nice and is about average for the price. We enjoyed our stay.

Small park, clean and neat. Owner’s dogs barked nonstop for 5 days. Not very peaceful.

Campground Response

Sorry to hear this. Funny non stop means 24 /7 . I dont think i saw you out of your air condtioned unit but twice. To wash your windshield which i dont allow unless you ask and pay extra like my other people do. In my rules which you signed.I let you with a bucket do your whole front. I received no extra payment. My park is very pet friendly. People love it for that reason. My pups did not bark nonstop. How would you know? you were gone most days! Safe travels and have a good day!

Very close to the highway that was very noisy. No amenities in the campground (no bathrooms or shower facilities). Could not find trash receptacle. Thought the conditions and the nightly fee did not match.

Campground Response

I dont advertise amenities. If i did my prices would be higher.Your unit was big enough to have the amenities you needed. You need to read before you book! As far as the garbage i know i told you where it was. Big dumpster isnt hard to find. No one seems to have that problem. Really sorry you didnt get a refund. Policy is 7 days !Have a good day!

Owner was open and friendly although she was a little closed to campers guests/visitors. Campsites were clean and level with a picnic table per site. Would have been nice to have a fire pit. Entry to the park really needs lighting. Coming in at night was difficult. Nothing else was advertised and they didn't have a laundry, washroom or pavilion. If you just want a nice campsite this is your place.

Great little campground that sits on a creek - extremely dog friendly! Rita is the hostess with the mostess and is an absolute gem, clean and well kept grounds. This is our second time here and will be back again.

We enjoyed our 12 day stay.....the owner, Rita, came to our site, greeted us and gave us a map of the area.....kindly asked if we had any questions. It was nice having beautiful green grass that was impeccably kept right at our sites. The best part was we hoped on our e-bikes, and right out the back gate we rode on the Mickelson trail for miles and miles.....took us right in to Hill City and beyond. Rita keeps a close eye on the RV park and guests so you all feel very comfortable. And even during Sturgis, they keep their prices more then reasonable. Thank you for a fun time
