Nothing fancy, but a great, friendly, clean little full hookup spot out on the prairie. The view of Chimney Rock lit up at night is awesome.

Stayed at pioneer crossing for one night to check out chimney rock. Joe checked us in and was amazing, told us the history of the chimney rock and how to get to the trail for a hike to the base. Super nice quiet campground and well maintained. Gift and ice cream shop was nice as well. If you want excitment then this probably isn't your kinda place. Nothing in Bayard so the real closest town is Scottsbluff. Would highly recommend a stay here if you want low key and clean with a bit of history.

Very nice overnight stay, clean, neat sites, check in easy, did not get there in time to meet personnel, site info was accessible, would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area

For a private RV park, great! Although the sites were tightly lined up together, there was plenty of space around the park for dog walks. All sites were pull-through with 30- and 50-amp electric, water and sewer. There were three rows of side-by-side sites, but they're angled so that everyone has a view of Chimney Rock and the really big hill behind it. Each site is separated from its neighbor by a grassy area with a picnic table. So, yeah--you're packed in like sardines, but no--it's not obnoxious for a private RV park. The second best I've ever stayed at that's owned by an individual person. Awfully expensive--$94 after the online reservation fees. You might want to check if you can call the park directly and skip the "Rover Pass" overhead. You can hear highway noise when the wind is right, but it's not obnoxious. And a train runs nearby but in the two nights that we spent there, we didn't feel like it was running right through the park. Just a pleasant rumble in the distance. Extremely clean and well-kept up. The lady manning the "trading post"/registration desk was very nice and efficient. The only shortcoming in that regard is that she closes up at 5pm--if you're going to arrive later than that, you'll need to make arrangements via email or phone in advance. The gate is left open and there's no fence, but it's so far out in the country that we didn't feel worried at all about leaving our stuff behind while we went driving around.

Beautiful view of the monument. Camp hosts couldn't be nicer. Excellent shower and clean. No trees...make your own shade with an awning.

I don’t like giving negative reviews but popup travelers need to know. The location was super and the water was delicious. Currently the campground is better/safer for a self-contained unit. My son and I were in a popup in July 2022 and there was no indication of where the facilities were. I found their phone numbers on the campground website and about 2 hours after I started calling we heard from someone. There were 2 bathrooms but the number kick was broken on one. The other one the code worked but anyone with the code could open the door from the outside. There was no way to lock it from the inside. I spoke to the other owner the next day and she said they needed to get a locksmith. I’m not sure how long it has been in this state. The restroom was clean but the soap was out. And they didn’t check it when they were there. I would stay there again if the bathrooms were fixed. We had a great view of the Chimney Rock and the moon was almost full.

Amazing site! My dog, best friend, and I are road-tripping across the country from upstate NY to Utah and stumbled across this place. It was by far the best campsite we stayed at. The view of chimney rock is beautiful. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The little store is very cute. And the owner was super helpful. An absolutely amazing experience. I would love to stay here again. Oh! And it’s only 3 1/2 hours from Denver!

Beautiful location, full hook up, and cute gift shop with ice cream and homemade waffle cones. Will absolutely stay here again!

Nice grounds and beautiful views. Great stop over location. The only downfall was we stayed on a Sunday night and there were so many trains that kept passing right behind the grounds on the track. It was very loud and kept us up majority of the night. Just wanted to provide that information as a warning beforehand would have been helpful to prepare for how close the train were.

We stayed just one night, but we will be back! The view of Chimney Rock is spectacular. The camp store has excellent ice cream and since it was 90+, we needed it. You are less than half a mile from the Chimney Rock Visitor Center, so a excursion there is a must. The only negative is that there are no bathroom or shower facilities, but that wasn't a problem for us.

The owners were very kind and helpful. The lot is clean and quiet with a great view. Located within a short drive of a few cities. On-site showers and bathrooms were cleans. Only complaint was the mosquitoes... suppose that's why they make bug spray.

This was our first camping experience and we absolutely loved it! The owners were very helpful and nice! The views were beautiful and good ice cream too. We will definitely be back!

We paid $30, $40 after taxes for a tent camping site after we emailed to confirm that they did have tent sites with fire pits. When we got there the "campsite" was a 6 ft. Wide swath that he took with his brush hog mower off the side of the road and it had no fire pit or tables near by. He was not willing to be reasonable with refund after we established that there was a clear misunderstanding. It was an unfortunate start to our vacation. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR TENT CAMPING!!

Campground Response

We are sorry you didn’t stay with us. In emails prior to you making your reservation at our campground we did tell you that if winds and red zone conditions remained that fires we not allowed. As of the date of your reservation there were no changes of fire conditions. There are 2 concrete picnic tables right beside where you would have set up your tent. We hope you have a good rest of your vacation
