The Bastrop State Park Campground is located in the beautiful town of Bastrop and is a great spot for an authentic Texas adventure. The park is filled with a blend of post oak, pine and junipers and is known of its excellent trails for hiking, biking and exploring. It's also a great location for picnicking, sunset viewing and stargazing. Campers can look forward to a number of attractions just outside of the park including Lake Bastrop which is a popular spot for fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The Lost Pines Forest is another excellent outdoor spot, and is ideal for the scenic photographer hidden inside every traveler. Other great attractions include the Texas Reptile Zoo, Bastrop County Museum and Visitor Center and the Colorado River Preserve. The surrounding area is also a hub for great local eateries and sights, so many visitors leave the grounds for a day to explore the town.
