We stayed at Bearcamp River in August of 2020. Our site was in the bottom part of the campground, encircled by the beautiful Bearcamp river. Old fashioned camping with water and electric. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even giving me a refund when we had to leave early!

I went camping with my pup on Columbus Day weekend. Very friendly owners said they took over in May. Tent sites along the river were pretty private. Clean sites, clean bathrooms. Free showers but I didn’t use.

Jasmine Lellock

Lovely secluded campground! The staff was so friendly, and the sites were clear and clean. The river was so beautiful!

First time camping at this campground and we enjoyed every moment! Beautiful spot by the river. Front office staff was very friendly, check-in was super easy. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Really enjoyed our stay there! Everyone was friendly! Great location! Loved how pet friendly it is here and how everyone was very respectful about that. We will be back!

Ryan Snyder

Very quiet, site was clean, will absolutely be coming back hopefully for a longer stay next time, two nights just wasn't enough! Very close to stores for anything you forgot to bring (or a dunkin donuts coffee in the morning:) )

The campground had construction going on other then that we had a great time. We read one of the best sites 😃 and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Will go again.

Campgrounds were clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Greg in the office was very customer oriented. The new manager was seen walking around grounds daily. He was very nice and friendly. Bathrooms were clean and showers are free.

Chelsea Dias

Great time overall. Staff at front office were always nice, helpful and friendly. Would for sure go again

Our family has been going to this camp ground for many years and we love it. The river was low this year but we still had an amazing time. The owners and staff are really nice.

River front here is great for swimming, floating and enjoying the day. Bathrooms were clean, showers were campy (but that's what you're there for!). Lots of construction, rubble, etc, but the campground was just purchased so I think they are in the middle of changes. I would not recommend the pop up rentals until new units are there. They are dirty, old and broken to the point of being hazardous.

We loved everything about our stay!

Overall the camp ground is great very clean and well kept up top does need some work but I was told they are cleaning it up this year bathrooms are well kept and clean porta potties are clean and when quite time comes around the campground is piece full the gentleman in the office I believe his name is Gregg he was very rude not sure why must have had a bad day We will be back

Found this campground by mistake in June, have since booked several more trips. It is your basic no frills campground which is exactly what we were after. There are flush toilets and hot showers that are as clean as you would expect for a campground. The sites are clean, have plenty of shade and space, and well cared for The site we book each time has river access, a bit of a climb to access but worth it. The gentleman who has checked us in each time is the nicest person. My husband has met the new owners and has nothing but good things to say. I love the overall feeling here, just laid back and relaxed. Our families new favorite spot that we will absolutely come back to as often as we can!

Our experience was not like it use to be. The new owners not as nice and showers were very unpleasant. Had to clean ourselves. They now charge $50 to remove trash. Constantly smelling marijuana being smoked. Not child safe. All In my opinion. Don't think I will be back. Sad previous owners did everything to make the experience pleasant.

Great stay! It’s a lot like the grassroots of camping... you may not have cell service, and it’s a walk to the bathroom, and don’t be surprised to wait in line for a shower..... but that’s camping! My kids (8 and 11) have decided that this is the campgrounds for all our future camping trips!

First, I will say the location of our specific site was awesome. As close to the river as we could be without being in it. The gentleman at the front desk was a sweetheart and I do not wish this review to reflect on him in any capacity. However, this place needs a major overhaul. As you drive through the gate you pass what looks like an abandoned trailer park.. I'm talking trailers with broken windows, broken vinyl on the siding, and trees that have literally fallen and landed on these trailers. Off-putting to say the least. It does get a little better (scenery wise) once you get past that but, our fireplace had not been cleaned out and the previous occupants has left some sort of pipe/bowl in the pit. The pop-up rental was covered with black mold, the sink leaked like crazy, and there was duck tape covering about 20 holes. At one point I saw about 5-10 bees fly their way into a side of the pop up and never fly out so one can assume they have a nest somewhere in it. Someone came by once to check on us once when we first arrived and at that point stated "oh, we have a newer pop-up that we're going to put up before you got here but you beat me down here, this one is a bit dated". My husband and I thought that was an interesting introduction to our campsite. There is one bathroom location, which wasn't exactly central to anyone and after about 4pm on Saturday there was no soap or paper towels to wash your hands with...🤮 I understand this is camping and to use your resources but if you're going to advertise a bathroom at least provide the bare minimum. Like soap. This is a small campground so I am not sure why there was any difficulty maintaining the cleanliness and supplies in the bathroom. Had our site not been directly on the water I think we would have left. The pop-up at site 51 should be condemned.

Odd complementary but some of the best smelling port o potties I've ever been in. Very clean site the river was nice and quiet, People not so much. But once it hit quiet time (11 PM ) you could hear a pin drop and that was nice.
