I'm so glad I picked the Lone Star when visiting Austin. The facilities are super clean. That's important to me. I meet a lot of people who stay on weekends for the Longhorn games. They are always fun and bring good energy to the park. Also, this place fills up quickly during the ACL festival, food and wine festival, and so on. Don't wait to the last minute to reserve a spot. I visit Austin ever fall and ALWAYS stay and the Lone Star. I love the staff.

I like the staff. That is one of the reasons I stay at the Lone Star in Austin. They also keep the bathrooms spotless. The staff work hard to keep this RV park nice. It's just a few miles from downtown. I've been here for one year and I have met a lot of nice people who come here for all of the amazing events in Austin. If you are looking for an RV park close to downtown consider coming here.

Office staff including so-called management are awful.  Nothing but lies, excuses, threats and other unprofessional behavior. - The pool is a bathtub for homeless at night and along with improper maintenance render the cesspool routinely out of order for your health benefit. Highway 35's noise will drive you nuts too, so don't plan on relaxing by it. (check out the proximity of the pool to the highway, your eyes won't deceive you). - You will see rows of unregistered/unlicensed, non-road worthy, abandoned and poorly maintained rv's. - Washers and dryers routinely out of order, or many of them being used daily by the park's cleaning woman (not her fault though, poor management) - Cats running all over day and night, dogs urinating on your vehicles, etc. - Extremely narrow roads, which are very dark at night. Few walkways, so you will be walking on the narrow roads. - A steady stream of food trucks getting propane throughout the day, with limited afternoon propane filling times for extended stay and short-term guests. - Never ending traffic congestion when entering and exiting the trailer park, emergency vehicle sirens and the occasional fireworks and/or gunshots, I wanted to believe they were fireworks...  Aka: Urban Ambiance In addition, if you are planning an extended stay... - Plan on setting up your "free" basic cable account, hardware pick up and installation directly with Spectrum a short drive away.  You will get no assistance from park staff when you have cable issues and you will likely have issues. - Forget about getting your mail and deliveries. One Star's so called management and office staff will tell you to get a PO box if you have the audacity to believe receiving mail/deliveries is a reasonable expectation while a long term resident.  The crack Mgt. duo does not allow deliveries to your site either. - The fence around the place is designed to complete the urban prison ambiance along with creating a false sense of security.  Secure everything you have and hope for the best.  Have good  insurance too. Now, don't get me wrong.. manager Chuck and asst mgr Mary welcomes your money, it is you they won't like.  Read the poor reviews others have posted here and elsewhere.  It is all true, regardless of the age of the post. If you come for a night, or two with extremely low expectations, or desire a longer traumatic experience you won't be disappointed with Austin's One Star Trailer Park. Safe Travels!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Austin Lone Star. Not only is it a beautiful park and extremely well-kept, it is also run by a very efficient staff. They are on top of things, let me tell you. From a prompt check-in, to a thorough check-out, we were very impressed. The facility itself it very clean. Most RV sites have shade, with trees, and a picnic table. One thing to note before you stay, is have $20 in cash available if you're looking to come and go as you please. They have a gate, which requires a key card, and you can only have a key card with the deposit. The laundry facilities are as you would expect. You can wash and dry a load for under $3. There is a TV in the facility as well, plus a dog park right out back, and a kid's park next door. The showers are very clean, and never packed. They each have their own stall area with a sink and toilet that locks. Water gets very hot, which was nice. Their main office/headquarters is also home to their mail, fitness facility, ping-pong table, and small convenience store. The fitness facility was under renovation when we stayed, which we were a bit bummed about. But, hopefully this just means better things down the road. You can buy your regular RV supplies in the store, as well as fill up on some fresh coffee. They pick up trash if you leave it out front in your site between 8am-10am. As far as location is concerned, you do hear some noise from I35. However, there are such limited RV parks close to downtown Austin, that you almost forget the noise altogether. It's a great park, well-maintained, in a wonderful location. Hopefully the next time we visit, they will have their pool open, as well as the gym renovation complete.
