Big Fresno Fair

The Big Fresno Fair is one of my absolute favorite parts of the year! My family and I are California natives so we've been going for years, but it seems to get bigger and better each time. We spend most of the time at the concert stages and always end up catching a well-known local band; they normally bring in some bigger national artists but it's always so refreshing to see familiar faces. We also make sure to see the dance shows which are always spectacular performances. My personal favorite is the Aztec Dancers. Second to the entertainment is of course the food which is typical fair food with a bit of a California twist. The bacon-wrapped pork belly on a stick is going to convince you to stay in California if Fraser's Philly cheese steaks doesn't. It's insane. I'd definitely recommend spending a few days at the fair, it's worth an out of town trip if you can. Even if you're not into some of California's iconic foods and entertainment, there's traditional fair rides like ferris wheels and roller coasters, and a museum of the fair itself that will show you what it used to be like back in the day.
