Spectacular View There are few sites at Chimney Rock, for good reason: every site faces Chimney Rock - a stunning monument to the pioneers who crossed the plains and began their mountain trek. Electric and water hookups; dump station on premises. Spacious sites. Bonus: UPS and FedEx will deliver to the office (if open) or directly to your site.

We booked this campsite to be close to Chimney Rock and to see the night lighting of Chimney Rock. It did not disappoint, and we had a great one-night stay at the campground. We had a question for the campground host and when we called him, he was very helpful.

The price was right for what you get. Beautiful view, day and night, of Chimney Rock. Some train noise but it goes away after dark. I would stay there again.

I’ve stayed here twice in the last couple of months and really enjoy it. The view is incredible. The owners are very kind people. Cool little store in the office and the ice cream is delicious!

Spent the night there on the way home from Wyoming. It was convenient (right on our route), quiet, and clean. A bonus was Chimney Rock illuminated at night! Would stay there again.

It may have been fine in season. We were not made aware that although the shop was closed so were the bathrooms. And it should be also noted the trains go by every 1/2 hour and your trailer will shake.

Campground Response

When you made your reservation on line you must have missed the notice on the two websites you were at that the restrooms and shower were closed during your planned stay.

Facilities were closed. Water had high nitrate warning. Still had utilities.

Campground Response

Like most people you did not completely read the notices or you would have known the facilities were closed in the off season. Very common in farming communities is a nitrate problem. Our nitrates are 1.5 parts per MILLION over the State of Nebraska limit, if you had requested drinking water we would have provided it.

We had an over night stay here and the scenery was breath taking. The Chimney Tower was lit up later in the evening and was well worth the stop. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The hook up was easy and just what we needed for our time spent there. We met many new friends and enjoyed the hike to Chimney Rock

The campground is just that a campground with full hook-ups BUT, it has a wonderful feel of camping out in the frontier. The staff are all very friendly and the outpost they run is exactly that, an oasis.

This is a no frills park, but still we really enjoyed our time there. The views of Chimney Rock are fantastic and they light it up at night. We also went to Scott's Bluff National Monument. The prices are reasonable and the owner Joe is very friendly. We would gladly stay again if we find ourselves back in this area.
