Rend Lake is just minutes away - some of the best fishing in the Midwest area.

Bubba Too's Restaurant and Bar next door!  Great place to relax - Food, Drinks, Entertainment and Gaming!!!

Forgot something?!? NO WORRIES! Although the campground is surrounded by nature, Mount Vernon is only 15 mins away. You can head to Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dollar General, Aldi, Lowes/Menards, pretty much anything you need, you can find!

Overall Rating: 4.5

We have stayed at Bubba J's several times and have had a great experience every time. The spaces are big very easy to get in and out of. There is a bar/food place right next door that has good food, Hamburgers, pizza, wings and more. It is very nice local bar and we have never been woken up because they were to loud. We will be back.

Campground Response

Thank you for the feedback Keith! We are happy to hear you are repeat customers and plan to come again :)

Great place to stay if you dont plan on getting any sleep. Way too much noise from the bar.

Campground Response

We are so sorry to hear the noise from the bar was bothersome! That is a risk we unfortunately run being located next to them which is why we were sure to add a map to reflect the close proximity. I'll let the bar owner know of your rating as we are not under the same management despite the similar names :) Thank you for your feedback!

It was run down. We did not stay at the campground! We continued down the road. It was far from rt 39 and hard to get to. We were not able to get our motor home into a pull through. Do not recommend!

Campground Response

Hello Gary, Could you please expand on why you were not able to get your motor home into a pull through site? I see your RV was reserved as 35 ft long and our pull through sites are 80 feet long. I would also love to know what gave you the impression it was run down, so we can attempt to improve that for future guests. Thank you for your feedback!

We have stayed here a couple times and have been pleased. No frills just a nice quiet peaceful stay in the country. Restaurant / Bar right next store has excellent food, coldest beer around and friendly staff. The owner Wade is easily accessible and is a real friendly guy.

Campground Response

Thank you so much Michael! We pride ourselves on treating our guests like family!

Very rustic campground with little or no road signage. No place to check in and never saw or heard from any staff while on site for an overnight. Called a number to confirm check in and had to ask if was Bubba J phone connection. Utilities were in good shape and folks at bar friendly enough. A little loud but not terrible. Drive country roads a few miles to get to and from interstate but roads were decent.

Campground Response

Hello Carl, first we hope you enjoyed your stay at Bubba Js. This is a small family owned and operated business therefore, we do not have permanent staff on site. Please let us know if there are any suggestions you may have to make our campground better for future guests. -Wade G.

We had a relaxing weekend here overall. The host was very nice. The park has a bathroom and that’s pretty much it besides the full hookups so if you’re looking for a park with amenities this is not the one for you. Very bare bones camping. Oh and bring your own firewood or chainsaw because you have to forage for it.

Campground Response

Thank you for your review Shannon :) We will update our page to reflect to bring your own firewood.

Loren Laughlin

Nice, peaceful RV park in a very small rural town. The RV park is next to a bar with great food with awesome pizza and wings and is called “Bubbas Too” - owned by different owners. It is just about 50 ft or so away. Please note: There are no showers at the RV park and there were no mirrors in the bathrooms. If going north on 57, it is a bit of a drive off the freeway to get there. Much easier to get back on the freeway going north leaving from a different direction (west of the park). The owner of Bubba J’s is nice and very accommodating.

Campground Response

Hi Loren! Thank you for your review! We've updated the page to reflect that we do not have showers and have added mirrors to our bathrooms:) We hope you come back to see us!

Campground Response
