The Jemez Mountains is the breathtaking backdrop for the Fenton Lake State Park in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Surrounded by beautiful ponderosa pines, the park is ideal of wildlife viewing and hiking, and with the Rio Cebolla running through it, it's also excellent for fishing and canoeing. The river is well-stocked with rainbow trout and German brown trout; ice fishing is also popular there. The park also has a fun playground for kids making it well-sought after among the little ones, and is also known to attract cross-country skiiers during the winter months. Boating, horseback riding and picnicking are also common activities at the park.

Bonito Lake Campground is just a mile from Bonito Lake. Even though there's no fishing at the lake, there is plenty to do such as: camping, hiking and so much sight seeing along the gorgeous green mountain ranges.

The Three Rivers Petroglyph Site is the biggest collection of petroglyphs in the nation, and is a great place to immerse yourself in the history and rich culture of the southwest. Hikers prepare for some challenging and scenic trails, and great views of the Sierra and Tularosa Basin. The nearby trading post is also world-class, offering campers a pick of the best local arts and craft, each unique piece holding some historic or cultural significance. Located at Sumner Lake, New Mexico, Mesquite Campground is a go-to campus for excellent outdoor recreation amidst gorgeous natural terrain. Look forward to catching crappie, walleye and bass, and if you enjoy water sports, there's plenty of space at the reservoir for boating, kayaking and swimming. The area is also well-forested, and perfect for biking, hiking and exploring, so be sure to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and curious wildlife. Visit Lake Sumner to enjoy the exquisite terrain iconic of the southwest. Bring your camera to capture tall, looming mountains in the background and acres of forested plains. The park is popular maong people who love watersports, but also offers excellent trails and pathways for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Enjoy swimming, boating and of course excellent fly fishing while you're there. The park is also close to Santa Fe, and is a great stopping point if you're headed that way. The park is also relatively close to the Bosque Redondo Memorial and Fort Sumner. 

Filled with history, Las Vegas New Mexico is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the colorful past of the state. This KOA is close to the Santa Fe trail used by Billy the Kid, and was once used by thousands of travelers, journeying across the southwest in wagons. The park is popular for its stellar views as it sits at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountain, and is surrounded by juniper and pinions. 900 historic buildings and wagon-wheel ruts highlight the area's past, while the lakes and national wildlife refuge highlight its natural wonders. The East Side Campground is located at Sumner Lake, New Mexico and is a great place for a quiet yet adventurous southwestern vacation. Of course, with so much open area to explore, many campers go on long hikes or bike rides along the trails or make their own paths. Jemez Falls - USFS is located near the beautiful New Mexico city of Santa Fe, and is a great camping spot for the history-buff and the desert lover. The Skyline Campground is located south of the famous Monjeau Lookout Tower along Forest Road. Visitors enjoy exquisite scenery, and breathtaking mountain views. With access to the White Mountain Wilderness via the Crest Trailhead. The South Area Campground is located at the Storrie Lake State Park and is a popular site for outdoor activities and some serene lakeside relaxation. Enjoy wildlife viewing while you hike the various trails around the park, so be sure to back not only your binoculars, but your hiking shoes! The area is also well-known for excellent fishing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, caoneing and boating. The area can get hot, but look forward to crisp, fresh breezes off the lake, which keeps the temperature ideal for outdoor activities.
