The Kiowa National Grassland is a primitive campsite located in Mills, New Mexico. The area is surrounded by juniper and pinion pine which rings the top of Mills Canyon; although there's not very much shade for people, if you bring your horses, you're sure to find shade for them. The area is popular for its wide, open spaces, providing plenty of room for ATV enthusiasts, equestrians and portable corrals. With hundreds of acres of wild, desert land, this park is perfect for clear skies and star gazing, biking and exploring, so feel free to go out there and explore! The park has tent sites and tent pads, but no amenities beyond that, so bring everything you need for a distraction-free stay. We hope you visit soon!

The Raton KOA is a great stopping point on a road trip between Colorado and New Mexico. Visit the great local attractions around this park, including: the Santa Fe Trail, Boy Scout Museum, downtown Raton's Historic District and Capulin Volcano National Monument. Depending on when you come, you can also look forward to small-town parades and fireworks, as well as various breathtaking ballooning events. Also be sure to take advantage of the horsehoe pits and game room, as well as the conveniences on site.

The Blanco Campground is located in the Heron Lake State Park, Los Ojos, New Mexico. The picturesque Heron Lake is located among the  gorgeous talls pines native to New Mexico, and long-time campers love this area because it's a designated "quiet lake." Boat operators cannot get up to wake speeds, meaning there's not only peacefulness for visitors to enjoy, but a still water surface for canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Campers also love fishing at this lake. Look forward to kokanee salmon and record-size trout. There's also plenty to see for the wildlife viewer; keep your eyes open for osprey, bald eagles, mule deer, elk, deer and mountain lions.  

The Jemez Mountains is the breathtaking backdrop for the Fenton Lake State Park in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Surrounded by beautiful ponderosa pines, the park is ideal of wildlife viewing and hiking, and with the Rio Cebolla running through it, it's also excellent for fishing and canoeing. The river is well-stocked with rainbow trout and German brown trout; ice fishing is also popular there. The park also has a fun playground for kids making it well-sought after among the little ones, and is also known to attract cross-country skiiers during the winter months. Boating, horseback riding and picnicking are also common activities at the park.

Fall in love with New Mexico by visiting the Onderosa Group Campground in the Banedlier National Monument. Look forward to not only the spectacular views of the moment, but also great hiking trails such as the Main Loop Trail, Tsankawi Trail and the backcountry region of the monument. Be sure to keep your cameras and binoculars handy for the American Pika, deer and other wildlife that are common around this park. There are only two sites avilable though, so reserve one early! Jemez Falls - USFS is located near the beautiful New Mexico city of Santa Fe, and is a great camping spot for the history-buff and the desert lover. Visitors can look forward to great museums, world-class art and a breathtaking natural terrain surrounding the campground.    Amenities and Activities RVers can take advantage of a ton of great activities near the campground. Some camper favorites include: skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, biking, hot air balloon rides, river rafting, golfing, ATV tours, river tubing, fishing, boating and horseback riding. The Valve Tenders Group Campground is located in Raton, in Sugarite Canyon. Soak in the gorgeous views of the canyon as well as the sunrises over Lake Alice off in the distance, and fall in love with New Mexico all over again. There's plenty to do, so get ready for hiking, biking and lots of water sports like boating, swimming and fishing. You can also go horseback riding here, and go rock climbing along the canyon. At an elevation of over 7,000 feet and plenty of sights and experiences to enjoy, you'll no doubt have a cool and relaxing time at Valve Tenders. 

Get ready for a rustic, peaceful getaway at the Sands Cove Primitive Campground, where campers can truly relax in a distraction-free space. Look forward to a gorgeous natural terrain and a cove that's ready to be fished, and equally as great for paddle boarding and kayaking. There's also some beautiful and not-too challenging trails for hiking and biking, and if you get caught out at dusk, prepare for the spectacular light show of a New Mexico sunset. 

The Juniper Campground is located at the Bandelier National Monument and is a popular campign spot for families and small groups of about 10 people or fewer. Look forward to some breathtaking views of the cliffside and mountain ranges, as well as a thriving wildlife landscape. Keep you eyes open for deer, the Bandelier butterflies, American pika and Abert's squirrels, as well the beautiful natural terrain that there creatures call home. The hiking trails at this park are slightly easier and shorter than at other parks at Bandelier, and this ensures that children and younger camper are not overly taxed as they explore the area. Also be sure to take pictures of the beautiful monument and look upward at dawn or dusk to see that iconic New Mexico sky! Amenities at the park include: RV dump station, RV hookups, tent camping, picnic tables, grills, water, restrooms and firewood for sale. The Soda Pocket Campground is located in Sugarite Canyon, New Mexico and is surrounded by exquisite, blooming wildflowers. These wildflowers pop up among the beautiful hiking trails, amphitheater and nearby lake. The area is known for its thriving fauna as well, so keep an eye out for hummingbirds and deer while you're there. With the lake nearby, take advantage of water sports such as cruising, swimming, kayaking and of course, plenty of fishing. And at the end of a long day, look up at the sky for the stargazing New Mexico visitors can't get enough of.

The Gambel Oak Group Campground is located in the Sugarite Canyon and as the name suggests, is filled with spectacular gambel oaks and other beautiful trees. Look forward to hiking the natural landscape and exploring nearby areas like Lake Alice with tons of opportunities for water sports. Take your line out to the lake side for some stellar fishing, or go swimming, cruising or kayaking. To truly appreciate the park, make sure to chat with the rangers and learn from them the ins-and-outs of the canyon. Ask them about the best trails and picnic areas, as well as the best spots for stargazing.

The Willow Creek Campground is located at the Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico and neighbors Santa Fe. It's the perfect spot for fresh air and acres and acres of gorgeous forestry and southwestern beauty. Enjoy fishing trout and salmon, and since the lake is a designated "quiet lake," you can also look forward to peaceful canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Hiking is also very popular at this site, but don't forget your bike if you want to experience the trails just a little bit differently! You can alos make a day trip to Santa Fe or Albuquerque, so plan to catch the balloon festival if you can. It's a real treat. 

The Brushy Point Campground is located at the Heron Lake State Park, and is set among the picturesque tall pines of northern New Mexico. Designated as a "quiet lake," boat operators cannot get up to wake-speeds, making it an excellent location for paddle-crafts liek canoes and kayaks. Get on the lake surface to enjoy a peaceful and easy-going float on the lake, and be sure to cast a few lines to catch record-sized trout and kokanee salmon. Ice fishing is very popular during the winter, as is cross-country skiing. During the warmer months, be sure to hike, bike and picnic your way around the lake, taking in the beautiful natural terrain as you go. 

At an elevation of over 9,800 feet, Hopewell Lake Campground is filled not only with gorgeous mountain ranges and forestry, but crisp, fresh air. Located between Tres Pierdas and Tierra Amarilla, expect excellent outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking and tons of mountain biking. You can also fish for rainbow trout and brook at the 14 acres that makeup Hopewell Lake. Picnicking is another popular activity, and it's even better at dusk when you can enjoy beautiful New Mexico sunsets and star gazing. It's the perfect spot for your next quiet, nature getaway.
