Camping is the best. It is such a great way to spend time in nature, slow down, create family memories and so much more.  We are looking forward to having you stay with us here at Big Creek RV Park. Please read our policies carefully as we want everyone to have a great time. Our park borders the beautiful crystal-clear Big Creek. You can access the creek via a quaint wooded trail. There are 3 state parks near Big Creek RV Park as well as charming little towns to visit. All 65 of our big-rig friendly sites have 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer and cable TV hookups as well as free WiFi throughout the park. Our amenities includes a swimming pool, volleyball , horseshoes, playground, private shower units, meeting hall, 24 hours coin laundry, and propane fill station. We also have a small store where you will find gift items, T-shirts and sweaters, campers items, fire supplies and  more. We have plenty of wood on site that you can purchase for a reasonable price for your campfires. It is not camping without a campfire at night or all day if you choose. We have everything you need for a great vacation. Please note that we do not allow tents on our sites, and campsite reservations are NOT transferable. Transfer of a reservation to another person will cause immediate cancellation of the reservation. We are a family park and ask our guests to be mindful and respectful of their neighbors. We do have quiet time hours from 10 PM to 9 AM.  Quiet time does not limit courtesy. QUIET TIME is a few hours, COURTESY is all the time. If you have questions, feel free to call us at the campground number listed on your reservation confirmation page.

Big Creek is perfect for wading, catch-and-release fishing, or splashing around on hot days. We have approximate 2.5 miles of hiking and biking trails running through the park. Nearby attractions include Black River, Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. Elephant Rocks State Park, Taum Sauk Mountain State Park and Fort Davidson State Historic Site--just to name a few.

Star gazing is also a wonderful sight here at Big Creek RV Park.

We hope to see you soon!

Camping with friends and family is part of the fun. We do ask that gatherings around campfires be limited to 8 persons after 10 PM. We also ask that you use COURTESY at all times. Other campers did not come here to listen to your loud music, TV show, loud voices, etc... This is a family friendly RV park . Use appropriate language. Anyone who is disruptive and refuses to follow campground rules will be asked to leave immediately and without refund.

We ask our campers to be mindful of how alcohol may alter their volume and behavior. If the consumption of alcohol causes an individual to be unwilling to follow campground rules, law enforcement officers will be called and that person will be asked to leave the premises without refund. No smoking in any buildings. This includes e-cigarettes and vapor cigarettes. Do not throw cigarette butts anywhere except in the provided receptacles or in your own container.

A single tent may be allowed on Creekside or Deluxe Back-in sites (not on pull through sites) for an additional fee of $5.00 per day. The tent must be small (6 person or less). The 8 persons per site limit must be adhered to. Tents may only be used in conjunction with an occupied RV and must be placed very close to or behind to the door side of the RV (indisputably inside of your space).

We love pets at Big Creek RV. We want to keep welcoming our furry friends, so please help them follow the rules. 1. No aggressive breeds. 2. We limit 2 pets per site. (we know when you have extras and it puts all of in bad position) 3. We ask that you keep your pet on a leash and under control at all times and keep your pet's "chatting" (barking) to a minimum to avoid disturbing others. 4. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets in all areas of the park, including your campsite. 5. Pets are not allowed in any building in the park (including showers). 6. Do not leave pets outside your RV unattended at any time. 7. Pets that are tethered must be tied to a metal tie-out in ground no longer than 6 feet. First and last time I will be going to this place. Owner came down at 9:40 and demanded our music be turned off, not turned down. Quiet time began at 11. He stated he could hear the music at his house, which was not true, bc one of our party was straight across from his site. He then began to be very rude, and proceeded to call some of our party names and asked us to all leave, even though everyone had all been drinking and several had cdl’s. He then called the sheriff, and he in turn said he would prefer to not be called bc we had to get out on the road. Six campers in total pulled out the next morning, and went to Black River Hideaway and enjoyed the rest of our weekend, playing corn hole, our music played until the rain started, we laughed and talked loudly as usual, and even in a smaller campground we had zero complaints.

Campground Response

Hi Jessica, sorry this is not the campground for your group. Quiet hours are a thing, but CURTOUSY is at all times. We received complaints from other campers that were disturbed not just by the loud music but by the very loud voices and inappropriate use of language. This is a family friendly park. The amount of alcohol one choses to have should not affect the other campers who also chose to camp at Big Creek RV Park. By the time we got to your campfire, several men in your group started being belligerent and insulting before my husband even had a chance to say anything. By the time the deputy came things had greatly settled and in fact my husband said he did not want you to leave but to be respectful of other campers. Your group decided to leave the next morning. You also made sure the whole campground knew of your departure as you honked your horns, blasted your music and revved your engines on your way out of the park; proving that this is not the place for you. One thing I will say is thank you for leaving your sites picked up and getting rid of your garbage. I was most impressed. After your group left, however, we had many campers come to us very grateful that we had addressed the noise complaint and protected what Big Creek RV Park is: a family friendly, peaceful gateway.

We are brand new to RVing and rented a class C Motorhome and stayed 4 nights at Big Creek with our 3 and 6 year old girls. We had such an amazing time at Big Creek. The activities Saturday for Halloween were so fun-pumpkin roll contest, site decoration contest, costume contest, hayrides, trick or treating and the sense of community throughout. The park has everything you need to have a great stay- plenty of room to ride bikes and run around, a playground, a big creek to play in, a pool, an arcade, gem mining and beautiful trails. There is also a store with a few items if you’ve forgotten something, souvenirs, a laundry room with 3 washers and 4 dryers and 3 community restrooms/showers. The park facilities and outside were incredibly clean and well taken care of. The new owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Campground Response

Staff was very friendly. The campground was very nice with very clean bathrooms and easy to access spots. The price of ice and other supplies were very reasonable. We were told the Wifi was having issues when we were there, which made it difficult to plan for activities but was not horrible as we find we could get mobile connection at the right spot in the park. The main issue we had was around the septic connections. They did not have threaded connections and the camper next to us had a very poor connecting allowing sewer gas out which made the site smell pretty bad and attracted a lot of flies including horse flies. Thankfully they left after a couple of days and the problem went away.

We had a great time and wished we lived closer to we could come more often. We will be back.

Big Creek RV park was very nice. Pros: - Price was very competitive for the amenities provided. - The pool is a nice touch for the kids. - They have a small fishing pond but we didn't catch anything (clearly our fault!) - The spot we had was fairly level and was easy to back in - Access to the creek was very nice - The camp store was extremely convenient. They offer items most parks don't have. - Laundry machines - Conveniently located near many state parks and the Black River. About 1hr45min from St. Louis. Cons: - Little to no shade in the park. There are a few decent sized trees that provided evening shade but it was very hot during the day. Air conditioner ran non stop (and mine is super cold!) - Although there are private bathrooms, the floors were always soaking wet from the showers. Had to be careful not to slip when walking in - WiFi was terrible. Plain and simple. I've read other reviews about the spotty wifi and I'd say it was awful. We were close to an access point but it rarely connected. When it did finally connect, you couldn't do anything with it. We left ours disabled the entire time. Had to take our chances with 1 bar of verizon extended service. Don't intend on working. lol - The laundry room and arcade smelled very bad. Every time. These rooms are in the same main building as the private bathrooms. I assume the HVAC system is the same for all and Circulated musty smells throughout. We had no major issues with the campsite. The cons were easily avoided on our part. Would definitely stay again if we ever come to the area again.

This was our second time staying here and we enjoyed it. Quiet, nice big sites, and close to many places to hike and enjoy the area. We’ll be back!

Had a fabulous time. Great little trail walk. The creek behind the camp ground good for wading in as well as deeper parts for swimming. Patty the owner, is super kind and very helpful with all things. Highly recommended place to stay.
