The RV park is just a short drive from several lakes, the village of Capitan and the Fort Stanton Historic Site.   Hunters are welcome as well! Open year round, Stone Mountain RV Park & Resort is located near hunting units 36 and 37. There is a game cooler, skinning rack and horse corrals on premises for hunters to use during their stay! There's so much to do, you might have to extend your trip!   Our park is located just minutes north of Ruidoso, New Mexico at 510 NM State Highway 37 at mile post marker 4. A famous landmark in the Smokey Bear Ranger District, Monjeau Lookout was constructed as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps project. The site is perfect for the adventure lover with its dirt surfaces and steep, rocky steps steeped in history. There's so much of Alto to see around the lookout, creating a stellar environment for nature viewing and backpacking.
