We were booked for three nights over this Memorial Day weekend. We had to leave after the first night loosing over $100 and our much awaited three day vacation . The site was minute, ridiculously un-level and entirely covered in 8” of sand so when you back your trailer in - it sinks - unevenly. Sand = Ants … who thought this was a good idea?? The water supply was spraying water (leaking) directly on to the 30 amp breaker - didn’t even want to touch it - so blatantly DANGEROUS. Facilities aside - the camp ground became uncomfortably over crowded with in a few hours of arrival. The sites are on top of each other with little to no privacy. We enjoyed the five cars in the site adjacent to us and their high beam headlights they directed at us from 10:30 pm to 11:15 pm . Accompanied by 8 to 10 screaming children that carried on until after 11:30 pm. It’s evident none of the “rules” are enforced here. All in all , the WORST camping experience in all my years . We booked this shanty town based on the good reviews , I’m not sure how anyone can review this place positively .

The Camp was absolutely amazing! Small but fun! Good people and beautiful scenery! The maintenance guy was super helpful and of course amazing along with the guy working the front! My boyfriend and I rented one of the on site campers it was super clean and well maintained! We will definitely be back next season!!

Loved it, you don't get that many campgrounds for special area for tents. I go back there

First impressions mean a lot. This one fails. When you pull into the campground, all you see are seasonal sites. A few aren't bad, but most are. Some of the trailers look as though they've been there for decades. Then there's the road down to the lower section which is very steep and narrow. We had concerns about getting back out. If you have a large rig, this may not be the place for you. Our site, 50, was less than 200 yards from the intersection of Rt 16 and 25. Two very busy highways. Lots of motorcycle, truck, emergency vehicles and just plain traffic noise all day. On the plus side, the owners are very friendly.

When we arrived we were taken a little off balance because of the tired looking seasonal trailers. The sites were pretty dusty, but we had a nice spot on the river and we enjoyed a trip floating in tubes to the beginning of the campground. Unfortunately Rt16 and 25 were just on the other side of the water so it was quite noisy. We were with a group so it was fine, but when we are alone we look for quieter places. The staff and campers were very friendly.

I used to come here years ago and it was just as I remembered it! My family and I had an amazing time and our fur babies were allowed to come along for the adventure! We will definitely be back again!

The campground is nice, and the sites appear pretty well maintained. There is access to a stream which is nice! The site was raked out before we got there, so it was clean and easy to setup our gear in. Only cons, the quiet hours are not enforced so there was very little sleep had. The fire pit did not have a grate so we couldn't cook on it, and the GPS had difficulty find the place.

Great little campground…tent camped for 3 nights…We stayed in site 70A…shady and short sandy path to river access…there is a road/bbq joint (popular with bikers) on the other side of the shallow river from this site so can be a bit noisy at times…site 65 looks to be the best tent site…direct river access, shady and on a bend in the river (away from the road)…Gentleman (one of the owners) at the front was super sweet, welcoming and accommodating…we would come back for sure!

I’ve been coming here since I was five years old. It’s been a few years since I had gone camping but I decided I would come back once I turned 18. I had an awesome time with my friends and can’t wait to do it again!

This campground could use some TLC. Gave it 2 stars for the location of our site #54 on the river. And most of the campsites looked spacious. The rental unit was pretty clean but did smell. Road noise was loud. We probably won't go back.

Overall great week at Bear Camp easy access to many different adventures. The only downside was on Friday 7/1 a large crowd came in walking through site. They were very loud and blasting music. After that night after the crowd moved to another site it was quiet. Thanks
