I stayed at this RV park for over a year and half. I’ve never had any issues here with the staff or facilities- Mrs.Kim and Colton have always been a great help! Colton is always quick to fix any issues onsite. Mrs.Kim is always so nice and friendly when I go into the office and was more than willing to help me with issues in the park also! Loved the onsite dog park! One of the nicest rv parks in Carlsbad for sure!

Do not advertise that you have restrooms if they are not open 24 hrs a day. Do not charge those of us without showers in our rigs another $5 to take a shower! The bathrooms were dirty. Why do you add on another $3 for a platform fee? What is that?! We were so disappointed that I have posted a bad review on RV Life. You are obviously interested in only doing business with those who stay long term and do not really need your facilities.

clean and easy to get around. Showers were good except the floor in the handicap shower was a bit slick when wet which worried my 91 yr old mom. Also, most of the dryers were not working but we did eventually get the laundry done after the other people were finished.

Went to check in and the attendant told me that he “couldn’t accommodate me”. I reserved a site and paid in full in advance. He got into his pickup truck, drive around the park, and came back and told me he found a site but the water spigot was broken. I reluctantly took the site. A fellow, (obviously long-term) camper nearby had a chained-up constantly barking dog for most the day. I will never return there and tell my camping friends to avoid this park.

We arrived to find nobody in the office and when we called the number nobody answered and the voicemail was full. We didn't have a site number because it's assigned at check-in. After about a half hour we had 3 of us waiting and decided to just find a site and pull in. Most of the empty sites were not usable. When someone finally came to the office after about an hour he said just find an empty site. Most sites had some problem like broken sewer pipe, electric problem cones blocking them because of holes in them. Plan on getting up early because the business next door loads pipes on trucks very early. Management never checked to see what site any of us picked. Will definitely not stay here again.

Not our favorite stay. Damaged electrical at many sites, leaking water faucet, generally unkept, no one in the office upon arrival at 2:45pm to assign a site. Loud vehicles coming and going at all hours of the night. A bright spot- The shower and restrooms were very clean but $5.00 for a shower token? Really? After traveling all over the country to 35 states this was a pretty sad RV park that we would not choose to stay again.

Very nice people and good internet and the facilities are well maintained. However, this is a gravel parking lot. There are few trees or other plant life. There is a large number of full-timers due to the work going on around town. But, there is little maintenance to sites. There was a lot of trash and dog poop. While it was ok for a short stay, I wouldn't recommend it for longer than 2-3 days.

Full hookup included NO water. I was told someone ran over a water line. Our 30 Amp plug did not work. I could see there was a wire not connected in the box. Had to use neighbors when they weren't there. Sewer pipe had duct tape over it but it worked. 2 outa 3 ain't bad. Lots of traffic. Laundry room and showers not working. All closed. This stuff was not on their website. Oh wifi worked. I think it's mostly workers and full timers staying there. I was told I would receive a partial refund. I will let you decide if you want to stay there.

It had everything we needed for a 2 night stop to visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We didn’t use any of their facilities. The campground is definitely not a family camping destination as the park is all gravel, no trees/grass & not a great play area. It is also was mostly occupied by oil workers, which was fine. I would stay again if passing through.

Coyote Flats RV Park has the potential to be much better than it is. We arrived at 2 p.m. to a sign on the door that said "out to lunch." There was no time on the note indicating when someone would be back. So several of us waited about 30 minutes for someone to come to the door. We were told to park in the last site on the first row which when we got down to it, was occupied. We had to back up and find an empty site without knowing if someone else was going to come in for that site. It was very disorganized. The spots are meant to be door-to-door buddy spots but are being used as pull throughs. That means two slabs of concrete in unusable positions and most of them are cracked from being run over. There are no picnic tables or fire rings. If you were to land in one of these sites as a buddy site, you would be really crammed in. There are lots of dogs living at the park; none of them are on leashes, all of them poop wherever they like, (all along the gravel roads between rows) and no one is picking up after these dogs. It's disgusting and difficult to walk your own dog through the mess and through the gauntlet of loose dogs. The dog park is disgusting; full of poop. Lastly, there are so many run down trailers with junk around them. The trailer next to us had a boot on it. The good is limited but there are good things. The office/laundry/shower area look like a new building. The park itself, has good bones and could exist as a good park. The problem is that management is not enforcing any rules regarding dogs or site maintenance. Most sites are held by people working in the oil fields and leave early in the morning. This was a complaint made in another review. We did not have any issues with noisy people, noisy trucks, or with disrespect. Esthetically, this campground is a mess and needs more attentive management.

We came in after hours. Made a phone call didn't get a response but lots of open sites so we picked one and called to leave a message but call was answered at that time. Cost $5 for 15 min shower. It's a token system. Extremely hard to use ... Card reader didn't want to read our card...and on the 4th shower room the tokens finally worked, it was the handicapped room.

The worst, experience at a campground in over 7000 miles of traveling this trip. Office is closed on Sundays which was when our reservation was for. Problem was, the reservation confirmation said site would be allocated on arrival. Tried phoning, no answer, no return call. Just took a spot and stayed the night. Went to use shower and you have to pay $5.00. Not mentioned on website or at booking. So add $10/night to an already overpriced gravel lot. Hookups at sites very poorly laid out. Would not recommend

Place was safe, acceptable to stay and conveniently located to area sites. But here are my overall thoughts on the place. Sleeping was just ok until 4:30-6:30 every morning with residents diesel trucks started and left to run to warm up before they would jump into their vehicles to go to work. Not that they shouldn't, just a note. Park is predominantly inhabited with work crew for the pipe line going down to Texas. Facilities are nice, employees were fine, but slow to respond if at all. We had placed a phone call to see if we could rearrange dates, they never called back. It does not have a playground, not family oriented really. No fire pits, all gravel, some concrete pads but ours said no parking on it. Wifi was intermittent, sewer lines do not have screw in adapters it's just a straight pipe.

Campground Response

Hello Kristine and thanks for the review. We are looking into why no one responded to you and we sincerely apologize for that. Our office is closed on Sundays so that should be the only day to not expect a response back during our normal hours of 9am - 6pm. Most of our tenants are hard working oil field personnel so they do have to wake up and go to work, unfortunately, that is not something we can control or change, I apologize for the inconvenience though. As far as the playground, we have a huge playground with multiple pieces of equipment for kids to climb on, slide down, etc. We even have it covered for shade, quite a few concrete picnic tables, a huge sandbox/volleyball court so I am not sure why you are thinking there is no playground. Our park is the size of many public parks. The playground is in the backside of the park, please call our office and we can walk you out to the playground so you can locate. We also do have fire pits out near the playground. As far as the concrete pads go, that is correct - they aren't for tenants to park on, they are to be in front of your door to your camper so you have a clean and flat area in front of your entrance. As far as the Wifi goes, we would love to hear more about your issues so we can try to fix if you will give us a call or come into the office. For the sewer lines, that is correct, this is standard for most parks. Again, we appreciate the feedback and would love to discuss more. Thank you for staying with us.
