Rules are a necessary but unfortunate reality. We love spending time visiting with our guests and our least favorite thing on our to do list is enforcing rules. So we would be more than appreciative if you would familiarize yourself with the rules which are common sense, and basic etiquette. We hope that each one of our guest will be pleased with their stay and that each one would treat each other with respect and courtesy. Simple :) Thank You for choosing Big Creek RV Park for your family friendly nature retreat.

I was part of a group that stayed here during the eclipse. The owners are not only great people but will go out of their way to make sure your stay is everything it should be. Restrooms, showers and laundry are clean and well kept. Plenty of space to walk the dog. Overall condition of the campground was very good for early spring. The coffee from the coffee shop was excellent as well. We had a great time here and can highly recommend it.

Very nice park that is very convenient to many state parks in the area. Owners were on site and were very helpful and they made sure that we had a great stay. We were with a group of 40+ motorhomes, and they were very attentive to our needs. They’re sheep, goats, and turkeys were a delight to have around. You could go and feed them up towards the front of the park. There is a spot where you can. “Mine “for gems which is fun for the kids. The beautiful creek winds through the park and backs up to some of the sites. The sites were wide and well taken care of. We would absolutely stay here again when our travel plans, take us near here.

Campground Response

What a great campground! Dave and Laura are such gracious and thoughtful owners. There are so many things to do both in the campground and nearby. There is a beautiful babbling creek running along side. There is a train track but you may never know it, a 2 car Amtrak passes by at 10:20pm but no horn! Although I didn’t use the bathroom/showers or the laundry they were sooo nice! There is nothing not to like about this park, I highly recommend you book a stay with them!

Campground Response

Hi Doris, thank you so very much for your thrilled review. We appreciate when campers give detailed reviews to help others that may be looking for a place to stay. It was a blast to have your group spend a week with us and could not have asked for better weather for your gathering. We hope you will come and visit us again soon. Dave & Laura - owners.

Karen Reeves

This campground was just what we were looking for! It was close to the amazing state parks we wanted to see and hike at. The owners were very nice and accommodating. The showers and restroom facilities were private and very clean. I could have spent days in the shallow river that was there, searching for all kinds of rocks. Heard and saw owls one night! Quiet atmosphere this time of year. There is a Dollar General not too far away for general food supplies.

Campground Response

Hi Karen, We are so happy that you had a good time and that you were able to visit the local attractions. It is a beautiful area with lots to do. The State Parks offers beautiful trails and when the weather warms up the Creek as well as the Black River are wonderful places to relax and cool off. This time of the year the weather is perfect for hiking during the day and sitting around the fire at night while enjoying the beautiful starry sky. Thank you again for camping with us and hope you will come and visit us again. Dave and Laura -owners

Bill Carnell

Nice campground. Nice owners. I like that they enforce park rules, particularly the speed limit of 5mph. Very well kept. Nice restroom/shower house. The Big Creek is nice...I'm sure when it's a little warmer it would be a great place to just chill. The pool looks nice; we were there in late March so it wasn't open. Good location to explore nearby attractions ie: Elephant Rock, Tom Sauk, Pilot Knob, Caledonia to name a few. The only con is it's on Hwy 49...a little traffic noise but not overwhelming...not a deal breaker. You won't be disappointed.

Campground Response

Hi Bill, Thank you for your positive and detailed review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Big Creek RV Park. There is so much to do in this area of Missouri, something for every one. Hwy 49 can have a little traffic but I would agree that it is not overwhelming. The park offers so much that it definitely makes up for the minor noise from Hwy 49. Thank you again for choosing Big Creek RV Park and we hope to see you very soon. Dave & Laura- owners.

What an awesome campground! We loved it for the UTV trail ride we were on that weekend (100 miles). Very nice owners. Our 2 dogs were happy and so were our friends who stayed next to us. Loved the $10 a night firewood charge! The little camp store had everything we needed. We made reservation for the end of July and will bring more friends. Can’t wait to check out the pool and all the amenities!

Campground Response

Hi Keith, Arcadia Meadow and its surroundings do offer plenty to do including UTV's trails, floating the Black River, kayak on Clear Water Lake, visit awesome state parks, hiking trails, and more. Big Creek RV Park is sure a great central location from which to access all that this area has to offer. Even though we do not have UTV's trails on our property there are trails minutes from our park that are easily accessible. We are so glad that you and your friends had a good time and were able to enjoy your hobby. See you in July. Dave & Laura-owners.

We had a fabulous stay at Big Creek RV Park! Owners are a lovely family and the property is very well cared for. Spots are spacious and manicured, level and full hookups at every spot! Even have cable as well! The creek was a blast for our dogs to splash around in and the hiking trail was great for walks. We will definitely be back!
