What a great campground! Campground was nice and clean. Facilities were nice and clean. Joe, not sure what his title is, was great and very welcoming. He made sure we had what we needed because we rented a camper on site.

Great little campground. Clean and well kept. Owners and employees very nice. Beautiful tent sites near the river. The only catches were across the river is the intersection of 16 and 25, with a restaurant all involving many big rigs, dump trucks and motorcycles. The sound of traffic was very loud as early as 5am and late as 1130pm. The other catch here was there were only 2 showers. It wasn't a problem for us, but I imagine with a full camp, that could be difficult.

This is a nice small rustic camp ground. I was in a rented pop up right on the river. Everything was set up prior to my arrival. Staff was super nice. They checked in on me to make sure everything was working properly. The closest bathroom near my site was a port a potty. It was new and clean but after a few days, we did the long walk up the steep hill to the bath house. The only other downside was that we could hear the trucks on the road. We had a blast on the river. My dog had a fabulous time.

We Spent a few days in September.. the place was very clean , quite and friendly.. price was good we would highly recommend definitely !

Very friendly staff. Family own and run campground. No sewer in the stationary trailer that we lived it, tanks only, so we he for careful and preserve water. There is onsite shower. Also I didn’t see a slop sink for washing dishes

Great little campground in the middle of all the action for fall leaf peeping and final fair days. Lovely folks! Clean site with the river for back ground, clean facilities, easy access at night to porta-toilets. Water and wash station near porta-toilets. Quiet and restful except for Rt. 16, but not the campgrounds issue. We were tent camping, there is access for electricity and water.

It was such a wonderful experience to celebrate my partner and I’s second anniversary here at Bearcamp River Campground. The staff were friendly and attentive to our needs, the campsite was clean and well maintained, it was quiet and a nice calm atmosphere and we loved that they were open to new guests in late September, which was a pleasant surprise seeing as many campsites close after Labor Day.

Diane Koncinsky

Easy check-in. Clean beautiful place. Will definitely visit again.

We spent one night here out of two planned. Quiet hours (11 pm) and fire out hour (1 am) were not enforced. At 3 am, the big group diagonal to us were still drinking, shouting, using profanity, and laughing loudly. My husband finally went out to ask them to be quiet. They quieted at 3:30. There is no way to reach the office at night. We left a message at midnight and the next morning at 10 am we got an apology with a cell number for the on-site manager. By that point, we were packed up. My suggestion to the owners is to give that number out to people when they check in in the event of problems, if there aren’t plans to enforce quiet hours. Friendly staff, but we won’t be back as we prefer quiet campgrounds where quiet hours are honored and enforced.

Campground Response

It is a shame that you had this experience as it is not typical. We do hand out cards with an after hours number and have a staff member that goes around to check both before and after quite time hours. Not sure what happen that particular night but had you stayed I'm sure it would not have repeated.

I really enjoyed staying here! We brought our 5 month old puppy and older dog and they had a blast splashing in the river. The sites were clean and plenty of room to walk around the dogs without bumping into others. It wasn’t totally quiet during quiet hours, music was playing and people were talking til 3am next to us, but that’s not really the managers fault and it was definitely not unbearable or super loud, just may annoy some guests that need absolutely silence. The staff member at the desk was really nice! The bathrooms were so clean!! Did not check the port-o-potties or showers as we didn’t need to, but the flush toilets were spotless. All in all, we will be back!

Spent a few mid-week days camping as a family with our dog. Owners very accommodating when we asked to change dates because of incoming rain. Campground rustic with clean porta potties, and showers available. There was wifi info hanging in the check-in/store but we didn’t use it. Many dog waste bag stations noted, and grounds were very clean- site was freshly raked before we arrived. Motion lights lit up for late night bathroom runs. Fire wood and other things available for purchase in the store. We enjoyed floating down the river on our tubes and our dog had a great time swimming. Access to river wasn’t AS easy from our site (64: somewhat steep drop, too hard for four year old) but plenty of other spots we could get into the water. Three of our four family members did each end up with a leech on them, but it wasn’t a huge deal to us- easily removed. Just letting others know. Four stars because it wasn’t quite as tucked away as I would prefer: could hear some road noise from our campsite. That being said, I would return again! Great memories for our kids!

We love it here, very quiet and relaxing. We had site 71 very private. We've had this site 3 other times and love it, the size is great, right near the river. Would highly recommend!

Everything was very clean including the bathrooms and the campsite. I would definitely go again or recommend a friend!

Katie Essigmann

Had a great time camping here. The site was clean as well as the porta-potties. Nice clean beaches right on the river. So fun and relaxing. My only suggestion would be to add a few extra solar lights along the way to the bathrooms... it's a long walk in the dark from some of the sites :) but that's why they make flashlights. Can't wait to visit again!

Trisha Allen

We stayed at site 70a and it was very neat, sandy, no roots, and they rake each site before you arrive. The river is clean and it's a fun float down and walk back to the site. The bathrooms (porter pottys) were a bit far away from us, but that wasn't a bother. Sites 70 & 70a aren't private from one another. Book both with friends/family!

Mary Oakes

The people working there/owners, were very nice! Rented a camper which was also nice. Dog friendly, river was very low when we were there and no easy way to get down to it from our area. The only problem was the on and off wafting of porta-potty smell, and it wasn't just near the Port-O's, it was throughout the camp, that was rough! They did end up getting the Port o's emptied on our 3rd day there but it seemed to be coming from all around, perhaps camper trailers too? I don't know but that was our only issue, unfortunately :(
